I went to the premier for Sex and the City the movie on Monday!!!!!! I was so chuffed to be invited. (I wish I could say SJP herself invited me, but it was a friend of mine who had a couple of spare tickets). Obviously I asked Lee to be my date but I realised what a waste of a ticket that would be when he hesitated in answering me! (His football team Carlisle were playing live on TV that night.) So I decided to ask my friend Keavy who I knew would be MUCH more appreciative of the offer! I was right. 'Aaaagh!' was her high pitched answer. 'I'd love to go!' We are both avid 'Sex and the City' watchers so we were extremely excited. Of course the excitement subsided momentarily as the dilemma of what to wear took hold. But that problem was soon solved by a trip to the shops! The night of the premier was a night to remember. As soon as we arrived there the first person we saw was Sarah Jessica Parker! She was signing autographs on the red carpet. She looked lovely (I'm sure you've all seen pictures). She is so petite in real life. The movie itself is brilliant. It is hilariously funny and also has a couple of teary moments. Perfect chic flick! I'm not giving any of the story away because that would ruin it for anyone who is going to see it. We also went to the after show party which was incredible. The venue was beautifully decorated with candles and Swarovski crystals scattered everywhere, (I mean everywhere). All four Sex and the City girls were there, and the Sugababes performed. The food was amazing and the cocktails were free flowing. Needless to say Keavy and I had a very good girls' night out! Especially after a few Cosmopolitans! We danced till our feet hurt in our high heels, and then we took them off and danced some more! ☺
We had such a great time I wanted to share it with you!

Current mood: creative
Hi all! It has been about two months now since Lee and I have become 'parents' to a puppy and a kitten. Some of you helped us with the naming process (thanks for that!). We called the puppy 'Poppy' and the kitten 'Coco'. (Sounds like a cereal when you say them together!) Needless to say it has changed our life just a little bit. No more lie-ins (ever!) as we have to let Poppy out for a wee first thing in the morning and give them their breakfast. We have had to rearrange our schedule so that they don't get left at home alone for more than a couple of hours at a time. There's also the problem of 'what do we do when we want to go away?'. We have yet to cross that bridge. However…despite all that, it's the best thing we've ever done (apart from get married of course)! There's nothing like the joy you feel when these furry creatures greet you at the door full of unconditional love for you, as excited as if they hadn't seen you for a week when you've only been to the shop and back! As I write this Coco is sprawled out on my lap with her engines going like mad (purring, that is). As I look at her I can't help but feel a surge of 'motherly' love for this little thing that trusts me with her life. She's lovely. Earlier, she was watching the footie with Lee (finally he has someone to watch it with!) and she was sitting literally in front of the telly and pouncing on the players as they ran across the screen! We were in stitches! Poppy is just a bundle of energy at the moment. She's gorgeous. She has her 'mad ten minutes' every day when she runs around the garden as if being chased by an invisible monster! It's hilarious. She's afraid of the hoover at the moment, which Lee finds very amusing. Come to think of it, he never even touched the hoover until Poppy came along! We take her to puppy training classes, which she LOVES as there are 9 other puppies there to play with! At the end of each class we have a competition. Poppy has come in second place twice (once for the SIT command and once for the DOWN command). I felt like the proud mother when they said '…in second place… Poppy!' My first thought was 'that's my girl!', my second thought 'she was better than the one who came first!'. Typical mother! The one thing which has really melted our hearts, is the relationship between Poppy and Coco. At the beginning we thought, 'Have we done the right thing, getting them at the same time?' I mean it was chaos! Poppy thought Coco was a chew toy for the first three weeks. She would chew her tail, paws ears, and she even chewed a chunk out of Coco's fur! We had to watch them, constantly! But since we put a stop to that problem (water pistol!) they have been the best of friends. On three or four occasions we have walked into the kitchen only to find them both in Poppy's bed having their afternoon nap together! So cute! Each time I have just melted, and reached frantically and oh so quietly for the camera. I think about my old cat Cheeky who died many years ago. I had her when I lived in Greece. She would walk me to where the school bus picked me up in the mornings, and she knew what time I would be returning and would be there to greet me. In her old age she made friends with our neighbours old dog. (I think she was half blind by then, maybe she thought he was a big cat?). Anyway, they would sleep together too, it was so sweet. It's amazing the joy pets can bring into your life, they're like little gifts from God. I'll stop gushing about them now. Anyone got any cute pet stories?

Hi all! Just thought I'd let you know how the gigs are going so far. The Bedford was amazing, we had a brilliant gig. Lots of people came down especially to see us so thank you so much if you were one of those! Your support means so much. We did forty minutes and I thouroughly enjoyed it. The Ginglik was also great. It's such a cool little venue, very intimate. The funny thing is it used to be public loos (toilets)! You have to see it to believe it. Tonight we played at City showcase which was also great. Soundcheck was running so late that by the time we finished soundchecking we had to start our set straight away so I didn't have time to change into my new dress which I bought especially! :( I was gutted! But the show must go on, and I really enjoyed it. We're really looking forward to The Half Moon and the Acoustic Lounge next week. Hope to see you at a gig sometime soon! Lindsay.x

Hello everyone! I have some news, I will be the guest singer with a band called Callaghan tomorrow (Saturday) online on 'Second Life' at 5pm GMT! I'm really excited about this as they are an amazing band and we'll be doing some really beautiful songs. If you want to check it out it's www.secondlife.com and it's the opening of virtual San Diego. Those of you who are familiar with Second Life will know what I'm talking about, those of you who aren't, it's a website which is a virtual world and you have your own avatar. You'll have to read more about it on the website as I'm still only getting my head around it myself! See ya! Lindsay.x
