With his first solo CD, "An Ocean Of Dreams," Achim Wierschem, a.k.a. Mindmovie, composer, guitarist and keyboard player presents a new and amazing chapter for all friends of Flaming Bess and progressive rock music. This project has been realized with band colleagues and several guests from Germany, America, UK, Spain, Portugal, France (including my very good friend, Yves Sordage) and the Netherlands. The first 500 orders will receive the CD, "An Ocean Of Dreams" with the limited Bonus-CD. You can listen and purchase tracks now at the FB CD-shop at www.flaming-bess.de  and most online music stores.

I'm honored that I was able to play and be a part of this exciting project as I feel that Achim is one of the pioneers of progressive rock. His compositions with Flaming Bess are not unfamiliar to those in many music circles throughout Europe and his long-awaited CD, I do not doubt, will capture the attention of prog fans around the globe. I play the nylon string guitar as well as the second rhythm and solo guitar on track 3: "Mekon Peppers." On the bonus CD, I play electric guitar on track 8: "I Can't be Sure but I Think I Love You."

Hi everybody. My friend, Chip (a.k.a. Warren Russell - Quicksilver Night Productions) wrote this about me and Paradise Swamp in a review which I feel is worthy of a posting. Please read & enjoy...

It is a moist Sunday night here at my home in Virginia Beach but I’m not there at the moment, I’m in "Paradise Swamp." What useful can I write about Catherine Delgadillo’s "Paradise Swamp" that might interest prospective CD purchasers? She’s such a multi-faceted and eclectic artist… Okay, I think I’ve got it now… "Paradise Swamp" is an aural treat, earthy and sensual melodies performed with a spiritual sense of tone and rhythm. As it is with musicians of her caliber, she is an artist; her songs are paintings in which every brushstroke is meaningful. A multi-instrumentalist, her music displays an awareness of each note and each nuance of that note, when to speak and when to remain silent … every musical syllable uttered is spoken with a purpose, like a conversation between friends that listen to each other rather than merely waiting for their chance to speak. Stylistically speaking, I hesitate to pigeonhole the work with arbitrary labels but I also do not want to throw so many superlative adjectives about that they become meaningless. The music is, above all, lush with an uncommon depth of composition. Catherine’s tones tend to lean in the direction of jazz fusion with undeniable progressive echoes … at various times I found myself thinking of Alan Holdsworth, Carlos Santana, Steve Howe, David Gilmour, Al DiMeola … the list could easily continue but that would be pointless, it’s all Catherine. I’m hard-pressed to point out any particular moments as being personal favorites; every song carries the seeds of transcendence. I am at this very second immersed in the absolutely gorgeous "Through the Window" and transported by it’s instrumental lyricism but will again find myself in moments to be a thousand miles away to "Another Level" with it’s own dramatic expression … each song is a world entire and Catherine will be your guide if you let her take you on this amazing journey.

Current mood:  cheerful

Hey there friends & fans!

Well, it's been almost a month since I released my first solo cd!  I've sold a few hundred copies and so far the feedback has been great!  I'm not out touring yet but will be performing at two private functions, one in January and the other in May.  I haven't performed live much since my hard-rock days, gigging in the Bay Area as a lead singer/guitar player so, needless to say, it'll be a good warm up for me!

It comes as a surprise to some that I not only play guitar on my cd but keyboards as well.  In fact, most of the music I wrote on the keys & then added guitar later.  I favor the guitar but do enjoy playing both instruments.  The only drawback though is the amount of work, time & effort it took to get my tracks ready for mixing just a few short months ago.  You could say, it was definitely a labor of love though.  I could never see myself up until the wee hours every morning for weeks on end doing anything but my music.

Well, here it is.... my first blog!  I hope you get a chance to check out more of my music & maybe even buy a cd as a little gift for yourself (or someone else... but if you're like me, keep the stuff you like for yourself! :)

xoxo ~Catherine~
