It's going to the printer at the end of January. We're talking artwork, alternate song versions and 16 bits of raw, hi-fi power in screaming stereo. Our official release date is June 3rd, 2008.

Hi Kids! This is it!

Our final 3 tracks came out late and in a different order:

Track 12 - Everybody Looks, Not Everybody Finds - This tune was written in 2000, shortly after our first album. It's one of 4 tunes that were remade and remodeled for Twilight (the others were Staying There For A While, Smash and You Can Never Go Back). We have a Mo-Dettes homage in the middle break.

Track 13 - You Can Never Go Back - This song was written and recorded in 1998, at our first Mitch Easter session. We've added a vocal or two. It predates our first album by over a year and features Chris Carlino on guitar. Unmixed until 2007. It'll give you a glimpse into the Baskervilles sound before Stephanie joined the band, when we were four wild men in Agnes B shirts, playing thumping rock n roll in a cellar on the lower east side.

Track 14 - Caught In A Crosswalk - Our final single, and WHAT a single. This is one of my favorite tracks on the album, with a fantastic vocal by Stephanie. Look for a video in the new year.

Thanks for joining us with the Twilight singles project. The Twilight CD and videos coming in the new year.

(cont from Twilight 14 singles 1-4 - check that blog out to read about the project concept)

Twilight 14 singles 5-11 have nearly caused me a breakdown, because they were so much work. We've added a full orchestra to many of these songs, thanks to the brilliant Steve Rochen. Usually, songwriters are a little disappointed when mixing is complete because songs never totally turn out like you imagine them. That is not the case with this group of songs. Not only do we feel that it is our best work ever, but it is some of the most spellbinding mixing Mitch Easter has ever done.

Several people have asked whether the MP3s will end up on CD. The answer is a definite YES. The album will be called Twilight. We will release the CD when the MP3 project has finished, which will probably be in January 2008.

Single 5 (January 2007) is "Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)." This is a cover of the classic 1975 Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel song. We've been playing this song live for the past 2 years. There is a Baskervilles streaming live version available on KEXP's website. To change our version up from the original, we added a 24 piece orchestra.

Single 6 (February 2007) is "It's A Red Fade That Leaves In A Warm Way." This was inspired by Jorge Ben's classic single "Minha Teimosia, Uma Arma Pra Te Conquistar" from 1974. Our song sounds more like the Kinks. "It's A Red Fade That Leaves In A Warm Way" is a favorite of Baskerville drummer Craig.

Single 7 (March 2007) is "A Little More Time." This jaunty rocker is based on the relationship of a Baskerville. It features Christoph's mysterious Korean bass effect pedal.

Single 8 (April 2007) is "Smash" This is my favorite of the new batch. Long time Baskerville fans will recognize this as "This Was The Weekend" from our first album. I didn't really care for my singing and the instrumentation on that version. This re-production features heavy orchestration, tympani, horns, bells and a new vocal track. Stephanie and I sing it together. Mitch's mix is epic. Please play repeatedly.

Single 9 (May 2007) is "Staying There For A While." This is the oldest Baskervilles song, written by our lead guitar player, Chris Carlino, in 1998 before Stephanie joined the band. The original title was "Put A Rainbow In Your Hair", which I am embarrassed to be responsible for. We recorded a version with Chris that was incredibly, stupidly fast. He left the band shortly after and we never finished any of the first 8 songs we recorded with Mitch. This is a re-modeled new version, with all 5 Baskervilles playing. Craig and I drafted new lyrics. In many ways, this song was the bridge between the garage rock Baskervilles of the late 90s and the pop band of the 00s. We are thrilled that we were able to revive this song and have it turn out so well.

Single 10 (June 2007) is "The Apartment." This groovy monster has been in our repertoire for a while. It features some swell orchestration and hand clapping.

Single 11 (July 2007) is "Have You Seen Them." This is one of our older songs, written in 2002. I was considering starting a Merseybeat style harmony vocal 60s band back then, but Christoph and I did Autoparty instead. "Have You Seen Them" has been Baskerville-ized into firey new wave speed.

Craig and I are off to the basement with pens to finish the songs for Twilight 14. Enjoy the new tunes. - Rob Keith

Our first 4 Twilight 14 songs were originally intended to be a Swedish EP. That deal fell through. Instead of seeking another label, we decided to release the songs as free mp3s. It's a contemporary singles club, with a nod to the Sub Pop and Wedding Present single campaigns from the 90s. The big difference is our music is absolutely free. All you have to do is drop by our MySpace page or baskervilles.net to get a new song each month.

Single 1 (September 2006) is "Where Did My Summer Go?" This is the Baskervilles at our most bubblegum and fluffy. The song features an opera singer, trumpet and real strings. I'm a sucker for 70s glam rock and orch pop from the 60s. "Where Did My Summer Go?" is big, rough, and sickly sweet.

Single 2 (October 2006) is "Slip A Little And BOOM!" This song is quite different in tone to "Where Did Our Summer Go?" I call this new wave psychedelia. It's asymmetrical and moody with bright rays of optimism . It also features a strange Eno-esque solo played on the Chamberlin by Stephanie Finucane.

Single 3 (November 2006) is "Sweet and Sour." This is Baskerville bassist Christoph's and Bryan Ferry's fantasy love child.

Single 4 (December 2006) is "Moves." Stephanie wrote and sings this song. I love it. It is the perfect December single. It's icy and rubbery.

Our 2007 songs will warm up the ears considerably, with touches of classic Baskervilles piano pop, Tropicalia and Blondie-esque new wave. - Rob Keith
