It's been some time since we've been updated our blog.
To long really.
There are new things planned for this year.
Two of those things are new musical projects that we have been working on when time has been on our side.
We promise to be back soon with news about these...

1/3/2009
Today we are featured electronic artists over on the Noisehead website. We're also doing very well in their head-to-head music competition, so many thanks to everyone that's been voting for us.

A small amount of Twittering has been going on, nothing much, but we're sure things will become more interesting soon - if you want to follow us, just look for apyxieworm.

As it's the first official day of spring in the UK, we've gone into spring cleaning mode and been tidying up our musical files to get them into some kind of order ready for our next release. We've also discovered that we have, amongst other things, 4 spare computer keyboards - they seem to have been breeding over the winter months (ebay will be receiving new listings very soon!).

3/3/2009
We learned today that Cloudcatchers has moved into the last level of voting to be added to the permanent playlist over on songvault.fm. If you've taken time to vote for us, then a big thank you and we hope you'll vote again in this round too.

14/3/2009
In celebration of having over 8000 wonderful friends on myspace we're going to give away 8 download sets of our 4 albums. All you have to do to get 1 of these sets is tell us why you should have one and send us a valid email address to send you your download link if you're selected - easy.

17/3/2009
We have just received a message from Noisehead that we are to be the featured Electronic artist on their website tomorrow (18/3).

28/3/2009
FREE World Wide Worm LIVE Broadcasts planned for the near future. More info soon...

5/4/2009
Today we are once again featured electronic artists over at the Noisehead website.
We also found that we made No.71 in the UK Electronic/Dance charts over on the Reverb Nation website.
More FREE giveaways to celebrate having more than 60,000 plays on myspace - see bulletins soon...

12/4/2009
Tonights broadcast is now fully booked. We'll have more coming up in the future, so please keep an ear open for the next one if you'd like to listen in.
We've also climbed a little higher in the Reverb Nation UK Electronic/Dance charts to No.68 this week.
Sunday, July 13, 2008
We have 2 new CDs due for release soon.

The first is our new album 'Happenstance'.
Containing all new material - more news in this blog soon.

The second is of our very first World Wide Worm LIVE broadcast.
If you've listened in to any of these broadcasts, you'll already have heard a little of our new material mixed in with live versions of tracks from all three of our previous main releases.
This release will be hand produced, signed and of very limited numbers, and will only be available from our website store. - more news in this blog soon.

Well, they are both now here!

The first of the World Wide Worm LIVE series has been up on our website for a few weeks now and it's almost sold out. If you want one get over there soon!

Today (13/7/08) we finally have the launch of 'Happenstance' - check out the 2008 blog, our website and other places we're at for details and to listen over the coming days!

UPDATE: 6/1/2008
Our first update of the new year - For our first update of the new year we're please to say that 'On Stand-by' has been chosen as one of the tracks of the day on Garageband - garageband.com
This week has also seen up added in a small review on the Inannanaked website - inannanaked.com
We were also asked to enter out video for 'G-Whizz' into the Fame Cast competition (we're not expecting to win, but it's worth a trip over there to have a look at what other people around the world are doing), if you'd like to give us your support and give us a vote this is the link - famecast.com.
For those of you that missed out on the live broadcasts over Christmas we'll be changing the player very soon and putting a couple of the new tracks up that we played then. The tracks go back to a more relaxed sound that will give the lead for our next release (more news soon!)

UPDATE: 26/1/2008
Harbourside on the radio - Harbourside is to be added to Pongid Radios 24 hour playlist.
Pongid Radio is a new independent online radio station streaming music to listeners worldwide and also into the 3-D virtual world of Second Life.
Who knows, you may see us playing another virtual gig inside a virtual world soon!
More news as we get it, but in the meantime you can visit Pongid Radio to hear what they are about.

UPDATE: 27/1/2008
FameCast Top 50 - The video for G Whizz has made it through to the top 50 on FameCasts Electronic stage. If you voted for us in the first round, then thank you, and we hope you'll give us your support to get into the top 25.
You can vote one each day at: famecast.com.

