As always I had a blast dancing at the Columbus Bluejackets game last night! The crowd always rocks the house. I am so grateful that the Bluejacket's and the fans allow me to do that! Well it's been awhile since I blogged and figured tonight was a great time to sit down and do a lil blogging. Why not right? I did some stand up comedy tonight at McCabes, a great Irish pub in downtown Colorado Springs. It was alot of fun. Especially since I didn't have to MC it. Don't get me wrong I love MCing and all but it's just so fun to go up there and do your set and get off sometimes. Quick and painless, well for me at least maybe not for the audience lol. Emceeing(can't spell it) is very tough you're the first one up and you are trying to set a tone but in all reality you're the sacrificial lamb going to the slaughter. And than you have to make sure the show goes smoothly, kicking off some comics that are going long and filling in between comics, Always having to be on. Your main goal as MC as making the other comics look good and sometimes that can be a challenge. But I digress. Tonight that job fell to someone else. And to be honest he did a great job.  I went up after the MC's opening and it was alot of fun. I must say of course their is a lot of room for improvement on my part(but than again their always is right) I went a lil to fast for my liking and I need to work at my timing (again thats a constent battle) but the crowd seemed to like my jokes. I got laughs and I had alot of energy and I think the crowd felt that. They laughed at my Diabetes joke, my side burns joke, my dog in the shower joke and my bagged a fourteener joke. Heck I even got some chuckles from my serial killer joke. I need to be more clear more direct with my jokes(again being my own worst critic) but it was alot of fun. I got off the stage sweating (because I'm fat) but high as a kite. I think I left them wanting more and thats the way you want to leave them. Than I sat back and enjoyed watching the other comics go up there doing their thing. It was fun and I must say they turned that mother out! I laughed hard core. We comics slayed those people and many of them said they were coming back and thats what you want. After the show the bar owner told me I did a great job and got my info for future shows and the MC gave me the number for Comedyworks up in Denver because he says I should really do their new talent night. I thanked them so much for putting this open mic on, because supporting local comedy is great. And I must say mcing Stand Up and Shut Up at Thunder and Buttons once a month you see so many talented comics in Colorado Springs that just need a venue to get stage time and work on their craft and for people to see these talented ladies and gentlemen. And since doing Stand Up or Shut Up whats great is that now there are other bars in town really opening their stages to comedy and its freakin awesome. I'm looking forward the day that theirs an open mic almost every night in this town because the talent is their and people support it in this town. Plus I love just getting up on stage and doing my thing you know what I'm saying? So support comedy my friends because everybody needs to laugh right? Ok I'm off my soap box and thanks for listening. Well everybody if you don't have plans and live in or around Colorado Springs you should head down to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for a Comedy Improv show by the area's best and longest running group in Colorado Springs Stick Horses in Pants Comedy Improv group. Oh yea and did I mention I'm part of the group lol. It's this Saturday night Sept 19th at 8 pm at the Broadmoor teheater. Ticket's are $8 and $5 for studants/military/and seniors.
