Boy oh boy here we go again; twelve months on from rounding off our inaugural year at the Ministry of Sound with a sell out New Years Eve show we are back to do it again. Yes that’s right The Gallery, one of the leading weekly club nights in the world is back to take over Ministry of Sound for a New Years Eve Spectacular that only we can deliver!

We have rounded up a bevy of the biggest and best Gallery djs to take over the four rooms of the Ministry of Sound, the place we now call home each and every Friday night. Rapidly approaching our fifteenth birthday (our second at Ministry of the Sound following the closure of the legendary Turnmills); The Gallery continues to set the pace that others try to emulate.

After another record year at the world famous venue in Gaunt Street; including hosting an arena at the infamous SW4 festival with the likes of Armin van Buuren and Above and Beyond; The Gallery is rounding the year off in style with an eleven hour New Years Eve clubbing spectacular.
The New Years Eve line-up is no different; blending the biggest and best djs and talent to create the perfect Gallery clubbing experience. First up we have one of our favourite sons, a dj we have witnessed grow into one of the world’s biggest names and a dj we are hugely proud to call one of our residents. Be upstanding for the one and only Sander van Doorn.

Jetting in from mainland Europe on a private jet this will be Sander’s only UK show on New Year’s Eve and we are delighted that he has chosen his London home to come and round the year off in style. With another huge year behind him including the launch of his concept night ‘Dusk till Doorn’ at The Gallery as well as mixing disc two of the Cream Ibiza compilation, appearances at every major dance festival and event the world over and a stream of top draw tunage on his Doorn Recordings imprint; Sander continues to dominant the scene with his unique sound and fresh approach.

An ever present force at The Gallery with his monthly residency, Judge Jules makes a welcome return to these shores for his first New Years Eve in the UK since 2000. Easily one of the hardest working and most enthusiastic djs around, Jules continues to fly the flag the world over for dance music; from his hugely popular Radio 1 show to his weekly Judgement Sunday night in Ibiza and everywhere in between. We are hugely privileged and excited to be welcoming him to The Gallery for his first New Years Eve in the UK since the millennium. A sure fire crowd pleaser, Jules will no doubt be armed to the teeth with his usual array of killer tunage; perfect to see the New Year in with style.

And to add a twist this year Tall Paul and Judge Jules will be selecting ten of the biggest tunes from the year to throw open to The Gallery faithful the opportunity to vote for their favourite to play at midnight. Look out for our special video interviews with them both coming soon with a full rundown of how to get involved in making this year go out with an extra special bang. We are delighted to be welcoming Gallery main man Tall Paul to take up the midnight mantle with his usual style and grace that we have come to expect from one of the true legends of the scene.

Always keen to showcase talent at The Gallery; Simon Patterson rounds off an incredible year by returning to Ministry of Sound. One of a handful of djs that The Gallery books regularly over the year; Simon has rocked the Box on each of his visits whilst racking up some serious air miles on his travels elsewhere. A consistent producer with no less than eight consecutive Beatport number ones, Simon’s full on tech trance sound has to be heard on the Ministry of Sound system to be believed and tonight will be no exception.

Matt Hardwick continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of trance with his Kill the Lights imprint releasing a whole host of big tunes this year as well as mixing the Gatecrasher Birthday and Digital Society compilation. Always one to deliver a killer trance set at just the right time Matt will be taking it up a notch in all the right ways to help us see in 2010.

The main room will be rounded off in style with the inclusion of Gallery residents Gavyn Mytchel and The Viceroy who will be providing the usual finale. Over in the Bar we welcome our good friends from the Elektrik Playground with a headline performance from Riley and Durrant alongside Gallery resident Tania von Pear and a real rising talent Gareth Harding.

The Loft welcomes Steve Lee and Friends bringing together a bevy of Gallery legends from other the years in the superb surroundings of the Loft.
With a limited number of £35 early bird tickets on sale right now we are firmly sticking to our motto of Excellence in the Art of Sound with another world class New Years Eve line-up... get involved!

Ministry of Sound is 18 years old this weekend and to help celebrate this milestone we at The Gallery are kicking off their Birthday weekender on Friday 25th September with a mother of all line-ups!! Very few brands and clubs enjoy the worldwide recognition and acclaim that Ministry of Sound enjoy. To help blow the candles out on this monumental birthday cake we have invited a typical Gallery line-up of legends to kick start the weekend in style. First up is the much talked about Boy George, joined by Gallery regular and Radio 1 jock Judge Jules, Gallery main man Tall Paul and residents Gavyn Mytchel and The Viceroy round off the Box.

