Hey gang,

The new Helix entitled Vagabond Bones will be released on November 17th through Fontana/Universal in Canada and Perris Records in the US, but it is available for pre-order from Planet Helix right now! This will ensure early delivery. I am very proud of my involvement with this record, and I must say it was an absolute honour to work alongside the original 80's line-up of the band. Moe Berg from The Pursuit of Happiness helped out with the writing on 4 tracks as well. Get your copy NOW!

Hey everyone, Forgive the lack of updates...trust me, it has not been for lack of activity! I recently was asked to play guitar for international superstar Nelly Furtado, and I have been having a great time with the gig! My first show with Nelly was in Mexico City , where we played in front of 165,000 people! What a rush! We recently got back from LA where we did the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, The ALMA awards (which aired on ABC), and an acoustic show at KTLA (where we were followed by KISS, who showed up in full make-up). I am getting ready to head to Europe with Nelly for a series of promo appearances and acoustic shows that will take us to the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and Holland. Also, I am pleased to announce that the new Helix record (which I co-wrote, co-produced, and played on) is ready for the presses! The album is called "Vagabond Bones" and I am VERY proud of it! As I mentioned before, I was playing bass with Helix, and this eventually lead to a writing relationship between myself and Brian Vollmer. When the Nelly gig was offered to me, I had to leave the Helix gig (amicably, of course), and Brian gave me his full support and blessing. We knew we had something special with our writing relationship, so we continued work on the album. While I was very sad to leave Helix, it opened the door for a very special occurrence...a reunion of the classic 80's line-up! As Helix was the first band I ever saw in concert, and my favourite Canadian Hard Rock band of all time, it was a true dream come true to have the original guys in the studio working on songs that I had co-written and was producing! When you hear Vagabond Bones, I'm sure you'll all agree that there is something magical that happens when these musicians are in a room together...I am so proud of this record! Many thanks to Moe Berg for his co-writing contributions on 4 tracks! As some of you know, I also play with the legendary Carole Pope, and she recently released a two song singe on I-Tunes, Shining Path/Tell Me. I contributed bass guitar to the song Tell Me, I had a great time doing my best McCartney, haha. Carole is an incredible artist, go and check out those tunes! Finally, CK recently played with Helix in Toronto at Rock N Roll Heaven...thing have been a little quiet on the Crash Kelly front, but I have been working on some new material, and the recent gig reminded me of how great it is to get up and rock with these guys...watch for some new rock action in 2010! All the best!! Sean

Hey gang!

It is my great pleasure to announce that CK will be sharing the stage with the legendary Thin Lizzy in Windsor, ON on July 14th!

Anyone who is familiar with CK knows just how special this gig is to me...Lizzy has been a primary inspiration for me as a writer and guitarist. The 2009 Lizzy line-up features Scott Gorham and John Sykes, as well as one of my all-time favourite drummers Tommy Aldridge. While I'l never get a chance to share a pint with Phil Lynott, it will be my great honour to make some music with the keepers of his legacy.

I'm really excited that my good friend James Robertson from Down With Webster will be joining us on bass for this show. James produced my Christmas Guitar album, and also played bass with us on the Gilby Clarke tour in 2008. We're all really excited to have him back for this gig.

Finally, I'd like to wish Allister Thompson good luck with his future musical endeavors...he's just released a solo CD of folk-rock tunes called Shadowlands, so watch for him in and around Toronto. Allister has been trying to leave the band gracefuly for a few years, but I kept pulling him back in, haha!. However, all things must pass, and I'm grateful for his efforts. Take care, dude.

So, while the CK calendar is a little quiet this summer, we'll make one hell of a noise at The Blind Dog Concert Hall in Windsor!

Hey everyone, First of all, let me say a big THANK YOU for all of you messages and letters! I really appreciate hearing from everyone...we rock n roll fans have to stick together! Ya know, they keep telling me that the music industry is dying on the vine, and yet here we are in 2009, and reaching more people than ever...in fact, I'm finding it is MUCH easier to get in touch with the exact people who will dig the type of music that we're doing....life is good! Things have been quiet on the live front...my agent assures me that there will be summer gigs happening very soon here in Canada. We would LOVE to get back to the US and Europe, and eventually over to Japan, but economics can make that very difficult! However, I am very hopeful that Crash Kelly will get out there again soon. In the meantime, I have been VERY busy working with Helix...we are writing for the new Helix record, and gearing up for a bunch of gigs, so it's looking like it's gonna be a crazy summer...can't wait for Rocklahoma, hope to meet some of you there! I'm also working on my next nylon string record, and doing some writing and session work on some other projects...however, I am still working on material for the next CK release...while not being out and touring is a drag, the good news is that I have had more time to write, so creatively, I've been having a blast. Anyway, please keep the letters coming...it's so great to hear from you! Sean
