Thanks to everyone at Lee Harvey's, especially all the cameo walk throughs.

I made my first re-delivery of Al Dia today. I took 10 or so of the yellow plastic bagged papers and wrote "Stop Littering North Oak Cliff" on them and rode my Triumph over to the Morning News and threw a couple on the grass, (nice, wet ones!) a couple on the main stairs, some more on the sidewalk and a couple across the newspaper machines. I know it's a trivial display of civil disobedience but it still felt pretty cool. Other people on the Al Dia page on Facebook said they were going to add theirs as well. It's not the Boston Tea Party but it's a start. The saga continues...

I was thinking about Tom Foote today. It's so weird to think he's been gone 19 years just about to the minute. It was a hot night that night too. He was supposed to be playing at the Rhythm Room and never made it. Drag. The saga continues...

Jeff Liles called me and said that there was a storm coming and he thought it would be a good time to shoot some video. I agreed and ended up completely soaked and had a great time. This is a song I first heard done by the Loco Gringos written by the late great Doug Sahm.

The Austin shows went well. I had equipment problems, as usual but we made it through both shows unscathed and they were well attended. It was really nice to see lots of familiar faces, many of which I hadn't seen in many years. Now I'm focusing on the Barry Kooda Combo stuff and hoping that the Nate benefit comes together. Seems like it's sorta ify at the moment but we'll see. The saga continues...
Bruce will guide us.

So the duplex next door is up for sale for a whole lot less than I was expecting. It's on the tax rolls at 105k but the asking price is 49k. It doesn't have central air or heat and needs work but it's structurally sound and it would be cool to own it. I'm sure I could make the payments with rent but I'd have to come up with at least 10k and qualify for another loan or get another home equity loan for the full amount. We'll just have to see what happens. I think I'd make a pretty good slumlord. The saga continues...

I went to TMO's memorial service and saw a whole lot of people I haven't seen an a long time. I think that Whip "n Dip would have been a better location or a parking lot somewhere but this service was really nice. After the formal ceremony, TMO's brother talked a while and shared his feelings and memories and opened the mic for the rest of the group. I listened to a few but I don't do too well in those sort of situations and slid out when I could. It really was a nice service and I was really glad to see old friends again. The saga continues...

I got the urge to try my hand at another medium since I get bored easily so this time I'm making silk screens of some of my drawings and incorporating them into painted canvasses. I made a cast of a dead gar out of plaster and made it the center of one of the pieces and I think I like it the best. I go for the 3D stuff though.

Laura and I had a really nice anniversary. (31st) We ate a late lunch at Sapporo all you can eat sushi buffet and then hit a few thrift stores before heading to the Belmont Hotel with a pizza. We watched some TV and then braved the cold to go swimming in their heated saltwater pool. Steam was rising from the surface and, every once in a while, it would form little tornadoes a few inches across and up to six or so feet high. It was pretty neat. Then we went back to the room and made a hot bubble bath in the HUGE soaking tub in the bedroom. It was a really nice, relaxing evening and Laura gave me a parchment she'd made for me that had the "Top Ten Reasons I Love You". I sure do love her... The saga continues
