When some shit happens to you at a down point in your life, you wonder why? You wonder "why keep stacking on with what's already going on? I'm dealing with enough as it is, jackass."
Maybe that last part is just me... you know. Mouth like a sailor and all that jazz. Regardless, we all know life's propensity to throw us a curveball with a 1-2 count. Fucking curveballs. What we don't realize at the time is that Life is gassed on the mound and all it has left for us, is that same shitty hanging curve that we've seen so often. We aren't looking at the curveball and saying "Oh ok, I know where that one's gonna go." We're expecting another fastball over the middle and (because its in our nature), we get flustered when we see something isn't as it should be.
I went into last year (2008) saying that I was going to make it "My Year". I was going to reconcile my past with my ex. I was finally going to get off my ass and take charge of my life. I was going to start moving forward with the plans I had made instead of constantly making plans. Then what happened? Mom passed away. Curveball, strike 3. Sit down champ. Next at bat i'm all jazzed up. I'm going to move on with my life, leave the shit down here in Florida and finally be with (The godless cock whore). After Four Hundred and Nintey-Three foul tips, finally I dropped the bat and charged the mound and got myself thrown out of the game. But fucking A it was worth it.
After an entire year of sitting around, smoking pot and just feeling sad and depressed, things had diminished further. Not only was my year of planning for naught, the one constant (The godless cock whore) had moved on without me. Fucking bitch. Things got worse at work and instead of picking myself up by my bootstraps and contributing to the war efforts, I sat like a bump on a log and watched.
At the time when our relationship (The godless cock whore) was winding down, a friend of mine was going through a rough patch of her own. Her boyfriend (with whom she *just* had a baby girl) had decided that he was going to go crazy. Not only did he leave her a single mother with their kid... he left her a single mom of TWO kids. Who the fuck would do such a thing? Being the nice guy that I am (Or the sucker for "Damsel in distress" scenarios, you make the call), I decided to let my friend know that if she needed anything, I was only as far away as the phone. As if I didn't have enough shit on my plate, I decided to effectively, let this single mother of 2 cry on my shoulder whenever she wanted.
2009 rolls around, and my friend and I had got to be pretty close. I can't complain, hell why would I? She's awesome. Not only is she awesome, her kids are awesome. Everything about the girl, is awesome. Then I started to realize that I wasn't just a friend anymore... we actually had started to develop feelings for each other. That was a little awkward to realize. For the longest time, I had always had it in my head that whomever I ended up with was going to not have any kids. I've always wanted to start and raise a family of my own, I guess thats just the basic level of my programing. I think thats in all of us, whether we care to admit it or not.
But somehow, this single mother of two had grown on me so much, that I started to have feelings for her. And not just "Yeah she's pretty cool" feelings. Like "You know what, I could really see us together" type feelings. All the normal hangups that would preclude me from a relationship like this didn't matter. Truth be told, they never really even registered. I don't think I was looking at her like that initially. However over the last year, getting to know her better, watching her children grow... its all just seemed... right. I'd like to think that Life has decided that its going to give me a unique woman, with a unique situation, to match my (definately) unique life.
It was as if Life was saying "Hey big boy... here's my curve. If you've seen it once, you've seen it a thousand times, when are you going to step up and jack it out of the park?"
*crack* goes the bat.
I have no idea what's in store for this new relationship. I just know I'm not worried, like I have been in the past. She really digs me... I really dig her... and Life is standing on the mound, jaw open, going "Son of a bitch I didn't know a ball could travel that far."
So, pardon me. I've got to go trot around the bases now. Life threw me a curveball and I just yanked it out of the park.

Life is full of harsh realities. Its a shame that so many good people get swept up in the overwhelming rush that usually accompanies them, that many just give in. They decide its not worth the fight. I'm almost at that point but my own damn stubbornness refuses to let me give in. So I continue to trudge on through the day. Meaningless as it is, much like the mule who's stubbornness I share. We feel the same burden. People rely on us, depend on us, tell us "Come on... I just need you this one more time." When they're done... they just leave us where they found us.
And so we stand around. Looking. Wondering what we did to get put into this position in the first place when all along, we're wondering for no reason. This is who we are. We were born for this very job. Its not lavish, its not rewarding, and its sure not fulfilling.
I used to think I was a pretty decent guy and wondered what I was doing wrong; being who I am and not having a good woman beside me. Now I realize. The only woman who'll ever be beside me is the farmer's wife bringing the farmer a glass of tea.
And so I plow on. Day after day after endless, thankless, day.

Hey now. Work has been dead, so in between texting and reading CNN on the phone, i've just been listening to the radio and jotting down different stuff. Mostly ideas for jokes but I had a doozy of a theory today. Over the next couple of minutes, I'm going to lay out for you why the Republicans doomed their chances in the South East region for the next few election cycles. At least 2, could be more.
First, you have to understand that for years now, no president has ever been able to win an election without winning the south. The south, for the most part, decides the election. Scary thought, I know. We're good people, honest. Its just the stupid ones who make it on camera. Anyways, back to the (R)'s shooting themselves in the feet. Since 2003 we've been bent over the more and more expensive barrel of oil that we were promised would go to $22. Rupert Murdoch, owner of Newscorp, said oil would go to $22 if we went into Iraq. He just left off the 1 in-between the $ and 2. Oil skyrocketed.
