Current mood:  calm
Hello to anyone who has had any interest in the Leif Ericsson over the 8 years or so that we were going.

It is now finished. Due to a bizarre, lame, fizzling out that i can neither understand myself or even begin to explain here.

Everyone involved in the band had a great time and enjoyed it all (i think & hope). There are so many people to thank from the 8 years - the gigs, records and opportunities afforded to us would never have been possible without a myriad of people from all over the world - so, to you, our genuine thanks.

Not surprisingly, we have a load of stuff in the way of records/t-shirts/CD's etc. Most of this will be sold off cheap to anyone that is bothered. Details to come.

Thanks once again. We will be doing further musical ventures I'm sure. Just not this one.

Cheers Neil.

Hello.

Yep, our short 5 date tour of California was fantastic. We flew into SF, hired a Chrysler Aspen that seated 8 people and fucked off round Cali for a right laugh. Gigs were great, people were great and the place is very great. A lot of people pulled through for us and did far more to help out than they needed to. First and foremost we'd like to thank Theo and Jackie who basically set the tour up and provided us with a base to work from, we couldnt have been made to feel more at home. Jackson and Ryoko who travelled with us, tour managed us and did a lot to help out and organise us (cos we aint organised). Jeff and all at 924 Gilman Street, Berekley. Stormy Vehnekamp from Leave Home booking and Eddie from Numbskull Shows, thanks for letting us play. Eric and Audrey from San Luis/Santa Barbera, great gigs, cheers! Basically, we borrowed/used stuff by virtually every band we played with so a real genuine thanks to all those bands - they are all listed on our list of all gigs we have ever played - here - www.theleifericsson.co.uk/gigs.xls - we just wouldnt have been able to tour without people lending us drum kits and speaker cabinets so thanks again. Anyone we met over there, please get in touch and say hello, otherwise hopefully we'll make it back one day.

Hello.

Again, to whom it may concern...

Yes the Leif Ericsson are gigging again. Well, from the 26th March onwards, we are looking to get as many dates in as we can until the end of July, after that it's back to work sorting the next record out. If anyone is interested in sorting a gig out for us that'd be fantastic, message us and we'll reply promptly.

Other news is that the aforementioned Southport split should be released in about 4 weeks from now, although it has changed format from 7" to CD, 2 tracks from each band. This will be available from ourselves or from Roadkill Records, who are dealing with the release.
Bombed Out records will be releasing a 12" picture disc version of our first album. We're hoping that this will be ready for when we start playing live again at the end of March.

Thats all for now, cheers, tLE.

Hello,

For anyone thats interested!! - - - -

the Leif Ericsson are  doing no gigs from now until February.  Thanks for the offers for people we've had to turn down, sorry about that but we'll definitely be looking to play as much as we can over the middle part of next year.

We're writing a new album and set and have a couple of other bits to tie up aswell like a split 7" with Southport on Roadkill Records and a new Tour EP for next year.

If anyone's reading this who puts gigs on, please bear us in mind for next year. Other than that, look out for the new records 1st half of 2008!!

Cheers tLE
