Current mood:pedantic
Recently we embarked on our first tour as a band. We met some awesome people and saw some amazing places. We found out music is a great means to see the country.  We would like to thank all of the great people that came out to see us and hung out with us on our time away from home.  Thanks to anyone who accepted a flyer from D.
We were fortunate enough to stay in a couple awesomely sleezy motels in South Bend and Cincinnati. Johnson City, Tennessee has some of the coolest people around and is a hidden gem.  As soon as we got to Asheville, NC we found a trail and got a good hike in before we hit our new favorite city.  If you haven't been to Asheville, go.  A terriffic music town.  We played with "Now You See Them" at The Boiler Room.  Charleston, South Carolina was beautiful as always.  Visiting with friends from home(Wes and Baber) and meeting new friends. Thank you to Karen for housing our tom foolery for the evening.  The Broadstreet Cafe in Durham has the best Pizza in the carolinas, hands down.  Pittsburgh brought us to meet some very cool people and play with some very good bands at Howlers.
We're never going to forget the week we spent driving around in my pick up truck. We will have pleanty of pictures posted very soon. Look for a new song to be posted in early June. Thanks for your support and keep living the honest life.

Current mood:march madness

(Read this with a british accent please)

Wedensday, March 18th, 2009 The Honest Life played at Rack n Roll in Rivierview, Michigan. It happens to be the closest venue to our houses so it was nice we only had to drive like 10 minutes to get there and back home.  The lineup was James Bishop, The Wolves, Brave Captain, The Honest Life, Farewell Flight, and Orfeo.  There wasn't one person or group who dissapointed.  It was probably one of the better shows in the area since super bowl sunday when we dominated the modern exchange with Jamestown Story, Take Cover, and No Really. Anyways, the sound quality was awesome, more people came out than expected, and "Pants"(bahtendah @ R&R) was there so i had a woody on stage.

All in all it was a great night.  Farwell Flight was once again one of the best, unsigned, touring bands that i have seen live. We always have a blast with all those guys. We got up to 20 people dancing to a bunch of their songs, it was bad ass.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We do have some news that may come to bit of a surprise to some poeple who have been following closely.  Though we have known all along that a full time spot in The Honest Life for Sarah wasn't a certainty, she has decided to explore her musical outlets in other forms.  We are in complete understanding of her decision and support her where ever she goes and what ever she does because we all love her like a sister.  In the last 3 months ive been fortunate enough to gain another long lasting relationship in my life and for that i am thankful.

SO....D, Joel, and myself are going to keep on truckin and writing, and playing shows, and doing all the things necessary to live the honest life. There WILL be a new track availabe for listening in late May or early June so stay tuned for that.

Thanks guys and gals ans Sauls and Sals,
Adam

Current mood:I love Eisley
Last night we traveled from our island to Sebewaing, a small town in
the thumb of Michigan.  We played at the live wired coffee house which
is located below a cool little church set in the woods.

  D
and I played there about a year ago and when we showed up we didn't
really know what to think, but then we went down into the coffee house
there were tons of kids genuinely excited to hear us play. It makes a
21/2 hour drive worth while.

I could say the same thing about last night.  There may not have been
100 people there. It may not have been a prestigious venue, but there
were enough people who were genuinely interested to hear our music.  It
was nice we could play acoustic as well, it's much easier to blend 3
and 4 voices with out having to deal with a PA and monitors.

 Some highlights:
-
D was intimidating to some of the girls. He wouldnt let anyone get up
and use the bathroom while Matt Moore was playing his set. He would
just use his metal stare down with the chest puff + the step up and
they would get scared and sit back down.
- Joel at one point looked like a stressed out, single mother of 5, but also won the headbanging contest.
- Sarah found bobby fisher, beat him in chess, then beat him to a bloody pulp.
- We have added a stylist/transportation-manger/glucose supplier - all in one(Jenn)...her new nickname is "slash" though.
- Jenn almost fought a little girl but then she just fought me.
- I won the dance contest with my "double light bulb twist + the side to side shuffle" - no one can ever match it.

Thanks Sebewaing,
Adam and The Honest Life

Current mood:  high
Hellouu,

We are now a 4 piece ladies and gentlemen, and loving it.   Welcome Joel and Sarah Stuk to the honest life roster.  There's a breathe of fresh air to a breath of fresh air, so i dont see where you could go wrong.   D and I grew up with Joel and Sarah  in the same town/island about 35 minutes south of Detroit.
We crossd paths about a year and a half ago when Sarah and Joel lived right down the street from me.  D and Sarah would cross paths jamming on the Macomb St. benches and decided to jam.  We were really impressed with her rhythm abilities and her unique voice so she played a gig with us(awesome show btw) and we continued to jam with her and Joel(15 at the time). Sarah graduated from high school and did the University thang and continued to broaden her musical horizons.  When i first heard Joel a couple summers ago i knew he was a great guitar player and singer. In November we got a message from Joel wanting to know if we want to jam sometime. Naturally we got together because D and i were looking to add some other peices to the Honest puzzle. I dont know that i needed to hear more than the first song he played for us.  We were both pretty blown away by what a sophisticated musician Joel is.  It was an instant "click".  Sarah then came and jammed, and it again was an instant "click".
We've been getting sharp with everybody on our set that we have right now, and soon enough we'll be writing new songs with the new members.  We plan on playing as much as possible in the coming times and if you would like us to come to your city let us know.  For now enjoy our EP and tell your friends to tell their friends about us!!!!

I've gota thank everybody for leaving comments, listening to us, and leaving us awesome messages so much in the recent times.  It means a lot to all of us.  Its what fuels us to promote our creativity. Peace, Adam.

+ New Pictures...checkem out....leave us some comments

Hey everybody this is D. The other night Adam and I got into a discussion about how it would be cool if, when you die, you could see a book filled with stats of all the things you did in your life; how many steps you took, or miles you walked, how many breathes you took, and stuff like that. The book will also give you the average, the highest, and lowest number for each stat as well, so you can compare your number can see where you stand. And then naturally, since we're boys, we started thinking about how many times you pooped and how many times you farted. haha. We went on for so long, so now and i am wondering what topics you would want to know about yourself. how many hours of music you've listened to, how many movies you've seen, how many times you went to T-Bell mmmmm T-Bell. Anyways, what do you want included in your book?

heey everybody whats up? this is D. It's been a really really long time since we've posted a blog, so I figured we should probably get back at it again.

We fiiiiiinally got our first CD out. It's a 5 song EP called "A Breath Of Fresh Air" and it features some of the best songs we've been playing for the past few years.

We've also been back playing shows for the past few weeks after having taking a break from playing over the summer. It's been really niice to get back out there and see all of our fans.

It also has a few extra instruments on it like piano, violin, cello, tambourine and even some harmonica :)

Well that's enough for now. i don't wanna say to much now or i won't have anything to blog about later.
