in many ways ,this gig was seen by the sonny j crew as a homecoming of sorts.and what a homecoming it was.we were welcomed with open arms by an ecstatic and clearly up for it crowd.there was just a special tension and vibration that it was going to go off-maybe cos the sun was going down when we went on stage,or maybe not.who knows ?who cares ?
but whatever it was, everything fell into place,just right on saturday night .thanx to the many fans that were rockin',rollin' and old skool raving to our set..we dripped sweat to keep our beats compact.
in the words of those wise old dogs,funkadelic,

to those in the canterbury area-git yo asses down to lounge on the farm this saturday.the sonny j live revue is coming to town.we will be joined onstage by dj readybreak,who will be there to make sure our vibe is kosher,and our beats intact.thanks to those who have witnessed our live shows recently-hultsfred[sweden],blenheim palace,abersoch,glastonbury ,plus jon kennedy of xfm [where we dug some acoustica] , have all been host to our funkaliousness.it's been messy,durrty,and surreal,but always fun.and with lounge this weekend,creamfields,some tv shows and some new dates added in scotland,[the details of which will be announced shortly],it promises to keep on being a sonny summer.sonnically speaking of course,my dear friends.

blogs,they do insist on gittin on yer wick don't they folks ? i feel like i'm turning into lily ber-loody allen writin all this stuff..still..had a crackin' bank holiday boozin' n munchin' at the may day [sonny's b'day] celebrations in whitstable.the locals put on their annual wicker man style festival ;y'know the type,crocodiles heads,walking trees,folk in bear outfits,pagan dancing.i only tipped up cos i thought britt ekland might be dancin' herself into a dervish in the buff.alas,i was dissapointed,but i did end up inside a huge wicker man full of live animals for not puttin' me album out sooner.i thought i'm done for,the lord mayor's gonna reach for his clipper n put the whole thing up in flames.luckily,i performed an acapella version of enfant terrible and..phew...i had turned the whole situation round..if only ole woodward had done that instead of dronin on with the the lord's prayer or lord is my shepherd or whatever it was,he might have gotten out with his tackle intact..come to think of it,he must have done,cos he ended up as the equalizer...1-1.
