Hi Everybody!
This is the 1st blog for the RG Band and I will try to keep this ongoing!
I've just released the debut album for the trio - "Journey Into The Blues" which is only available off the website and at gigs, it features my bass player Akos Hasznos and Eric Ford in Drums - also UK Harmonica champion Kevin Wells makes an appearance on several tracks along with Hammond player Matt Simpkins. My twin brother Joe Goose also took time to come from his home in Paris and perform on "Chevrolet" which was recorded live for a session for BBC Radio Suffolk.
Its a real departure from my previous work in that its a pretty much a traditional Blues vibe and all the tracks are covers - two things Ive never actually done as a producer or musician so it was really a fun thing to do and the material is very diverse in nature so it was challenging for all involved.
I've slowed down this summer with concerts due to some other projects Ive been involved with but we are just about to record 2 albums back to back which will be all original material and both very different from each other but both hopefully bringing a fresh take on the Blues genre.Once these albums are finished we will be back on the road with a vengence in the UK and Europe.
Let me say a bit more about my band: Akos was born in Budapest, Hungary and has not only has a music degree studying Jazz there but has also been a full time muscian for the last 15 years and has played all over the world including New Orleans.
Eric (who was born in England) has also been a full time muscian for many years and has played with John Mclaughlins band amongst many other Jazz, Fusion and World music projects and again has pretty much played all over the globe. These guys are also great friends of mine so we always have a great vibe going on stage!!!
I'd just like also to say how much we appreciate the fans coming back again to see us it means so much!
until the next time........
best wishes and may God be with you
Ramon
