Heavy Artillery Records label mates EXMORTUS and VEKTOR are teaming up to spread their brand of progressive thrash metal across the United States with the Winter Mayhem Tour.  Listed below are the dates.

Today also marks the release date of Black Future, the debut album from Phoenix, AZ futuristic thrashers VEKTOR. Locked, loaded and heavily armed, VEKTOR are excited to take their show on the road to unsuspecting metal heads across the US for the very first time. VEKTOR employs an array of intricacy, virtuosity and a wholly unique sound that has set them apart from the growing legions of color-by-numbers thrash bands. Black Future is a seventy minute epic of diabolical space metal that stimulates the senses and challenges any preconceived limits to what a metal album can be.

Los Angeles based neo-classical death unit EXMORTUS unleashed their debut album In Hatred’s Flames last year to much critical fanfare and will be set to record the follow up in the first half 2010. EXMORTUS are an entity amongst themselves and their music, both complex and thoroughly hook-laden, refuses to lend itself to easy categorization. From the technical death-thrash riffage and surgically precise drumming to their neo-classical, twin virtuoso lead guitar attack EXMORTUS has garnered interest from fans of death metal, thrash, prog metal, traditional heavy metal and all true metal sub-genres.

VEKTOR "BLACK FUTURE" CD
AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW!

Conceived by front man and guitarist David DiSanto, a spark of energy gave rise to Vektor in late 2004. Implementing technical, speed thrash, and progressive influences, Vektor quickly found their own unique sound and made a name for themselves playing local shows and opening for national acts such as Testament, Sigh, Sonata Arctica, Hirax, Finntroll, Dark Tranquility, Firewind, Iced Earth, Unexpect and Municipal Waste. Vektor employs an array of intricacy, virtuosity and a wholly unique sound which few others can claim. Diabolical space metal? Prog? Jazz fusion? You decide. Welcome to the future; prepare to have your brains melted.

The debut full length album, Black Future, from Arizona based virtuosic thrashers VEKTOR will be released worldwide on November 17th 2009 but today HEAVY ARTILLERY is pleased to unveil a sneak peek at a track from the forthcoming album. Available in all of futuristic metal glory the title track from Black Future has been added to the streaming media player on the VEKTOR Myspace page.

Welcome to the future; prepare to have your brains melted.

Conceived in 2004 by front man / guitarist David DiSanto and lead shredder Erik Nelson, VEKTOR quickly forged a name for themselves for their unique mix of technical, speed thrash and progressive influences. Going against the grain of the Phoenix metal scene, VEKTOR created a wave of interest with their self released CD Demolition (2006) and the ferocious two track demo Hunger for Violence (2007). After four years of local and regional gigging opening for such national acts as TESTAMENT, HIRAX, ICED EARTH and MUNICPAL WASTE, VEKTOR are preparing to hit the road for their first national tour in support of Black Future alongside label mates EXMORTUS.

Heavy Artillery Records present the new studio album from Austin, TX heavy metal stalwarts IGNITOR featuring legendary frontman Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys). This epic album will hit store shelves across North American on October 13th, 2009.

Forged in Austin, Texas during 2003 featuring Stuart Laurence on lead guitar (Agony Column), Brendon Bigelow on bass (Death of Millions), Beverly Barrington on guitar (T.A.N.G.), Erika Swinnich on vocals (Autumn Tears) and Pat Doyle on drums (The Offenders,) Ignitor began turning heads in several countries after releasing their debut 6-song EP “Take to the Sky” to rave reviews in 2004, with Germany’s Rock Hard magazine naming it Demo of the Month. The band made its European debut at the Keep it True Festival in Germany in November 2005, where they stunned the crowd and were named Best Newcomer by Mario’s Metal Mania magazine. In 2006 guitarist Beverly was replaced by shredder Annah Moore, and the band released the album “Road of Bones” (Cruz del Sur) in September 2007 to more rave reviews.

In late 2007, shortly after the release of the band’s critically acclaimed debut full-length album, Ignitor suffered a series of setbacks when both frontwoman Erika and guitarist Annah were forced to leave the band for personal reasons. It was then clear that the band needed to reclaim the spark that initally ignited it. Founding member Beverly was asked to rejoin the band and in October 2008, some 13 months after Erika’s departure, the band scored a tour de force by recruiting legendary metal frontman Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys) as lead vocalist. After a few months getting the new line-up acquainted musically, the band began recording its 2nd full-length album, “The Spider Queen”. Bolstered by the strength of the new line-up and at an all time creative peak, Ignitor had risen from the ashes to find themselves an even more formidable force than ever before. True heavy metal is their game and “The Spider Queen”, a concept album of pure epic metal, will not disappoint fans of such luminous work as Iron Maiden’s 'powerslave' or Queensryche's 'operation mindcrime'.
