Hi...
Just a little note, there wont be any Innerise upates, new tracks etc now for a while. I am going to be taking a break to concentrate on other interests.
New Innerise material that is currently in progress will get finished then who knows. But for now, its time to pack up and try something else.

Make Mine Music releases a collection of exclusive tracks showcasing the work of artists on the innovative label as it reaches its landmark 50th release.  After quietly releasing a range of critically acclaimed albums and EPs, Make Mine Music now boldly state their manifesto.

These are difficult times for the music industry with filesharing, illegal downloads and falling sales. The traditional music business model is failing and record labels are scrabbling to find a way to survive.  Artists too are campaigning for better copyright laws and greater shares of royalties through coalitions.  But these still rely on an outdated model of releasing music.  For Make Mine Music, this isn't a crisis.  It's a golden opportunity.

Make Mine Music is a truly radical independent label, run and owned by the artists themselves. The artists pay for the manufacture and promotion of their own records and correspondingly receive 100% of any income generated.  There are no management pockets to line, no shareholders to please, no restrictive contracts or demands placed upon the artists. Six years and 50 releases after its inception, Make Mine Music is proof that there is another way.  It's time for other artists and labels to catch up.

MMM050 is available now for £5 from www.makeminemailorder.com but is free when you buy any two MMM CDs from us.  The CD will released on Monday 24 November 2008 in high street shops and through internet retailers.

Hi

I have put up a new mix of a track from the Innerise album, Western Sky Music - Its called Your Girls (the Honey Bunny remix).

I was very lucky, Wil Bolton (Cheju) has helped me out with this by adding bass and some drum parts...Plus Katherine (Laska) supplied the vocals..

Let me know what you think.

While finally getting around to starting (and in one case nearly finishing) new Innerise tracks, i thought it would be interesting/funny to go through the archive of Innerise tracks i have either on cdr, tape or mindisc.

So until i have enough new material to start putting up here, i will add every now and again a old track from the archives. Some might be quite good and some might be a load of old pants - but its fun anyway...

Hi..

Below is a review of my album by The Black and White Magazine

www.theblackandwhitemag.com

Recording under the name Innerise, Tarl Ashman crafts a rich collage of glitches, sweeping synths, subtle drones, and latte-inspired beatwork. Dropping a 57 minute, 13 track debut (Western Sky Music), this record is thick in substance and high on ambition. The fusion of synth-pop and ambient electronica often collide with the beautiful guest vocals of Katherine Cobley. Innerise wears its gorgeous influences on its sleeve, and this debut is all the better for it. Mixing Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, and recent Blonde Redhead, Western Sky Music is an ambient record that engages you rather than puts you to sleep. The dense drones of "Searchlight" are chilling, much like many of the tracks heard here. However, after repeated listening to Innerise, I find that while there is a linear melancholy presence, the final outcome is something more along the lines of semi-accessible electro-pop. If you're looking for an album to get lost in...absorbed