UPDATE: 26/2/2008
Time for an update - In more ways than one.
Firstly, we'd like to thank anyone that voted in the famecast.com video contest. We didn't quite have enough votes to get through to the top 25, we finished at 26!
Secondly, we're going to have a bit of a move around on the blog over the next few weeks - we'll be loosing some bits, adding new bits and splitting other bits. If you've left a comment in any part of our blog hopefully we won't loose it and if you've left a review on any of our music it should also be appearing on our website if it hasn't already.
Thirdly - NEW MUSIC - we have a lot of things that are coming together and we have a new album release planned - hopefully a release confirmation very soon.
Lastly - the World Wide Worm LIVE broadcasts are happening each month and our first one will be immortalized on CD very soon.
More lastly - We have some more magazine reviews to tell you about too....

UPDATE: 18/3/2008
Featured Artists - Tomorrow we are to be the featured artists on Noisehead.com! This will be for the second time in as many weeks.
We've been a little busy on other projects since our last update, so as you'll have seen the changes on the blog haven't started yet, but the NEW MUSIC has seen some work and is slowly coming together.
More news coming soon...

UPDATE: 5/4/2008
Musical Update - Lots of hard work going on in The Wormery at the moment. The new album 'Happenstance' is coming along nicely and we should be able to give you a release date and more info very, very soon.
We're Noiseheads featured artists again today (for the 4th time!) and VerVox has been on top of their electronica chart for the last 3 days!
We've also been voted the artists of the month during March on Pongid radio by their listeners and are now this months featured artists.
Our website: apyxieworm.co.uk has had a little make-over (mainly due to a system update - probably best not to ask what happened, lets just say we're not to happy with apple! - but it's fixed now).
Tonights World Wide Worm LIVE broadcast has now been and gone. We seem to have reached capacity on our live stream so we'll play a recording of tonights live broadcast tomorrow for those that unfortunately missed out.
T-shirts are still being a pain and we can only apologise if you're still waiting for the postman to call.
Formica and Cork Tiles - If you already have a CD copy of our first release it's now become a collectors item as we now have pressed and printed versions on sale rather than the lovingly handmade copies you have - just imagine how much you could make on ebay for a signed copy!
More news soon.

UPDATE: 12/4/2008
More places to buy Formica - As of today, you can buy our first CD 'Formica and Cork Tiles' from CD Baby! This also means that if you live in the US that you can go into a music store and order over the counter! There are plans to get our other releases available from CD Baby in the future, but for the moment they are available through our online store.
You can find us on CD Baby by clicking this link: cdbaby.com

UPDATE: 18/5/2008
One ready! - We've finally got the first of our World Wide Worm LIVE Series CDs online in our store. There will only be 50 available of each one released - the first is our very first live broadcast. For more information visit our website: www.apyxieworm.co.uk.
For the more astute of you, you may have noticed that the cover for our next album 'Happenstance' has appeared on our myspace profile. It's also on our website in the discography section - more info will be filled in over the next week as we're very, very nearly done! - it's taken a little longer than we expected towards the end as we've had other commitments to see too. As soon as it's finished it'll be in our download store and the CD will be available immediately from our CD store.
Over the last week we've been featured artist again on Noisehead and we've sprung up on a few more websites - info in our website diary.
Sorry to those subcribers of The Wormcast - you probably keep getting messages saying that there's something new on there. As we've been updating our website it keeps replacing itself. We hope to get around this soon and you'll be seeing a preview mix of the new album up there soon too.

UPDATE: 13/7/2008
FINALLY! - Yes, Yes, Yes! We know that we prmised this a few months back, but finally it's here! We're updating everything as we type.

Current mood:  excited
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
Update: 1/1/07
12000 Previews! - The first update of 2007 and we've reached over 12000 previews.

Update: 3/1/07
13000 Plays for Harbourside! - 13000 plays for Harbourside! We keep saying thank you for listening because we're still excited. We promise to bring you some bigger news in our blog diary soon...

Update: 6/1/07
Free Download Ended - Sorry if you missed it, but the free download of 'Sugar Plum Pyxie' has ended. We're replacing the track with a new one (it will be tomorrow now as we're having a few problems uploading). It will be a brand new track, so we'll tell you more as soon as it's online.

