The Question I would like to pose to all my friends and those soon to be is:
Does the Imus situation speak to the bigger issue of Pornography, video vixens, swimsuit and lingerie modeling, or exotic dancing as a voluntary form of mysogyny or did a tired , out of date old man just put his foot in it?  It's so easy to play the race card on so many issues but, was that racist if, by supporting the joke, he used Spike Lee's movie which had barely one white person in the cast?  Now, don't get me wrong, folks, I feel his comments were NOT jokes, were NOT funny, and were NOT called for at all!  I also feel that there is a way of thinking that is prevalent in our society with men AND women alike:  We ALL got a lil' Freak in us!  This speaks volumes about a society that, since the 20's, is fully accepting in the show of skin, admiration and adoration of the female (and male) anatomy, and the, I would say, measured tolerance of some form of pornography (long as the kids are sleep, right?).  Mr. Imus' dispicable choice of "banter" has opened a whole can of issues that EVERY culture has delved in, in varying degrees.  As Snoop said, "We (rap artists) are'nt referring to collegiate female basketball players...", but there is a reference to a particular kind of female/male that we ALL know and can recognize INSTANTLY: The Freak.  Thus, that old fool's comments aside, what would we, as a society, do about "the oldest profession"?  About young girls worldwide being sold into physical bondage and monetary servitude?  There will always be a "Red Light District" in every city in the world.  There will always be a level of acceptance with prostitution/exotic dancing/modeling (nude or lingerie) and pornography and as Rev.'s Jesse and Al continue to lobby for the removal of "Gangsta Rap" to perhaps lessen or eliminate mysogyny in our everyday language, remember "Gangsta Rap" spoke to and for an audience that had no voice, a community that had very little representation:  The Ghetto.  I think we will always give a slight nudge and wink to the "profession".  As more and more victims of rape by priests step forward and church sweeps it under the rug by just relocating these newly undocumented sex offenders instead of actively pursuing criminal charges being leveled against them, and as there are publications that pay greatly for and advertise the beauty and elegance of the Female/Male anatomy and the interactions we have on a sexual level, will we ever really address the issue of our bodies and how to describe it?  Imus is but a glaring example of society on the whole, he just didn't have the class to keep his ignorant, no Stupid comments to himself!  On the other hand, there are Professionals out there:  Models, Actresses/Actors, Escorts, and Dancers that make a decent living; raise kids, pay thier rent and sometimes make themselves pretty famous merely by being beautiful, talented, strong, humble and hardworking.   I don't expect a response, I DO expect reflection, introspection and discussion so that we ALL be careful how we think, for that directly reflects to how we act and what we say; the "N-Word", "B-Word", and now the "H-word" and ALL offensive language and action should be tempered with wisdom, dig that!  To all those Pro's (Not Ho's) out there: If God gave you the gift of beauty then, by all means, Be Proud of it! And if you are willing to share your beauty with the world than we, as a society, are truly Blessed!!

...I thank you...

P.S.  Get That Dough!!

Peace

Hey Friends & Visitors:

With the vote right here upon us and all the local decisions being made, with nearly (if not already) 3000 of our family and friends dead because of a lie, I must ask u all honestly: Is Bush a friend or a Foe?

Now, don't get it twisted, I'm a card-carryin' member of the Bush-Hatery Club but, if Bush were this savvy, lawyer-type politician would we know everything that this cowboy has let loose?  Would Republicrats on both sides of every issue be working so hard to sway our opinions, to the detriment and defamation of their opponent?  Would we even know how government REALLY feels about our community, the "Christian Right",  the Gay community, people with previously incurable diseases and ways of treating them, the family feud between the Bushes vs. the Husiens (don't think I spelled that right but, bear with me, kay?), and the Lack of WMD's and the surplus of the need for the rich to control that region to keep all of us under the yoke of the price of gas (no gas, no goods and services or the price of goods goes up)?  Would we now know how far up the chain of corruption goes? Would we be able to see why Colin Powell bounced and how, in retrospect, that was the best way for him to avoid all this drama?  Would be able to see how inept and uncaring our government (even or especially on local levels) is about it's poorer citizens (Katrina, Families of 911 victims, First Responders suffering from inhalation of harmful particles)?

Bush has single-handedly jump-started a new generation of voters/activists.  He has made us have to believe in some kind of system, even if it's just to get his ass outta there! He has exposed our borders as weak, our city/first responders as overwhelmed, underprepared, underpaid, and understaffed. Our FEMA Systems as inept and in desparate need of overhaul. Our State and Local governments as just as inept and too worried about in-fighting and finger-pointing to get people to safety and get a disaster area safely evacuated, cleaned up and rebuilt without worrying about which contractor's getting the job. He has made super-stars of nearly unknowns like Jon Stewart, Carlos Mencia, Steven Colbert, etc. hell, even fake-news gets better ratings than real news because u know there ain't no political agenda, just the truth. Tell me what u guys think...I truly respect your opinion...

...until next time knuckleheads!

Peace
