The boys have been invited to particpate in a fantastic charity event coming up in May, called 500 songs for kids.

500 SONGS FOR KIDS is a 10-day live music marathon, counting down ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE'S 500 GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. We'll be counting down these 500 songs with 500 DIFFERENT BANDS/MUSICAL ACTS and SOLO ARTISTS, over a whirlwind 10-day period. This will be the largest musician involved charity event ever in Georgia, bringing together roughly 1500 individually performing musicians- all for an incredible cause.

GEORGIA is the first location to host this event, and soon after, we'll be bringing the SONGS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION, INC. and the 500 SONGS FOR KIDS countdown to other states.

The SONGS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION, INC. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit tax-exempt organization. Its purpose is to connect musicians, the music industry, and music fans with kids in need: Kids who are battling cancer, have lost a sibling or a parent, and kids who are suffering from many other life threatening diseases and problems.

WHAT is the Songs For Kids Foundation, Inc.?

We're a way for special kids camps and hospitals to get connected with musicians in their backyard. Are you a camp looking for a group to perform during your camp season? Are you a hospital looking for a singer-songwriter to entertain some of your kids? Are you a band looking to donate your time at a camp or hospital? Our goal is to bring everyone closer. Just fill out the appropriate form: camp/hospital application or performer form, and we'll get the word out to acts/ camps we think are appropriate for your situation.

We will perform song #71 on Friday May 11, 2007 at Smith's Olde Bar here in Atlanta. Hope to see you there!

We've got one last adventure before the year is out: the Lost Boys will appear plugged in and electric at Galactic Conquest III on New Year's Eve! The event is a family friendly weekend of fun with our friends Helios performing Saturday night, 12/30, at 9 PM. The amazing Three Quarter Ale will support their new CD "Entertwined" on New Year's Eve at 8:00 PM, followed by a costume contest at 10:00, with the Lost Boys going on at 11:00. Our first set will lead us up to midnight, and then we'll shake the rafters till the wee hours with a second set afterwards. This performance will feature the dual guitar onslaught of Angus and Wicked Pete, with String and Tom providing the foundation for a mind-boggling night of electric Renaissance Rock and Roll (thanks, Merlin!!).

Many of the proceeds from Galactic Conquest III will go to CURE Childhood Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing and eliminating this disease in our kids. The event will be holding an auction during the weekend to raise money for the cause, including several Lost Boys items: a number of signed comic prints of the Lads in action, an opportunity to have dinner with the Lost Boys, and a special teal violin signed by the Bonnie Boys in Blue.

well this is our first blog post, and as the old saying goes better late than never...some have heard the news and others haven't so for our friends and visitors not on the mailing lists here is the latest news fit to print.

Yes, its all true. Against all the odds, the Lost Boys came in second  place at the 2006 Open Mic Madness held at Smiths Olde Bar! The first  place winners were a band called Dead Confederate who were truly  deserving of the prize, but our 3 man line up this evening hung with them to the very end.

Aaron, String, and Tom took to the stage as the 6th band of the  night, and won round five with another rendition of Art Thou Ready?  Round six featured Wake Up, Sleepy Town as the Lads made the top four,  and the seventh and final round consisted of the one-two punch of Life  Is Good and Mystic Caravan. All night long the Boys were juggling  guitar parts and jumping between vocal lines, with our friends in the  audience blazing the trail for us and showing the rest of crowd how to join in. It was an incredible night, and an incredible week for us, a  new high mark in the history of the Lost Boys. Out of 120 something bands, we were in the top two!

Many, many thanks go out to Wicked Pete Speakeasy for carrying us  through the first 4 rounds, and big hugs to all of you who came out to cheer us on. We owe it all to you, and to everyone who  has supported us and helped get us here, Lost Boys fans, WE LOVE YOU  ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our next appearance will be at Pirate Palooza in Decatur, GA, on  Saturday, Sept. 16. Please be safe until then, and thank you for all that you do for us!
