Dirty Boy
Whoooooooo there!!! What is this PHAT, Heavyweight Breaks track – well worthy of spinning in any venue doing unsigned? Perfect bpm for Breakbeat in my opinion as DJ, and would mix in well with any of my classic Breakbeat selection.
First time I heard this track, it stopped and then I pressed play, and then it stopped again, and I pressed play lol.
I was trying to pick faults – find something to moan about (cause I am a woman after all ;-P) and I couldn't. Apart from the first effect sound scared the living daylights out of me, but hey that's my problem…or maybe it is a tad too loud?? But such a minor moan ;-P
Right from the start the building kick beat means business…driven on by that large and Dirty Bass line – I would LOVE to hear that filtering out over the crowd on a 20k rig – and then claim the glory as they go crazy on the drop!! ;-P lol. Dj joke – just kidding!! I read your comments and Hogdaddy mentions it is has a very analogue sound. I have to agree totally, and also say that maybe that is the sound that makes Dirty Boy stand above the crowd - that and of course the bass and the wickedly tempting vocal. The vocal sounds perfect for the track. The tone of her voice, her spot on position in the mix and the effects you have added are all excellent. Percussion and groove are crafted with love – well executed, timing is precise. Add to that the crispness of not just the percussion, but all the sounds and you have one large track on your hands. Production is tight as a ducks ass and clean as a whistle – Really good job guys.
Dirty Boy is one Large track that should be banging out across at every Breakbeat venue around!! Best of luck with the album, and as this is a taster; I feel it will be one STONKER when it is ready. Add to that your great image and artwork, I think Fluid breaks have a shiny future….now to the showers with you!!

Fluid Breaks - Elemental (Mediasource Competition Entry
Overall Rated 9.5 / 10
Track Structure 9 Interest 10 Melody 9 Performance 10 Lyrics 9 Enjoyment 10 Recording Quality 10 Commercial Appeal 9 Overall 9.5
Elemental' by Fluid Breaks - (Musical Science Grade 1)
The biography page of Fluid Breaks states "Never be the ordinary, always be different" and it's pleasing to witness that this statement is once again confirmed by the release of their recent track 'Elemental' available for free download on their page at Mp3Unsigned.com.
Living up to the Breakbeat//Big Beat//Electro genres of musical sound scaping Fluid Breaks have supplied us with a musical lesson in science defining the names of various gases I thought I'd never hear mentioned again after leaving school some 30 years back – (Oops, there I go letting slip that I'm one of the aged gang of reviewers).
'Elemental' oozes quality with the structure & production of the piece of the highest standard. The intro of really impressive atmospherics, bass drops & pads increasing in volume level prior to the break beat drums commencing their aural onslaught are absolutely first rate. The vocal samples used, at times distorted & twisted, are pitched & placed perfectly within the music and although are only basic statements & naming of specific gases, are a necessity in their repetitiveness being the main key to the piece & it's title.
The FX are thoughtfully introduced rather than seemingly slotted in for the sake of it. The hypnotic, almost trance inducing electronic instrumentation is incredibly relaxing, yet stimulating enough to retain interest throughout the full 4 minutes & 16 seconds of the track, whilst the bass synth is pleasingly 'dirty' & powerful confirming Fluid Breaks as masters in the production of musical electronica.
If you are a fan of electronic music & synthesised aural stimulation, or have never given thought to checking out this style or genre, may I recommend you set aside half an hour to let your mind meld into the enormous wall of sound that is Fluid Breaks.
Beginning with 'Elemental', I'd suggest allowing your senses to absorb the fullness of sound, the impressive production skills & the extreme aural perceptive attention to complexity that is Fluid Breaks. Finishing with a repeat playing of 'Dirty Boy', (one hell of a track that IMO deserves worldwide commercial release), I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Fluid Breaks are Tom Parkinson & Tomos Crowle – a sound force partnership worthy of your urgent attention !
