Oh yeah. One more thing I forgot to tell ya. For those of you who don't know, Mike and his wife just had a baby girl. Yeah! That's great news. The bad news is he needs to come off the road and be a daddy. However, the Lord has brought us a replacement. He is funny, smart, has a great personality and loves Jesus. Oh yeah, and he will blow you away. So, ladies and gentlemen, please make welcome. TOBY HITCHCOCK!!!!!

Ok. I know that we have been off everyones radar for a while. We have a really good excuse. I can't share it all right now but what I can tell you is we are about to come out with one killer album. We have been so blessed over the last few weeks to have nailed down an incredible producer. I won't tell you who it is yet because I want to make sure that I am allowed but keep checkin up on us and hopefully I'll let you know in a few days. Maybe I should drop some clues. That would be fun. And then if yall guess who it is I won't be accused of telling:*) Well I guess I will leave it at that. Gotta lotta work to do. So I'll catch yall tomorrow.
See ya
Jay

So last week we were at great camp called Cross Mountain Ministries in a little town called Portesrville, Mississippi. Now when I say small, I mean really small. Like the nearest Walmart is 45 minutes away small. Some of y'all might be able to relate to that, but for me (being a bit of a city boy) that was way out in the sticks. However, I have to say, they have some of the kindest people in those small towns. This was one of those places where everyone gets up with the sun, puts on there Wrangler jeans (even though it was 95 degrees outside), and straps on their spurs to start the day. Yep, we were hangin' with real live cowboys....and girls. They were bronc bustin', horse ridin', calf ropin' folks who loved life. They were some of the most honest and sincere people I've ever met. I didn't know people like that were still out there. Anyway, back to the story. So one night after our evening bible study, we were all hanging out and Boom comes running into our room asking if we had any matches or a lighter. Of course we asked the obvious question, "Why do you need a lighter?" And to our surprise Boom responded, "Because I'm gonna burn a snake." I'm gonna let you think about that for just a second. Now for those of you who haven't met Boom yet, he's our drummer. He is a skinny little man who looks just like Jason Stathom. If you want you can look Mr. Stathom up on line and imagine him without all the muscles and a few inches shorter....that's Boom. He is the comic relief for Austins Bridge. He's one of those guys who sleeps a lot but when he's up he's on full speed in life. Always trying to get a laugh. Moving on. So I finally look at him with a puzzled look and ask again, "You're gonna do what?" Again, same response. I'll be honest, my curiosity got the better of me so I get up and help him find a lighter. We go outside and sure enough he had a rattle snake that had been killed and decided he wanted to light it on fire. You're probably thinking that is a little bit too violent. If you fall into this category let me chase a rabbit for just a second... The night before I went on a walk right as the sun had set. On my walk I was kamakazied by over sized, mutant horse flies, attacked by a dive bombing screech owl and was nearly gnawed on by a rattle snake hanging out on the side of the road. Fortunately, a lady from the camp was driving down the road and saw it before I was able to walk up on it. I was only feet away from crossing it's path. So back to my story. Being the guy that I am (just a bit of a pyro) I started a fire in the parking lot and we all sat around this little fire and bar-b-q'ed ourselves a rattler. We tried to get boom to pull a Man vs Wild moment and eat that sucker but he wasn't hungry. Anyway, we ended up having a great time at camp. We saw several students get saved and then the last day we were there we got to seem them baptized in a cattle trough. Ha ha ha. That's right. They brought in a cattle trough loaded it full of water and we dunked those new believers right there. We couldn't have asked for a better end to a long week. It was a very cool experience.

Hey friends--
We just received news last night that we won a Dove Award for Bluegrass song of the Year for our single, "He's in Control."
We are so excited and so thankful to the Lord for allowing our music to be heard and that others are able to hear the gospel and a message of hope through our songs.
We can't tell you how humbled we are to win such an award and most of all we can't tell you how humbled we are in the way that God uses us. Last night right after we learned about the Dove Award, we helped lead worship at a crusade with Jamey Ragle where over 1800 people attended, 60 people gave their lives to Christ, and 15 people rededicated their lives to the Lord. Not that it's about numbers, but we're humbled that God even allows us to be in the room when things like this happen.
We are so thankful to all of you out there who are more than just our fans, but are fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, that have supported and loved us and have really accepted our music. We are so blessed! We couldn't do this without you.... Praise to the Lord for this! Mike, Jason, Justin

Ok, so it’s been a while since I’ve shared a road story with you. This is a good thing because it means we haven’t had anything horrible happen to us for a while but I know it also means yall haven’t had any entertaining stories from us for a while. So for that I’m sorry. Last night we had a show in Chickasaw, AL. It was so much fun. We had the band out with us because we were on our way back from a big show in Orlando and those guys tore it up. Anyway, after the show, we were all tired from being on the go for five days straight and we were all looking forward to getting some much needed sleep. Unfortunately, before we could relax, we needed to get some much needed "push water". (That’s gasoline for those of you who don’t understand the south). So, like any responsible band, we stopped to get some fuel. After filling up and taking a bathroom break we were back on the road. After several minutes and when we were only 5 miles from our cozy beds and soft pillows, the most beautiful blue and red lights you ever saw came creeping up behind us. Thoughts of safety and security were quite comforting as they came closer and closer. Soon enough they were right behind you and there they stayed. You got it. We were getting pulled over by Alabama’ finest. Now, for those of you who haven’t been keeping up with our blogs you need to know that we have been pulled over in the last year for the following: Speeding (Mike), Speeding (Mike), Speeding (Justin), illegal U-turn and crossing the median for authorized vehicles only (Justin), Reported drunk driving (Jason). Please note that I wasn’t drunk nor had I been drinking. I was tired. It was 3:00 am and we were already late for our next show. And, the officer made the entire band wake up and show ID’s to get us moving around. You’d be surprised how nice those guys can be when you tell them you’re in a Christian band! Yall ought to try that some time. By the way, we have only had one citation. All the other "violations" were just warnings. And by warnings I mean the favor of God. So, to continue the story, Justin was driving, so he pulled over and hopped out of the RV and asks "What’s up boss?" And with the thickest southern draw I’ve heard in a long time the officer politely asked if we had just recently filled up the RV with gas. Immediately Mike jumps up from his seat and screams "Oh man. I forgot to pay for the gas. I am so sorry. I’m a Christian, I mean, I’m a Christian…Were a band, we’re a Christian band. I am so sorry." (I’m surprised we weren’t all shot right there. I mean we all know the last thing you want to do when getting pulled over is start screaming and jump out of your vehicle.) Fortunately, the officer understood and smiled telling us we needed to go back to the shell station and pay for our gas. Mike again apologized and the officer proceeded to tell him he should’ve spent more time at the altar that morning. Needless to say we turned around and had a police escort back to the gas station where Mike was promptly put in handcuffs and ushered inside to let the teller know that we had been caught. The rest of us, of course, were laughing our heads off with cell phones and cameras in hand taking pictures and video footage of the whole thing. I will say that when we finally did get to those beds we all slept very well.
