Hey Y'all

It's been a crazy month of travel and some milestones. We had a great run of a dance piece by Chris Black here in San Francisco which I did the music to. It was called Pastime and both the movement and the music were all based on baseball. We broadcast the score on a little micro radio station that we created on location. It was a great project to be a part of, sorry if you missed it.

The Big News: one thing that you shouldn't miss is Sean Penn's new movie (he's the Director) I have some music in it (very exciting), AND it's a good movie, maybe a great movie, so you should all go out and see it! The music is a tune I wrote called "Fork and File" on the last Crooked Jades record, and is played by myself (on big and little banjos, and Bruce Kaphan, on fork and file- Jeff was the inspiration for the tune as he spent a long time looking for the right fork to make a good sound). My music comes in as the main character is kayaking down the river, he runs into a Danish couple, they eat "hot dogs" and then my music finishes out the scene. I must say it was very exciting to see my name roll by (nice-n-slow) in the credits.

Well, there you go, that's what's up lately,

Erik
