Current mood:  rejuvenated

Hi Kids,

Since the wonderful/dreaded Valentine's Day is approaching (and yes there is a difference depending on your current relationship status or overall frame of mind at the moment) I thought it would be good time to post my song "Love Like That."  I wrote it for my parents a while back. (It's also, appropriately enough, their anniversary the 13th)  Here's the deal on these two . . . THEY ARE IN LOVE.  Can you believe it?  I know . . . still!  In this world of rampant divorce and loveless marriages, these two act like they're still in frickin high school.  It's truly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.  They have been the best roll models anyone could ever be blessed to have in their life. Yet we do have this running joke about that . . . they set the best example for me and, inadvertantly, screwed me at the same time.  See now I have this ideal of what I want out of a relationship or at least the ability to recognize the potential in one to someday have what they have.  So I'd rather be single for the rest of my life than settle for something subpar.  (Hence . . . still single!)   It's PASSION incarnate baby, Hell Yea!  They live it, breathe it and believe it.  Is it nauseating?  Only to those who don't believe it exists or think they'll never find it.  I believe.  Always have, always will.   For those of you who already have a love like that . . . God bless ya.  And for those still on the journey . . . God bless ya . . . you're among friends!

Oh and by the way,  when I asked my Dad to email me this picture of him and Mom on they're wedding day, he included this little tidbit.........

"Hey Tiff,  if anyone asks for my number, don't tell Mom!!!"

(Did I mention a sense of humor is also key to a great relationship?)

 LOVE LIKE THAT

She calls him on the phone if just to hear his sound

He holds her picture for the times she's not around

You'll see her melting at the mention of his name

He'd give his life for her and she would do the same

You say that fairy tales are never as they seem

You take reality, I'll take the dream

I want a love like that, forever it should last

To be in love like that, is that too much to ask

I want to see it how they see it thru their eyes

Am I selective or a looser in disguise

He'd give her anything if just to see her smile

She gives him kisses that reduce him to a child

The years have brought them even closer than before

And just to see them gives me hope for something more

You say it's passion that's been taken to extreme

You take reality, I'll take the dream

I want a love like that, forever it should last

To be in love like that, is that too much to ask

I want to see it how they see it thru their eyes

Am I selective or a looser in disguise
