We've had a few messages asking to post lyrics to Free Agent Crew songs - so here they are;

More to come shortly...

Snake Bite

Verse One

She was showing me poetry knowing me as she did

She was utterly buttery acting just like a kid

It was what it was so I did what I did

Preserve the perseverance let the story begin

She had a tattoo of my name before I met her

I thought – how coincidental could that be

It was one of those days,

I wish that was the excuse and to think that she was thinking of me

I still remember the first time I met her

She caught my heart like a butterfly collector

She was sugar and soap and wrapped in cocaine

And from then things could never ever ever be the same

Verse Two

She was the polka dot the girl in a world of her own

Refused to listen to all the things she'd been shown

She was my one girl caught in my Sunday world

It was the way it was, was the way it was was because - She

held her head up and asked had you forgotten me

I'm still fighting between love and mediocrity

No stopping me

I wondered how long it would last

But you can not predict the future from the past

Chorus:

She was the

Snake bite

She held me close because it felt right

And I was standing in the street light

She said

A pinky promise and all could be forgotten

But the snake snake bite

It wasn't wrong because it felt right

I could have sworn it was the moonlight

I was -

The pinky promise and all had been forgotten

Verse 3

They said that change was as good as a holiday

I forgot to say

This is the same like when your pet dog runs away

They all said I used you as crutch

But the way I see it is like when starsky called hutch

And I never asked much

Just a quick smile and a hug or two

I wasn't saying thankyou and I love you too

I'm saying thankyou for the things I'd sworn I'd never do

So goodbye and farwell to the things we never knew.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Silver Cloud

Verse One

I heard that every single cloud had a silver lining

Been a few days and seem to be finding – that

Not much remains of the yesteryear

The time has passed and that's my greatest fear

If every dog has its day then why am I here

I'm sick of running the rat race the crowds and the bad beer

I'm in a world where I wanna stay faceless

Keep your high profile presence I'm on a need to know basis

I remain nameless

And keep my head down and look away

It's kinda funny that I have nothing more to say

So set that cat amongst the pigeons and make sure they learnt it

The story is we'll cross that bridge when we burnt it

Release it from the grips of grievance, I have a plan

I can still remember walking where the old boatshed used to stand

I'm feeling empty and know I'm falling out of range

Theirs is no reason for the season to change

It's like that fear of heights hookers hope and violence

I once knew this girl who was scared of silence

So -

Reminds us of a time when we were all scared

But that was the day when the world you see it really cared

It was what it was cause it was all we knew

This is the cordial orgy and I've seen it through

Your eyes used to be the window to the soul

But now your myspace profile fills that black hole

In this era I'm not too concerned with dangers

A bottle of red wine, and no ego allows me to sleep with strangers

So call me the square peg in the round hole

Or the dare devil with no soul

The rebel with no goal

Or tremble and go home

And wait for your knight in shining Armani

The reason for the season is you can't harm me

Chorus:

I can whisper so fate won't know

I know this nice place that we an go

It's real quiet where the red wine flow

With lots of people that we dont't know

We won't ever stop

Because, we don't know what the fuck we want x 4

Verse 2:

This is my first attempt at honesty so promise me you won't ask

This is the truth and I've tried hard to remove the mask

I can't remember the last time and it comes as no surprise

I'm still trying to remember your smell and the colour of your eyes

But if we meet again, I promise you I won't look back

And all the disappointment, we'll, we can work on that

But I just want to leave you standing here on your own two feet

You deserve more to make your self feel complete

To give you an explanation and all the things that you deserve

I'd give you everything if I thought that you would have the world

But I can see the piece you think is missing

Even though I'm not there, you need to know I'm listening

I hear your heart ache and all the things that you crave

You deserve it all, you'll get it, have patience and please be brave

It's a big world so hold tight and punch it back

I wish there was enough time I would have told you that

Maybe wrong time, wrong channel or wrong place

But hear me when I say I miss that smile across your face

But when its gone I hope you ain't forgotten me

So please girl, just consider this my apology.

Chorus:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We don't stop

We dont stop, beacuse you don't stop
The Free Agent take it back the top x 2

Sean Sheap:

What you gotta do is stay focused

Hold on tight to your goal

Pull the diamond out the coal and excersise your soul

Like a muscle and break away from the

hussell and the bussell of the working day

Thats not the way to win a life,

Tax politicians and strife just got me

chokin and i'm just your average bloke in

his surroundings, compounding, all the good

times in to one big release

and try to learn the meaning of piece

Chorus:

Simon Grant:

I'm too young to sing the blues so i write raps

I'm just a camera stuck on time lapse

I don't get much sleep just a few short naps

It's been a long time coming, but now I'm back

It's like, I've been searching and looking for sound

We're bringing friction to your one horse town

And I'm down, we been around in variouse places

check it out now, we on a first name basis!