The Birthday bash gets bigger still as The Bar is hosted by those nutters at Grin Recordings with two very special headline guests in the shape of  King Roc and Deepgroove. Both DJs are long-time Gallery favourites and it’s great to have them back in the groove this Friday night! Grin residents Jack Michaels, James Edwards, Mark Batch, Yiannis Balkizas and Chris Canning get in on the Birthday action too, leaving the ever brilliant Plastic Fondu to keep it going in The Loft, whilst Evissa tear up the Baby Box! Happy Birthday Ministry, 18 years young!!

Check out Data transmissions new mobile webite at http://dtsmall.mobi on your phone. If you find the gallery's listing there is a special mobile concession flyer which will get you in cheaper if shown at the door.. Happy hunting!

INTERVIEW

***JUDGE JULES
What did you do to celebrate your 18th Birthday?
My friends arranged a surprise drag party for me.

What song / track sticks in your mind from when you were 18 (can be chart / dance / anything)?
New Order- Blue Monday

And finally whats your birthday message and advice to Ministry of Sound on its 18th Birthday?
Keep it legal...

***TALL PAUL
What did you do to celebrate your 18th Birthday?
Where else could it be but Turnmills. Invited the whole mob down.

What song / track sticks in your mind from when you were 18 (can be chart / dance / anything)?
The tune of the moment then was Voodoo Ray- A guy called Gerald, blew my socks off.

And finally whats your birthday message and advice to Ministry of Sound on its 18th Birthday?
Nice to see a club still around that you watched and grew up with. Still and great space and sound experience and Im glad where part of it...

***MATT HARDWICK
What did you do to celebrate your 18th Birthday
I went to a club night in sunny Sheffield called the Jam Factory I remember it well, sasha and dave seaman played. Italian house was massive at the time (hands in the air!)

What song / track sticks in your mind from when you were 18 (can be chart / dance / anything)
Something like Gat Decor - passion. That was huge and used to regularly get the accapella treatment.

And finally whats your birthday message and advice to Ministry of Sound on its 18th Birthday
Well done for making it and long may your success continue...

***THE VICEROY
What did you do to celebrate your 18th Birthday?
I was still at school preparing for my A Levels, I went to one of these boarding schools in the middle of nowhere so we went for a curry in the local town - a fucking shocking way to celebrate my coming of age i admit!! Iv been making up for it since though I promise you!!!

What song / track sticks in your mind from when you were 18 (can be chart / dance / anything)?
I remember around my birthday that Peter Andre re-released Mysterious Girl and that Cha Cha Slide track were big - some truly terrible music!!!.

I had decks in my room at school and was buying vinyl by mail-order each week (oh how times have changed) and remember Kyau vs Albert - Velvet Morning (Aalto Remix) being a massive track for me - in fact ill dig that out for this weekends Birthday for my final set

3And finally what’s your birthday message and advice to Ministry of Sound on its 18th Birthday
Happy Birthday MOS... keep the excellence in the art of sound... you know it makes sense!!!

***GAVYN MYTCHEL
What did you do to celebrate your 18th Birthday
I hired a local club out on a sunday night and got about 80 mates down, it was only a small venue which held around 150 but i did a flyer and arranged the djs etc.. it was the start of something that became my full time job 4 years later.

What song / track sticks in your mind from when you were 18 (can be chart / dance / anything)
I think delacy / hideaway was out then which was quite massive!

And finally whats your birthday message and advice to Ministry of Sound on its 18th Birthday
Keep building on both Friday and Saturday nights, between The Gallery and the Saturday Sessions we have 90% of the best djs in the world playing every weekend which makes Ministry one the best venues in the UK if not the world

Morning Mr Roth how does The Gallery find you this morning?

A little tired actually ;)
?You got me just now at Singapore Airport stopping over from Australia going back home to Berlin in the next hour ... but with some nice memories from the last days in my head so I'm feeling good and still a little pumped.?As many people know Aussie is everytime something very special for Mr. Roth and so it was this time again ... was touring Brisbane, Cairns, Adelaide, Sydney ending with two outstanding gigs in my capital Melbourne :)

You are playing this coming Friday to launch your international residency at The Gallery, tell us a little about your history with The Gallery?
haha ... yes, that's actually right ... when looking back definately a kind of history has happened here ..! =)
?I still remember the first time playing at Gallery for Vaccine - in the earlier days still happening @ turnmills - when I was first blown away by the warm welcome of all the guys, then blown away by some whiskey coke and finally blown away by this labyrinth ;) , so I got completely lost not able to find my way out of this pleasure garden!