Update: 7/1/07
Dance Videos Needed - We have a few friends that are dancers and that has set us thinking. Most of you have said that you like to dance or could create a dance piece for our music. So now we'd like to make a video for one or two of our tracks using some of this dance. We've already spoken to a few of you, who like the idea and would like to be included, so now we're asking if there is anyone else out there that would like to be a part of these videos? We can't offer you any money, only a credit on the video. The videos will be on our myspace page, our website when it's complete and probably on or youtube page. We've also thought about adding them as extras on future CDs - so you'll have a credit on the sleeve artwork if we do. We need digital files of your dance to one of our tracks which can be sent to us over the internet - if you are interested and want to send us a file we can talk about the best way to get them to us later. So, over to anyone that thinks they might want to be included, or someone that you think might want to be involved - get in contact with us.

Track Update: 7/1/2007
Dark Shores - A BRAND NEW TRACK entitled 'Dark Shores'. This is a track that will be on our new CD. At nearly ten and a half minutes we've had to sample it down quite a bit in order to get it uploaded, (myspace will only allow mp3's under 6mb) so the quality isn't perfect. We're working ..ing the other tracks at the moment, so the next CD should be available any time soon. Have a listen and please let us know what you think.

Update: 8/1/07
Over 23000 Plays - This year seems to be starting off very well for us. Today we have reached over 23000 plays.

Update: 19/1/07
Kites and Bicycles has over 4000 Plays - This has seemed to be a popular track with a lot of people. We've had a lot of messages saying how much people like this and that they have added it to their page, so thank you everyone that has added it, but please come back and listen to some new tracks as we add them.

Update: 25/1/07
13000 Profile Views - Thanks to the many of you that keep coming back and those that are telling their friends about us. We're still working on the new CD and hope to have something else new for you to listen too soon, with the CD following closely behind.

Update: 26/1/07
24000 Plays! - Wow! That's nearly 2500 plays a month since we've been on myspace!

Track Update: 4/2/2007
I Cut Off My Doll's Hair And Now She's Bald - This is a track from 'Formica and Cork Tiles' that has been up on myspace before, so we know that some of you will already have heard it. We've had a few requests for it back, so while we're still sorting out the next CD we've put it back for you and it gives our new friends a chance to hear it for the first time.

Update: 4/2/2007
1000 Comments! - We just broke 1000 comments! Thanks to everyone that left one (or more)!

Update: 10/2/2007
Over 25000 Plays and Rhapsody Chart! - We've broken 25000 total plays today, which has made us very happy. We also saw that we were momentarily in the Rhapsody 'Top 100 Electronic Albums' Chart, so if you listened or purchased our album from here then thank you and please go and listen some more as we'd like to be in it again at a much lower (nearer to No.1) number.
We've also been wondering who of you reads our blog updates and other news that we put in here. We have a few people that subscribe to our blog and thought it might be nice to know who else is interested in seeing what we do. We're going to do a few more CD give aways when our new CD is ready and thought we might do it through our blog giving the people that really want one a better chance of winning. So, subscribe, it costs you nothing and you might get a free CD!

Update: 11/2/2007
Over 14000 Profile Views! - The numbers keep going up and we still have smiles on our faces. It's been a very busy weekend for us - we almost have that CD done! We will have a definite date for you very soon!

Update: 17/2/2007
Paintings - We've uploaded a few paintings to the pics section. They may not be to everyones taste, but feel free to have a look and leave some comments. If you like them and would like an original piece of APW art of your own, get in contact and we'll let you know how much it might cost you for your own unique piece.

Update: 19/2/2007
I Cut Off My Dolls Hair... - And Now She's Bald has hit 1000 plays since we put it back on again and seems to be popular with one or two of you, so thank you for your feelings on this track. It's been really interesting to hear how so many of you did just that as a child and what it means to you.

Update: 20/2/2007
26000 Plays! - When we started 'A Pyxie Worm' we never thought there would be that many people out there that might want to listen to the music we were making, so 26000 plays was something a long long way away. We promise that that new CD is only just around the corner now. If you haven't subscribed to our blog and might want the chance to get the new CD for FREE then subscribe before we officially announce 'It's ready!'.

