Because of my long and arduous label experience i never got to drop the first album i created, Because of that I never got to really gain any feedback or figure out quite who my crowd was or IS for that matter. At the current point in time i'm knee deep in the mayday experiment but I still have a few joints I really want to release. I was thinking along the lines of a digital ep....I have most of it ready to go but it would take some effort to finish and release. So my question to whoever is on the end of this message is....Is that something you'd wanna hear?.....Would you check for it?....Just feelin around to see who's really interested?....if this message goes out and comes back an echo i'll prob just keep those songs locked away for a rainy day..... Well hello my hurricane dodging, politcal convention watching, toxin smoking friends....It's friday again......And besides those storms lurking in next weeks future things are looking pretty chill. I missed last weeks flashback due to chaos on the homefront so this week I'm bringing it back and going audio....I'm posting up a 5 year old recording of a song I did called "Seven". This was back before MTV, before Southbeat, and before I had half as much a clue of what I think I do now. This was during a period when I was starting to make my own beats and would take those over to the home studio of Double Edge in Miami. Besides the Illitterats album I recorded about 4 or 5 solo songs there and this was one of them. I've got at least 150 loose songs and unfinished demos that i've never released so from time to time I like to scan through them and see where the hell I've come from. Vocal changes, flow changes, attitude changes, a lot can happen in 5 years. Well anyway this is the joint I did over one of my old ass beats....lol.......Don't judge too hard.....i was like 20 and i'm sensitive.....not really but....yeah....enjoy...."Seven" - 6.78 Mb

And here we go again.....Yesterday I wrote this blog 3 times in the advanced editor b4 realizing that it wouldn't work with the video.....SO......Ur getting this one over the weekend.... This week I'm taking it back again to the USBC championships at the Next Level Barber Shop in Miami (2001). This round I go up against the homie Jiggs from the crew Street Light Poets.....Jiggs was another one of miami's finest freestylers and a talented artist in the miami underground....I remember one of the punchlines I pulled out had to do with the then popular "because I got high" record.......classic shit....Shouts to the homie Jiggs and everyone involved in the street light poets.....

Review by Steve 'Flash' Juon

Artist: DJ I-Dee f/ Jean Grae, Wrekonize
Title: The Right
Label: Adiar Cor Records

We previously noted on the RapReviews newsfeed this single may never see an official release due to an uncleared sample, even though Jean Grae and Wrekonize cameo on the track and a fly video has been shot for the song. Honestly I don't think the previous blurb did justice to the inustice of the situation.. There are not many producers OR DJ's out there today who are mixing Final Fantasy samples in their songs, and if Square Enix are not smart enough to realize this promotes their games AND they can get paid off it to boot well that's their fault. It's certainly not Jean Grae's fault, who describes herself as a "verbal masochist" while simultaneously seducing hip-hop in his essence and reality. It definitely isn't Wrek's fault, even though he outright says "f-f-f-FUCK radio play" in his opening verse. It's strictly a beautiful presentation, set off not only by dope samples but by I-Dee showing some MAD FLEX on the wheels of steel. There just aren't enough hip-hop singles with this kind of turntablism skill these days, so if you want your fix of the best rap song to sample from a video game Smif-N-Wessun became the Super Cocoa Brovaz, pray the sample is cleared before I-Dee's album drops later this month.