But after a while and several years I got used to this maze by all means like my London & UK fanbase got more and more used to me, so after playing alongside the biggies like Above&Beyond, Oakenfold, Sander van Doorn, Fergie, Josh Wink etc. and after the move to Ministry of Sound I am very happy to do the next step now ...

You are joining the international residents at The Gallery which include Markus Schulz, Sander van Doorn and Hernan Cattaneo, tell us how that feels?
Honestly Gallery & MOS is a massive brand in my opinion presenting every week the A-Liste worlds electronic music acts and apart from that also everytime a highlight on my tours and everytime a pleasure to come back as  warm welcome is guaranteed each time - so I am VERY proud to be able to join exactly THIS family now ... and then being added to the list of MS, SvD and especially Hernan is really something outstanding for me and makes me try now even harder to showcasing a terrific and excellent performance.

You are a busy producer, tell us a little about what you have coming up in terms of productions and originals?

There is a lot cooking currently in the MR kitchen - honestly soo much and the intention was already to have all that out in summer so far, but after the success of the NuStyle sound of the last months and the corresponding demand of Remixes & Touring, I have underestimated a bit the time which was taken away from me by touring a lot and travelling to be honest.

What else does the coming months hold for you in terms of traveling and gigs?
After my stop at Gallery / MOS in September I will go down to South America for 2 weeks followed by some stuff in Asia and Europe as well like Russia, Finland and Poland - so the typical madness ;)

What three tunes are currently doing it for you?
Kolombo - Je T'aime (Carlo Lio Remix)?Egostereo - Paeonia
Size- Koebel (Nihad Tule Remix)

and my mixes for Lostep/Sashas "Burma" & Emmanuel Tops "Turkish Bazar"

... which are actually 5 now :S

?Which producer has really caught your attention of recent?
It is pretty hard nowadays to mention just one as so many new talents are coming up or already established ones are doing massive new tracks.
To name a few guys, it would be Carlo Lio who ist doing some cool Techno stuff, then I like Fergie atm a lot, who is putting out some great products recently and also the one and only Eric Prydz can still never fail with his progressive driven bassline oriented tunes under the Cirez D and Pryda alias.

Which dj do you really rate who is coming through?
Also here - it is pretty hard to name just one as I have a lot of new and everlasting favourites ... my hero is still Sven Vaeth, who is simply the most charismatic and musicwise the msot influential one, then I had been to a David Guetta gig and I was completely blown away and from another camp not to forget MarLo - a Melbourne based new raising star from Australia - he was playing alongside me and he is moving the crowd - believe me! - so as you can see - I am into many genres and styles and let myself inspire from everything which is crossing my life.

What are your three favourite non-dance music tracks?
Depeche Mode - Enjoy the silence (actually I shouldn't pick just one track - I think every DM is my favourite)
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
The Killers - Mr. Brightside

... just to name a few ...

And your pet hate?
C Bayern Munich .... ;o))

I am supporting in the German (soccer) Bundesliga the Team of Hamburg which is the "Hamburger SV" - and this really heavily since ages ... so my mood is also changing a lot on the weekends depending how my team has played ... so "Bayern Munich" was all the time not just for me the pet hate ... but they are struggling a bit in the last years, so actually this fact is making it even nicer currently ;)

We’re proud to be welcoming four djing and producing duos to lead the charge for doubles themed night of Gallery par excellence. First up we welcome Kyau & Albert who continue to set the trance world alight with their excellent Euphonic Records imprint. Earlier this year they won ‘The Best HiNRG/Euro’ track at the 24th International Dance Music Awards in Miami whilst in 2008 their remix of Cressida’s ‘6AM’ was the highest selling trance track on Beatport.com. Fresh from their recent return to The Gallery German duo Cosmic Gate make 2nd exclusive appearance this summer. Having had a massive summer including mixing the Privilege compilation for the world’s biggest club, they’ve been busy touring the world over and stop off in London for their next major set on the decks! Fire… Wire!!! Super 8 & DJ Tab join us from their native Finland where they continue to do the business with a bevy of heavily supported tunage and are always top draw performers on previous visits to The Gallery. Just recently they’ve remixed the PVD anthem ‘Nothing But You’ and are also working on an artist album too which, fingers crossed, will be out at the end of the year. Look out for some exclusive cuts on the night!! Stoneface & Terminal - label partners with Kyau and Albert at Euphonic complete our line-up of dj duos. The guys are consistent remixers and producers of some of the biggest tunes over the past few years and any self respecting trance fans are in for a huge treat. The main room is rounded off by Gallery residents Gavyn MytchelThe Viceroy whilst the bar welcomes the globe-trotting sounds of Koolwaters with headline action from Godskitchen resident Paul Thomas and resident and Marc Vedo.