Update: 25/2/2007
Glastonbury - Unfortunately it looks as if we may not be playing Glastonbury. It seems that things are going on on the stage we were originally approached to play on that mean we may not be on. We have fingers crossed that it still may happen, but if not, we'll just have to find somewhere else to play. We'll let you know more as things develop for the good or the bad. :(

Update: 6/3/2007
15000 Profile Views and Other Stuff - We have today reached 15000 profile views (woot!), so thank you all for visiting us.
If you missed our bulletins or don't read all of the blogs, you won't know that you can now get us on download from even more places, Virgin and HMV being just two of them.
Thanks to those of you that sent us your dance videos, we are going to start work on them soon and will let you know when we're nearly done. If you still want to send something to us, you can and we'll see if we can use it this time around, if not, we'll save it for the next stuff we do.
T-shirts are happening, so more news soon.
We are also a bit closer to the fabled new album being finished and will definitely have a release date for you very, very soon. We will be doing a few give aways, but you'll only be eligible to win in a mini competition we're going to run if you are a subscriber to our blog. So subscribe if you want to win!
We'd like to do something with words next - not lyrics - words! Poetry would be good, something that says something but not in an obvious way or something that says different things to different people. We don't do politics, wars, religion or girl meets boy meets girl meets boy and everyone is happy in the end as it's not what we're about. If you listen to our music and it says something to you and you would like to work with us then please get in touch.
ooh! and the new album has a bit more to it - more soon!

Update: 18/3/2007
3000+ Friends and Track of the Day! - Thanks to our 3000+ friends for being friends and listening to our music.
We've just had news from GarageBand.com that we have been picked for 'Track of the Day' for 'I Cut Off My Doll's Hair And Now She's Bald' on Sunday 25th March and so you'll find us on the front page of their website. We're really pleased that we've been chosen as the tracks are chosen because of the reviews that they get on the site from other people. We were also awarded 'Potential Soundtrack' from reviewers on the 12th March and are still climbing up their Electronica chart. If you haven't been to the site, please have a look and check out our reviews (let us know what you think of what's been said too) and have a listen to some other great music by other artists while you're there.

Update: 18/3/3007 part 2
27000+ Plays - Only 73000 to go until we hit 100000!

Update: 22/3/3007
I Cut Off My Doll's Hair And Now She's Bald is 2000 Again - 2000 plays again today!

Update: 24/3/3007
Stop us and buy one! - We've set up a deviantART store were you can now buy postcards, prints, canvases, coasters, mugs of our artwork. We'll be adding more stuff as times goes on, but for the moment there are a few pieces from the current album. If you have a deviantART page yourself then let us know and we'll drop by to have a look at your work. You'll find us at apyxieworm.deviantart.com

Update: 24/3/2007 part 2
G Whizz on last.FM - We've put our track 'G Whizz' up onto last.FM as a full track preview if you didn't hear it when it was on myspace. There is also a new bit of artwork to go with it in our pics.

UPDATE: 8/4/2007
last.FM player - As we've put G Whizz onto last.FM and have been looking at other things on there, we've created a play list of what's on there so far. This will be updated as soon as the new stuff is out. Oooh, and we our total number of profile views hit over 16000 last week.

UPDATE: 11/4/2007
Birthday Celebration - Today is Mr. Pyxie Worms birthday! Cake and booze anyone?

UPDATE: 13/4/2007
Over 28000 Plays! - Thank you for listening. More news on the new stuff over the next couple of days!

UPDATE: 15/4/2007
www.apyxieworm.co.uk - Today we came a little closer to getting our stand-alone website up and running. We've uploaded the basic form of the website and will be adding all the missing bits as quickly as we can. If any of you out there do take a look at our site @: www.apyxieworm.co.uk we'd be grateful if you could let us know if things are displaying ok or not. We use Macs and don't know what any of this stuff will look like on PCs - so any pointers would be happily received.

UPDATE: 17/4/2007
The covers have now gone up for the new releases! We've been evolving a lot of things to get the two new albums as we want them and part of that has been the covers. If there is one thing that we really love in the Wormery, it's electronic gadgets, and that includes robots. The robot that appears on the covers is handmade by a good friend of ours - Karen (you'll find her in our top friends), who has some other wonderful creations in her pics, so please go and have a look. When this one arrived, we immediately had to change what we had put together and use some picture of this soft robot. It's really what we're about at the moment - robotic electronic music with a softer edge. Ooh, and by the way - we really do promise that it won't be long now!

