Become A Blue Ridge Rollergirl!

Think you have what it takes to be a lightening-fast jammer or a tough-as-nails blocker? Here's your chance to show us what you're made of.

*you must be 21 or older.

When
Monday November 2, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Please arrive at 6:40 to allow yourself time to gear up.
It takes approximately 35 minutes to get from Asheville to Hendersonville.

From Asheville:
Take I-26 East toward Hendersonville / South Carolina.
Take the Upward Rd. exit (exit 53). Take a right off the exit ramp onto Upward Rd.
Stay straight on Upward Rd. 1.3 miles until it ends at Ingle's grocery store.
Take a right onto Spartanburg Highway.
Go 1/2 mile, and Skater's Choice will be on the left.
The sign is small and easy to miss. You turn into the parking lot just after A Growing Concern (a small garden center just past the Citgo gas station).


What to bring
We have a big stinky bag of equipment that's available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We also have rental skates available. That said, eventually you will need the following gear:

quad skates
helmet
wrist guards
elbow pads
knee pads
mouthguard

Please keep in mind that we must sometimes reschedule practices to alternate times at our rink's request. Information on any changes to normal practice times will be available here on our blog. Be sure to check here to make sure we are practicing when you plan on joining us!

Tuesday, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Skater's Choice, Hendersonville - Newbie Practice during the rink's Open Public Skate session. A training committee representative for BRRG may or may not be present. If not, work on your speed, agility, and/or basic skills if you have learned them.

Come help us kick our third season off with a bang! We'll start rockin' at 9pm on Saturday, March 21st at Stella Blue in downtown Asheville. For $7 you'll be surrounded by the oh so lovely Blue Ridge Rollergirls, entertained by Bombs Away Cabaret Burlesque, DJ's Crick Nice & Adam Strange. You'll also have the opportunity to help us out and buy some awesome art that's been donated by local and regional artists! Come get your groove on!

The Blue Ridge Rollergirls would like to thank everyone for their support during our '08 season. We have had a roller coaster year with lots of ups and downs our 2nd season. We met a lot of great challenges, rose above a lot, and surrendered to defeat some too. Thanks to all our fans and volunteers and to everyone who has been a part of this season!

Wow!   We are super proud of the challenges we took on this year. Having an undefeated 1st season last year was super thrilling.  But we pushed ourselves in 2008 and faced a lot of tough, tough teams!  Still struggling to grow and build our league, we are still going through a lot of transitions.  But as always, we are excited and hopeful about our future. Our last bout last Saturday has us all charged to TRAIN HARD and committed to rising above again!  We will be back better than ever for 2009!

Looking forward to many more seasons with you, our loyal fans, volunteers, and supporters!  We couldn't do it without you!  Thanks for keeping us rollin'!

The Blue Ridge Rollergirls rocked another victory Sunday night, August 26th, 2007, shutting down Athens GA's visiting Classic City Rollergirls here at Carrier Park.

Congrats, BRRG, on another win!

 

Thanks to Classic City for a great bout and for being great sports and...well...just being great on AND off the rink!  We look forward to a rematch with these gals in the near future!