---------------------------------------------

Deep End

I had a plan to take over the world

All i needs a helicopter and a beautiful girl

we're sitting high above sea level, it the devil you know (what?)

is better than the devil you don't

Don't bother asking, its the proably wont's

Were just microscopic people in small white boats

I wanna make the world sit up and take notice

No more of this hocus-pocus or let the rest of the world provoke use

No more in betweens, were thinking just like machines

I wanna try to understand what love really means

It's a hectic pace, as we float through space

Do we live for ever fighting, do we never embrace - so -

I've devised a plan where i can take a stand

and maybe we can see the day when i can hold your hand

and we can have what we need, and never need greed

she said; just show me that you mean it and just let your heart bleed

wear it on your sleeve

it's been a while since we shared a drink

that's not why i brought you here, but maybe its just so you'll think

but you'll never know and i'd prefer if you don't let me go

sticks and stones are breaking bones, but hey i guess you'll never know

Chorus:

I was shallow 'till they through me in the deep end x 3
To befriend all of these things that i should depend on.

Verse 2:

I'm a time waster

procrastinator

the love to hate ya

i'll tell you all about it later

i keep beats for weeks

i wont admit defeats

i'm in between the sheets that i forgot about the streets

so i decipher between heaven and earth

and most can be distinguished as some water and dirt

is that over analytical, hypocritical, clinical - stale and just a little too cynical

This week i wanna chat to an emo

trying to find them selves like we were trying to find nemo

i'm sick of playing this game i'm talking to people these days that won't remember my name

but it's cool, i keep on strollin' it whilst walking to home storing ideas on a cellular phone

Chorus:

Hi All,
Here at free agent crew we are constantly asked about their live show - the live band and the DJ Set and what exactly is 'the go' with the band. So here's a bit of history on where it all started, we thought you had a right to know ;)

so here's the deal;

Free Agent Crews original conception came from MC, Simon Grant who was a starving artist living on the streets in London in the late 1980's, struggling to make ends meet in a city that could be so cold -

Well, not really but it adds to the effect I guess. Anyway.

Simon had been writing music and lyrics to record for some time while travelling and living in Manchester, England in 2006 after several other projects in Australia had fallen by the wayside. Simon packed his bags and set up shop in the UK to see where it would take him.

At the same time, little to his knowledge on the other side of the world in the quaint little suburb of Dapto, past collaborator and all-round good guy, Sean Sheap was hard at work pumping out beats for 2nd album and the follow up to his record the golden fleece released in a world far, far away.

Unbeknown to one another and their movements after losing contact during a huge diamond heist in spain in 1999, the two would continue on their chosen paths until they would finally meet in a casino-like venue hosting bad cover bands, cheap beer and over priced tequilla - better known as Dapto leagues club. The two would then rekindle the flame which once was funky beats and slamming lyrics representing and 'keeping it real' for the whole of the hip hop massive - World-wide yo!

After battling for supremecy on church lawns and main roads the two final found peace within themselves and each other and made the pact on releasing a record.

The first EP - produced by Sean and Simon, the two turned down offers from Rick Ruben, Kool Herc and Kamahl and chose to go about it there own way.

In short, without too much small talk the band started as a DJ/MC setup. And in essence that is Free Agent Crew. The live band has been something that was not expected - but is too much fun to ignore.
Being live interpretations from the sessions from Sean Sheaps Shearing Shed Studios

After finding other members on a similar level - past and present; Johnno, Nat, Isy and Levi Marsh, Wayne Rigby, Nick Meredeth, Adam Smyth, Harley Economou, and more recently Micheal Hodgins and Shaun Snider the live band has been pushed, pulled, shaken, stired, flipped, sterilised, washed and paturised to be the best it can be, and things will only get better.

Some gigs more memorable than others, some gigs... well, Sylvania Maccas is as good as it gets, and its usually a long drive home for the guys.

The live show will always be all it can be under the circumstances. To continue to support the acts that they do, sometimes a 7 piece line up just isn't an option. But when it is, you'll know about it.

So sick with the crew, they love you and need your support. I hope this explains at least a little something to the complexity which is FREE AGENT CREW.

Please leave your shoes at the door.

  Charlie Stephens
