What's shakin everyone?
Well this rainy mess we call June has been a bit dreary, but I tell you what, once we get that sun it's going to be an explosion of smiles, optimism and fun. While it's stopped us all from going outside as much as we want, it's made me a pretty productive man. "Traveling Man" has been selling very well (reached #8 in the local charts!!!), so if you're part of the group that has already purchased it, thank you so much. If you haven't had a chance to check it out... it's available at Bull Moose in Portland, as well as at
Dig Station and
CD Baby. I have some new and exciting things going on musically, and I hope that all of you will be able to join in and celebrate them with me.
First off, this Saturday, our nation's independence day, I'm blessed to be able to sing with some of my favorite musicians in the world, the Murder of Crows. What's more American that a 16-piece funk band... nothing... nothing is more American than that. So after you see the fireworks, come on over.
I'm also going start playing with Dave Gagne and Eastwave Radio. Every Thursday at Bull Feeney's and every Sunday at Oasis, you can catch me with those raging reggae-rockin rollers. It's always exciting to play with new people, keeps things interesting and diverse, which is important in all aspects of life... a constant freshness.
But don't fret, The Model Airplane will still be raging every Monday, and we'll be having a different opener every week to share the stage with so many musicians that we love and respect. I'll also have some solo gigs, and duo gigs with my papa, Phil Divinsky, coming soon.
So keep your ears peeled for more performances. And if you have facebook and would like to become a fan of me, which is always awesome, you can go to
Lyle Divinsky's Facebook Music Page.
Alright, enough rambling for one day, thanks for stopping by and showing your support... it never goes unappreciated.
Paz y amor
Lyle
