So we didn't win a MAMA this year, oh well. It's an honor just to be nominated, really. Wait a minute, didn't I say that last year? Well, it's still true. Maybe if they have an r&b category next year we can sweep it clean. Whatever.

Come show your support this Saturday, May 17th @ The Brink. We're also playing at the WORT Block Party, Sunday afternoon May 18th, so take your pick. The block party is always a good time with lots of food, beer, and crafty stuff for sale. Check it out.

Okay, so MAMA voting is underway. Here's all you have to do:

go to www.broadjam.com/mama and register for only $5. Go through the voting and when you get to the Artist of the Year categories, if you please, vote for Vibe Syndicate in the Urban/R&B category. Remember, the money all goes toward putting instruments in the hands of local kids who can't afford them.

Voting ends April 30th so don't delay. The MAMA award show is May 12th at The Barrymore Theater. Tix are $20.

The nominations are in and Vibe Syndicate is up for a Madison Area Music Award (MAMA) this year. We've been nominated for R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of The Year! WOOHOO!!! Voting for this round isn't open yet, but I'll be sure to let everyone know how and when to vote for us. If you haven't already, you'll need to join the MAMAs for $5 through Broadjam.com in order to vote in all categories. The MAMAs is a non-profit organization that gets instruments to students who can't afford them - a very cool local organization. We are proud to be nominated and can't wait for the awards ceremony in May. Yayyyy!!

Okay, so fall (and winter) has come and gone and still no cd release. These things always take more time than you think! We're still working on it and hoping for a spring finish. In the meantime, we'll be submitting some tracks to The MAMAs (Madison Area Music Awards) in the Best R&B Band category, so be sure to check that out. As soon as the songs are uploaded I'll send out a notice letting you all know how to register and vote.

We'd like to thank everyone that came out to The King Club on Jan 5th. It was our first show in a loooooong time and you guys partied all night long with us! It was incredible to take the stage in front of such a fantastic crowd. And then you all danced and sang along with us for the whole show! Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was a great way to start the new year. Of course we also have to thank The Roots Collective and Reason For Leaving for their groovalicious sets and beautiful fans. It was a magnificent evening all around! Looks like we'll be back at The King Club in March - hope to see you all there again.

So we've been working on the cd all summer, recording tracks at DNA studios, and also in John Mesoloras' apartment! We've still got some more stuff to lay down and tweaking to do, but I thought I'd post a few rough mixes for all you eager beavers. Be on the lookout for a late fall release. Enjoy!
