Ohai, my name's Kayla! I'm twenty-one years old, almost twenty-two and
I live in a nifty little area called the Shire which is located in
Sydney, Australia.
I'm pretty much one of the biggest nerds that you'll ever meet. But I
don't really mind, I'm pretty chill with who I am so nothing you could
hit me with would probably ever really bother me. I read a lot. Books,
comics, poetry, everything. You name it, I'll read it pretty much.
Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Anne Rice, H.P. Lovecraft, H.R. Giger,
J.R.R. Tolkien, and Edgar Alan Poe are just a small selection of the
writers/poets that I adore and whatever they come out with/have
released I'll probably like :]
I love DC and Marvel Comics. Vertigo, and Dark Horse are pretty alright
too. Hero's like Batman, Spiderman, Black Panther, Nightcrawler and
Wolverine? They're where it's at. For serious. At the moment I've been
reading a lot of Hellboy, Marvel Zombies, Marvel Zombies Vs. Army Of
Darkness, and backreading a lot of the old Black Panther comics.
They're all pretty fucking awesome, and if you want to recommend me
something seriously go ahead. I'm always up to find more series' to get
into.
I love shit like Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons. I don't
play Warhammer yet but over the next year or so I'm going to be
collecting my own army of Vampire Counts and going to start kicking asses.
I'm passionate about music. It's the one thing in the world that means
more to me than life itself. Seriously, just listening to my favourite
bands and taking in the lyrics that most of them write and just ..
everything put together. It's got me through some of the toughest times
in my life, and then it's been there for some of the greatest times of
my life. I go to as many concerts as I can and I try to get into it
just as much. I've come out of mosh pits in worse states than I went
into them but it doesn't matter. That's what it's all about, enjoying
yourself and the music. And not caring too much if you come out hurt. I
listen to a lot of genre's, I'm pretty far ranged and I'll give
everything atleast a listen. If I don't like it, then I don't like it.
I'm not going to say oh, hey. You like that band, you suck. Because
it's stupid to judge someone based on music alone. What I do listen to,
though, is anything that's pop-punk, emo, hardcore, grindcore, metal,
indie, 80's hair metal, alternative and seriously just a lot of
everything. I don't like country, though, and most rap/r&b/hip-hop.
I'm very into body modification. It's not something I do
because I think it'll make people like me, or it'll make me cool.
'Cause I know for a fact that I'm definitely one of the last people
that'll ever fit into your cool kid
cliques. I do it because I like the whole idea of it, the art of it and
the history of it. It's something I would like to get into and do for a
living one day, for definite. At the moment I have 11 piercings, and
after I finish getting everything that I want to I should be around the
19.. or 20 mark. I'm in the process of planning a bunch of tattoos I
want too. I have one for now, and although it was pretty dodgily done
(.. even though I paid a buttload of money for it, haha. I got jipped)
I still don't regret doing it at all and can't wait to get more. I'd
like to eventually have both arms done, a chestpiece and a tribute to
my mum and dad somewhere.

I spend most of my time, when I'm not at work or chilling at Miranda,
on Wikipedia reading about serial killers, stuff to do with H.P.
Lovecraft and artists that I like - Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh and
Pablo Picasso. Or on here, talking to people I do, or don't
(personally) in some cases, know. I also watch a lot of cartoons,
especially japanese ones. I like series' such as Loveless, Death Note,
Code Geass, Utena, and many more. Normal cartoon-wise (for those of you
not in on the whole japan craze) I watch a lot of Adult Swim cartoons.
Like Metalocalypse, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Brak Show, Robot
Chicken, Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2010, Frisky Dingo and seriously
anything I can find. Or they show. I also watch South Park and Drawn
Together as well. I don't really watch any normal T.V. series' because
I can never get into them, and stay into them which sucks but oh well.
I do try to catch Dexter whenever I can, though, because that's pretty
good. And would one day like to eventually watch the new Dr. Who series
and Heroes.