UPDATE: 26/4/2007
3000! - That's over 3000 plays for I Cut Off My Doll's Hair and Now She's Bald. If you're reading this and haven't yet subscribed to the blog, you have until Saturday to do so if you want to win a new album or two.

UPDATE: 28/4/2007
Last Reminder - Today is the last opportunity to subscribe to the blog to be able to win our new albums! You have around 6 hours to click the button and subscribe as between 4-5pm our time today the first round will be closed! Click, Click!

UPDATE: 1/5/2007
Happy New Year - Yesterday was the day that we've been on myspace for a whole year! It only seems like yesterday that we started this page. Now Harbourside has 14000 plays, we've had over 17000 visits, we have 3 albums out, we've been interviewed on the radio, played on the radio, asked to play Glastonbury (and then told we're probably on the shortlist), made thousands of new friends, spent far to long messaging when we have other things to do, have our own website (www.apyxieworm.co.uk), our own online CD store, we're on iTunes and about 30 other online stores, we've had our first album reviewed, and so many, many other things have happened! We'd like to say a big thanks to everyone that's supported us over the last year, listened to our music, commented our pics.... we'll stop now as it's starting to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech! But you get the idea - thanks for making the last year a good place for us! Here's to the next... Cheers!

UPDATE: 5/5/2007
29000 Plays! - Woot!

UPDATE: 7/5/2007
Horizontal and Vertical NOW out! - The two new albums are now officially out. They are available on CD from our online store and will be available shortly from most download stores.

UPDATE: 7/5/2007 part 2
The Wormcast - On our website (www.apyxieworm.co.uk) you'll find The Wormcast which you can subscribe to for free downloads. To give you a little taster of our two new albums we've put a mixed version of each on there. In the future we'll be putting more stuff on there, including full free tracks so don't forget to subscribe.

UPDATE: 10/5/2007
For a short time we'll be running a special offer in our online store. For £20 +p&p you can get Horizontal, Vertical and Formica and Cork Tiles. Yep, that's right 3CDs for £20!

UPDATE: 20/5/2007
30000 plays! - 4000 of those for I Cut Off My Doll's Hair... and over 18000 profile views! Lots of numbers in the Wormery this week. I Cut Off My Doll's Hair... also entered round 2 on garageband.com this week too. We'll be removing the Wormcasts from myspace shortly (you can subscribe to these from our website) and there will be 2 full length tracks up in their places.

UPDATE: 28/5/2007
Weekly Update - The two new albums have started to appear in the download stores, so if they are not in the one you use yet, they should be there very soon. Even more new material is already happening in The Wormery, so you'll be getting an update in The Wormcast very soon. It looks as if Glastonbury is not happening this year for us as it's gone quiet from the people that originally asked us to play (never mind, there will be other occasions - WON'T THERE?). Thanks to everyone that has bought one or more of our CDs in the last week or so (it keeps us busy in the evenings after a hard days work making them up to send out to you). We've had lots of messages from people saying how much they liked them, so we're asking if you could add those messages to our blog to give others some insight into what to expect and of course to help in our bid for Worm World Domination! (muhahaha!).

UPDATE: 2/6/2007
T-Shirts and Hoodies - The Suns out and you're wondering what to wear?
Your Pyxie Worm friends are now on hand to sort out your summer wardrobe!
During the day while you're out in the sun you'll need one of their T-Shirts. Available in 4 (yes 4!) different designs and in sizes - small, medium, large and extra large.
When the evening arrives, change into your A PYXIE WORM Hoodie for that extra bit of warmth while you walk down the beach or sit around the camp fire. The same 4 designs and choice of sizes.
Design One has the A PYXIE WORM logo and the line 'Who Are They? Who Cares? We Like Them!'.
Design Two has The Robot images from their new albums.
Design Three has I Cut Off My Doll's Hair And Now She's Bald text and image, while Design Four has the Formica and Cork Tiles Cover design.
You can have a look in our pics to see what they look like or you can go straight to our online store at: www.apyxieworm.co.uk, the only place you can get your hands on them!