I..ve been playing for The Gallery for years now and i think the best thing is the consistency of the crowd. You always  know that you gonna have a great number of enthusiastic clubbers on the dancefloor.

You’ll be playing a four hour set, what can we expect to hear from you?
The best about long sets is that you can play a bigger variety of sounds, so i like to start more deep and housey and then build from there.
Got some very good new tunes at the moment so i..m really looking forward to test them at MOS.. great sound system

What are your top three tunes for the summer?
1- the new henry saiz track coming on renaissance (still unnamed)
2- bedrock-tangent
3- matt playford-moonprism

What’s tunes/albums are dominating your I-pod at the moment?
That new ambient mix from Nick Warren

What’s coming up in the Summer months for you?
More and More touring in Europe since the Summer is the busiest part of the year, then shows in the US and off to South America for the start of their Summer in November.

What three words best describe your music?
Deep, Groovy, Melodic

As the sun is shining and we’re discussing your style in music, what flavour/type of ice-cream would best complement your music and why?
Cream covered with white chocolate

NICK MUIR INTERVIEW

Morning Mr Muir how does The Gallery find you on this fine Monday?
Apart from wondering whether I've soldered enough leads to play a live set, very well thanks!

You are performing a very special live set at this Friday's Gallery event - exactly what will that involve and what can we expect?
You can expect somebody who's old enough to know better standing behind a bunch of electronic gear praying that it all
keeps working! I'm gonna take the computer right out of its comfort zone and bring it face to face with a sweaty club. I'm
hoping it might learn something. I'll probably tickle the ivories a bit as well.

I'll play a few new bits and dust off one or two old faves...maybe.

Your discography reads like a progressive's who who of top tunage, what tune (s) are you most proud of and why?
Obviously For What You Dream Of has a special place in our hearts, that track has a life of its own... I'm also proud of our
remix of Underworlds Cowgirl and I thought Gridlock was a good achievement - 25 minutes of weirdness which holds the floor -

What have you been working on recently and what have you got coming up release wise?
Dave Seaman signed a new tune of mine called 'Fu Man Chew' to Audiotherapy, its on his upcoming compilation - John and
I are gonna follow up the success of Tangent with a new tune which we're working on, there's remixes to do and the usual
list of things that I cant tell you about or Diggers will send one of his security guards to silence me once and for all!

Over the course of your career in dance music what do you think has been the biggest changes to the scene?
At its core its still all about playing brilliant dance music very loud over sound systems to a crowd of people who are
in the right frame of mind for a party. The biggest changes have got to be the digital revolution and my waist
measurement.

The Gallery continues to expound it’s mantra of Excellence in the Art of Sound throughout the height of summer on Friday 14th August, with yet more international heavyweights from the electronic music scene for clubland’s aural consumption. Italy’s biggest dance music export Mauro Picotto will be no doubt stepping off yet another plane as he touches down fresh from his midweek Ibizan party Meganiteto headline in The Box. The Gallery also welcomes Jerome Is-Mae to the ones and twos at the world famous Ministry of Sound. Scotland’s Jason Cortez adds another facet to the stylistic spectrum with his techno and electro influenced hard dance and finally David Newsum returns home from Dubai and his to round off a supremo Box line up.

Brighton based trio My Digital Enemy headline the Bar with a signature sound of progressive tech-house with a trance twist that has been grabbing the attention of clubbers and DJs alike. 2009 has already seen some great releases from the trio including ‘Amazon’, ‘Wasted’ feat Mooli and last month’s ‘Sunrise’. MDE are supported in the Bar by Tom Raines , Antonio Nevaro , Dave Horne, Jamie  Parnell.  With the Baby Box and Loft being hosted by Future Friday Feeling and Plastic Fondu respectively peak time summer is sure to be a scorcher regardless of the weather!

For us, it’s just business as normal at Gallery HQ.
