As a little recession-busting gift of gratitude to you, I'm offering my latest album, "What Happened?!", absolutely FREE at the link below, via Talking House Records.

"What Happened?!" is my "mash-note" to hip-hop, featuring remixes, bonus tracks from the Grab Bag sessions, a live left hook track, an instrumental track for MCs, an a cappella track for DJs, and super-fresh special guests like beatjazz pioneer Onyx Ashanti (Soul II Soul, Basement Jaxx), Grammy-nominated cellist Joan Jeanrenaud, drummer extraordinaire Kevin Carnes (Broun Fellinis, George Clinton, Black Quarterback), and more. Songs like "Happy Hour", "Freaky Delights", and "Good Move/Bad Move" were designed with summertime in mind......download and enjoy now, and thank you for your support! Hit me with your faves when you get a chance, too.

It's waiting for you here:

A couple new things coming out this year.....first is my electro boom-bap version of Prince's "Sign O' the Times", which will be included on a great new Prince tribute album which also features cool folks like Shock G (of Digital Underground), Anne Marie Almedal (check out her album on Warner Brothers Norway) and lots more, including a very special executive producer. Due out in early summer from a Minneapolis-based indie. More news as I get it.

Next up is a first for me; a "mixtape" of beats, remixes, "Grab Bag" bonus tracks, and other goodies, all original, and all FREE. It'll be called "What Happened?!" and will be available through Talking House.

Stay tuned!

Check out the brand new track, "Happy Hour", an exclusive single that will be available later this year from Talking House Records. In addition to my usual retro-futuristic musical toolbox, for this track I also used different iphone apps (applications that turn the iphone into an electronic musical instrument that can be played via the touch screen) to create many of the sounds.

We're due back at the SF Apple Store sometime soon....it's a blast to perform there, and we'll for sure bust this one out. Hope you enjoy!

Check out the video for "Family Matters" right here on the myspace page, streaming from imeem. It was directed by my filmmaker brother Alex Muñoz.

Special thanks to the great team that worked on the video---I don't have everyone's names, but here's most of 'em: Josiah Hooper, Thu Vo, John Roposas, Katie Rivera, AJ Calomay, Julius Sambajon Jr., and Adam Delmendo. I'm appreciatin' the love!

Enjoy!

Just got word that a record I produced this year, STRANGE TOYS, the sophomore release by the brilliant cellist Joan Jeanrenaud, is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (Without Orchestra) category of the Classical field.

Joan is every bit deserving of this award! If you haven't already, check out the record:

Grab Bag is recommended in the December issue of Electronic Musician....check out the online version
here.

It's extra-sweet for me, 'cause I'm a longtime fan of the editor, Gino Robair, who in his other life is an amazing avant-garde percussionist and composer. Check his stuff out here:
