LADY RIZO SOLO IN SEATTLE 2 DATES ONLY THURS 9/3 & SUNDAY 9/6 8PM
tickets avail at http://eu.brownpapertickets.com/event/79007
The
incomparable "cabaret star" (NY Magazine) Lady Rizo is coming to
Seattle for the first unchaperoned evening of song and decadence. She
has thrilled audiences in New York City at several venues like Joe's
Pub, The Box, The Highline Ballrom, with her "glam bottom baring dance
troupe the Assettes " (Village Voice), celebrating the billboard top
ten in the monthly series Our Hit Parade, or midtown at the gothic
Night Hotel co-hosting the weekly transnational lounge Foreign Affairs
or in a swanky rooftop party...
But here is your chance to
have her all to yourself. Her seamless mix of baudy humor and elegance
has been likened to Mae West but its her vocal chops that have garnered
recent attention: collaborating with both Yo-Yo Ma (This little light
of mine) & Moby (Pale Horses) on albums this year, singing
selections of the American Songbook in front of the internationally
acclaimed 36 -piece orchestra The Knights, and at MOMA for a sold out
cabaret for the Kirchner Exhibit.
Let her lashes beguile you
as she interprets an irresistible mix of popular songs from all eras
backed by some of the finest local musicians.
Grab the
costume jewels you inherited from aunt Mary, bust out your purple
velvet jacket, tie on those shoes you don't know where else to wear
them, swill the martini and drink in the sounds and sights of Lady Rizo.NOTE: No one under 15 years old will be admitted.

So thrilled to have this soul satisflying girl group backed by the Divine Soul Rhythm Band! It will be hard to stay in those comfy bucket seats with their pulse pounding beats. The Zipper has such a great atmosphere and great drink prices. You know that Lady Rizo and the Assettes will reach out a gloved hand and carry off to a dreamy world of song and dance.

Thrilled to gyrate on the boards of the distinguished Joe's Pub. This show will be a doozy. Almost entirely new material! yes. new. Loosely orbiting around the theme of dolls. Girls/dames/dolls/skirts/frails. Frails? yes that was a pulp fiction term for women. Though as this show will show ya these days its anything but frail. Try robust, unbreakable, solid, flushed and ready for your attention. COME and join us MARCH 1st or 2nd. you will not regret it.
Joe's Pub 425 Lafayette NYC MAR 1st 11:30 MAR 2nd 9:30

Amber Martin and i are doing a crazy lil performance piece incorporating songs, conjoined twins and their search for a husband. Moby and I are singing a couple of weimar infused 70s and 80s rock songs. Here is the official info..
After a sold-out season of shows this Summer at the Spiegeltent, Weimar New York is on hiatus for the rest of the year, but the spirit of the show lives on at TINGEL TANGEL CLUB, a rollicking night of dancing and debauchery that recalls the dance halls of Weimar-era Berlin mixed with the raw energy of a New York warehouse party. Dance to the music of DJ Mondolucien and enjoy performances by Narcissister, Lady Rizo, Amber Martin, Daniel Isengart and Moby. The evening is hosted by the mischievous Pixie Harlots.
TINGEL TANGEL CLUB Friday, November 16 10:00 PM - 4:00 AM Glasslands, 245 Kent Ave, Brooklyn $12 / $8 dressed in theme 718-599-1450
