OCT 27/09 - COVER, SHOW -- HERE IS A VIDEO FROM THE SHOOT NADIA DAWN

I was given this script as an Oceanographer.  The mere sight of the nine pages and the jargon that I was unfamiliar with lead me to eat a ton of chocolate almonds, chips, ice cream and well a lot more.....

My stomach started to hurt, then I told myself well I'll keep the sheet with me and memorize some of it -- all of it would be impossible!!!

I started finding the words in the dictionary, moreover, it would no longer be a foreign language -- I felt elated..!!

What was going on?? OMG -- My mind has been telling me to start studying again -- Nothing has felt right!!   Nothing -- All though I do love appearing at venues/clubs and getting paid for it -- It seemed that there was no purpose in my life. My mind felt dormant. I forgot who I was. I went to University? I studied languages? I've been studying acting for five years? What I thought I was a model who just got offered roles....

It's so weird how your mind tells you GO BACK TO SCHOOL, START STUDYING AGAIN, FOCUS -- but you shut it out -- there's always an excuse.

What was I thinking. THIS SCRIPT IS AMAZING, it challenges me and it's completely out of my realm.

I've pretty much got everything memorized!! I'm studying with my acting coach tomorrow.

WOW --ONCE FEAR IS ELIMINATED-- ONCE YOU TAKE THAT CHANCE THAT YOU NORMALLY WOULD RATIONALIZE INTO NOT DOING IT, ONCE YOU OVERCOME YOUR FEAR -- THE REWARD IS INSURMOUNTABLE ----GO FOR IT!!

Sometimes you tend to just focus on work and use positive thinking as a way of living but of course Negative Nancy pops up!!! --- Cancel out all of your negative thoughts with positive ones, surround yourself with people that breathe positivity, and don't let the "CRABS" get you!

We are only what we make of ourselves and if we surround ourselves with toxic energy they will try to take the LIGHT away from you.

I promise to you guys to continue to promote being Positive; Love and Life.

Hi there There are only a few spaces left for this Saturday's 4th July Sweat Lodge as we sit with our ancestors to guide us towards our own "pursuit of happiness." Love & Light Patti Penn Website 4th July Native American Indian Sweat Lodge Let us sit with the ancestors....:)) This sweat on the 4th July will celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. The second sentence of which is one of the most potent words in American human history that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness." In this sweat we will be connecting to you happiness, your joy, your bliss just in case you have forgotten where you put it! The sweat lodge is an important ritual used by Native American Indians as a ceremonial sauna to purify the mind, body & soul combination. For me, this beautiful ceremony recognizes the trilogy of how our thoughts manifesting our well-being as well as the physical releasing of chemical manipulation in our water, food and air. The Lodge symbolizes the womb of Grandmother Earth and the heated stones represent her body supporting life. The fire is used to heat the rocks on the outside of the tar-pit (like an igloo) and represent the perpetual light. Once these stones are brought into the lodge the water is poured upon them to create hissing steam, which permeates the air, creating hot, humid atmosphere as the creative force of the universe is being activated All four elements of earth, fire, water and air combined with our ancestors energies creates an atmosphere of intense release for many as you sit in the pitch dark representing human ignorance unable to distract yourself from yourself (yes you get to sit in your own stuff). There are four main rounds in ceremony, as the flap to the tar-pit is opened on three occasions allowing in more hot stones the heat will build. Round one is Lyn calling in all the sacred energies and our ancestors to sweat with us and then lead prayers for ourself. These prayers for self are offered one-by-one  for our own healing, transformation, expansion, clarity, courage, wisdom or blessing. The second round is an offering of prayers for others within the world, our family, our friends, our children or our pets. The third round is known as our give away round whereby we release all our "stuff" that limits, impedes, holds us back; this is done in unison as we do not need to listen to each others "stuff". I will lead chants in between rounds to connect through sacred sound and focus our distracted energy as each round begins. Our final round thanks all the 22 energies we have invoked to assist us in our healing by recognizing we are those energies and honoring them within ourselves. This intense sense of community shares our energy to release and heal, as the power within all of us is stronger than the power within one of us. Each round offers new test of endurance of the heat, your feelings and yourself as a celebration of your spirit. NADIA DAWN - MODEL, ACTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER.




Hailing from Toronto Canada, Nadia Dawn is of Guyanese and Indian descent. She has been through the grind with immigration, but happily has obtained her H1 B Visa and now her O (Outstanding Ability as a Performer).

Nadia Dawn went to York University and studied Mass Communications and French. She also attend Trois Riveries, and Monpellier (South of France)  to pursue her knowledge of the French language. In addition she attend Centennial College for General Arts and Science.

 After her schooling was over, Nadia started off at a regular 9-5 job and hated the rigmarole of the constant structure. She always wanted to model and act but her parents didn't see that it could be possible seeing that she lived in Toronto Canada, but "impossible," was not in Nadia Dawn's vocabulary.

Throughout a ton of beauty pageants and music videos Nadia Dawn started to become a household name. She stared off in the Shaggy video, "It wasn't me, " as the Girl Next Door. She landed a part in Soul Food and Playmakers.

Upon Nadia Dawn's arrival  to the United States she had a layout in King Magazine, depicting her  being a gift to the United States. 

When arriving in the United States she worked with over 30 major artists as a leady lady: some include:  Chris Brown, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Neyo, Fabulous and so many more.

Nadia was still not satisfied, she needed more. She went on to write, produce and host her own 13 episode series, "SuperModelShowdown." She was the red carpet interviewer for the 38th NAACP Image Awards,  she produced a segment with Michael Bernard Beckwith at www.2.0television.com, and so much more.

Nadia recently graced Vibe Magazine in May 2009, J'adore will be shooting a four page spread of Ms. Dawn as well.

Nadia has two films on the go: Face the Thunder, which is located in India, and War of the Dragon.

There is no stopping Nadia Dawn as you can see she has a long way to go. Look for her in the promos this June for the BET Awards with Jamie Fox.