UPDATE: 10/6/2007
Faster Than Sound - We've had a quiet week in the Wormery, but yesterday ventured out to Faster Than Sound in Suffolk (myspace/fasterthansounduk). A great evening of art installations and music at the Bentwaters Airbase (some of you might know it from the Space Cadets programme on TV). A good value night out for lovers of alternative arts and culture. There were some great people playing - Hildur Gudnadottir, Mira Calix, Colleen, Plaid, Muziq, Modified Toy orchestra, Murcof - to name but a few of the people we saw (if you don't know any of these people look them up on myspace (they are all on here) as you're missing out on some good music). We also topped 19000 profile visits this week. More news soon and sorry if you've checked our blog for other stuff today, we did add this once but it vanished, so hopefully it's here now.

UPDATE: 18/6/2007
New Wormcast Coming Soon! - Yes, we've been busy at the wormery and a new wormcast is on the horizon. A small snippet of things to come...
We've also now hit over 4000 friends, so 'hi' to anyone new who's reading this. It's sometimes difficult to get back to people now as soon as messages and comments come through, but we'll try and get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks for all your continues support, messages and comments and can we ask - if you have our CDs or even if you've got our music as a download, please leave us a review in our blog as we'd love to hear from you.

UPDATE: 24/6/2007
Now with added music! - Our website: www.apyxieworm.co.uk now has a music player embedded in each of our albums discography pages. This means that you can listen to all of the tracks on all of the albums while you're visiting our site! We have almost sorted out a comments and visitors section too (not there yet - but soon!), so you'll be able to leave messages and comment or ask us questions very, very soon.
Although we didn't make Glastonbury this year (Mrs. APW isn't that fond of mud anyway!) we've made over 5000 plays on 'Doll's Hair' and the Pyxie Worm World Domination is coming on jolly nicely thank you! That promised Wormcast from last week is almost complete and ready to launch too!
One last thing for this update - Would you come and see us play live?

UPDATE: 2/7/2007
French Review - Not much to report on this week. Our friend Rabbit from IndieRockMag has written a review on Horizontal and Vertical which is online now at:www.indierockmag.com/article4177.html , so grab your phrase books and give it a read. On that, if you can give us a correct translation in English of this review and his review for Formica and Cork Tiles at: www.indierockmag.com/article2048.html , the first one to come through to us will get some FREE CDs.

UPDATE: 10/7/2007
Comments and Visitors - On the email page of our website you'll now find a little button with the word comments in it (looks a bit ugly at the moment as the code doesn't seem to want to work), click it and you'll go to the comments and visitors page. Leave us a message, tell us what you think of the website, what we should add, anything. We're moderating it, so if you send something that's obscene it won't make it onto the site, it'll just get binned and you'll be blocked!

We've had a few nice comments and would like to hear from more of you if you like the new stuff (Marshmallow Mountain and You Surprise My Everytime) or even if you don't (but please leave something constructive not just the usual 'you're crap' if you don't like it).

If you haven't already been to our new website at: www.apyxieworm.co.uk then you may not know about 'The Wormcast'.

The Wormcast is our version of the Podcast, but obviously with A Pyxie Worm twist.

As we go on we'll be adding more Wormcasts which could contain anything from some small clips of things we're working on to full free tracks (only free if you know about The Wormcast as they won't be anywhere else). We also intend our Wormcasts to be enhanced with images and video as they develope, so you'll get more than just music!

We also intend to run some competitions and giveaways within The Wormcast, so if you don't subscribe, you'll miss out. It costs you nothing, so why not give it a go. The first two Wormcasts have previews of the new albums Horizontal and Vertical, so subcribe now if you want to hear what they're sounding like.

As each Wormcast is released we'll list it's contents in this blog, but we won't tell you if there are any free tracks or competitions - you'll have to check it out to find that out.

Monday 7th May 2007 - Horizontal Wormcast
Preview to the new album Horizontal

Monday 7th May 2007 - Vertical Wormcast
Preview to the new album Vertical

Monday 27th August 2007 - Work In Progress
An update to what has been happening in The Wormery since Horizontal and Vertical.
This Wormcast is a full thirteen and a half minutes for you to listen to online or download and keep.
You'll hear some larger bits of tracks almost complete and some bits of tracks that we're still working on. Full tracks will start appearing online soon.
Get over to www.apyxieworm.co.uk to listen or subscribe.