Oil companies made more money because the product was skyrocketing in price, without a drastic jump in the cost of extraction. Everyone at the companies were making money. So mid-late July, the commodities bubble popped and Oil started its crash back downwards. If you have a company that takes one product, turns it in to another, then sells it to a buyer on a regular basis, thats all you do, you would be doing what the gasoline refineries do. It cost them a certain ammount to refine the crude oil into gasoline. If the price of the oil that they're refining is going down, when they're continuing to refine and charge companies what it was earlier in the week, the refinery is making money. Imagine your profit margin shooting up if the base cost of your products went from $147 to $90? Now realize that your charging your customers what it cost you to refine the gasoline, at $125. And it costs you $90.
Hey man, its just greed. Just a little of the ol' green eyed monster. He rears his head every now and then. The oil comapnies did it for 5 years, the refineries got to do it this summer. Why? We had a hurricane. A couple. Some that brushed the platforms in the gulf, but mostly Ike who got a running start and plowed into Galveston. Dumping as much as 8-10" of rain. What does all this have to do with the Republicans shooting themselves in the foot? I'm getting to it. Just be patient :)
For weeks leading up to Ike, oil companies had been slimming production output at the refineries, citing problems with those unsinkable oil platforms of theirs in the gulf. You know, the ones that didn't have any major spills* during Katrina. They had problems with the pipelines and the platforms in the gulf, so they decided they needed to scale back production. When you cut your customers off from the product that they buy, you are able to charge more for your product. Less of it on the market, so the price goes up. Gas was going up for a week before the Hurricane hit. When Ike came, it shut down the refineries totally. For the country, this isn't that big a deal. For the already-in-a-recession South East US, who was already having a hard time getting along as it is, now they have no gasoline, this was the knockout punch.
Let me clarify the bolded statement. Since gasoline has been going up in late 2002/2003, the south has been deteriorating more and more. When gasoline hit $4 a gallon, we were on the tipping point of a depression. Companies are withdrawing business operations daily. The regions largest automobile dealer, Bill Heard, closed all of its operations and close to 10,000 people are now without jobs. Manufacturing jobs that have resided here because of the already-cheap wages are now outsourcing because thats the only way they can keep their company above water. The economy has been bad. Those of you in other parts of the country should consider yourself lucky.
When Ike came and shut down refinery capacity all together, you might as well have started sawing off the states, Bugs Bunny style in an attempt to get us away from the rest of the country. The refineries in Galveston supply the entire SE with its fuel. The Entire South East. No gasoline. No gas. People already have to go to work wondering whether they have a job, now they have to go to work wondering whether they have a job, and wondering where the hell they can find gas to fill up their car, which is now $6 dollars a gallon when they can find it.
Our economy is done. We are finished. If we see a turn-around in 5 years I would be surprised. The only sort of relief Florida will see at all is when the housing market bottoms out. People love bargins, and people love Florida. We're safe in that sense, but the rest of the region is done. All because of some greed. The ol' green eyed monster. Those in power knowingly let Oil get artificially inflated in price, making everyone in the know a metric assload of money. Then they made money shorting it. Then the REFINERIES made their money through a natural disaster. Now the gas stations are making money by continuing to hold the price up. Oil is $91.48 right now. You know how much gas was at that level? Around $2.70. Cheapest I can find here is $3.39, which I payed yesterday. $0.70 increase in price per gallon? Are you freaking kidding me? What's the justification? Its not taxes, the taxes haven't changed. Its not the ethanol, thats supposed to make it cheaper, remember? Once again, it boils back down to the most basic of words associated with these oil companies: greed. Ol' Greeny.
So, your saying by now (If you stuck around this long), "What does all this have to do with the Republicans shooting themselves in the feet?" Simple. We in my beloved region do not forget so easily those who screwed us. Of course there will be those who turn both blind eyes to the facts and continue to support these crooks. Thats fine. I'm not one to tell you how to vote. How ever, these "Joe Sixpacks" that Sarah Palin keeps talking about are sitting in their living room, with a Single 24oz can because they can't afford a 6 pack anymore, saying "What in the hell do you have in common with me?" Greed has caused these people to mortgage their own futures. They love money so much that they would alienate the people that put them in office, to screw them some more and make a little bit more on their backs. There are plenty of people in the region who might've gone along with the conservative movement because they bought the bullshit, hook line and sinker. Those people are also smart enough to realize that they've just been bullshitted, and they're not going to allow that anymore. Barack is going to be elected president in November, and after 4 years he's going to win in the biggest landslide re-election that my generation will see. This election is already close because mainly, of the southeast. We're ignorant. God bless us, but we're kinda stupid. When they see that Obama isn't a secret terrorist muslim trying to become president to enslave the whites as payback for slavery... they're going to vote him in ASA Fuckin' P because they can see a return to the Democratic Party of FDR. The South East was a stronghold of the Democrats for years. The Jim Crowe era did a number on us, but I think we're just about ready to check back into the game for the Democrats.
Florida's going to go for Obama. I have a sneaking suspicion Georgia will too. You watch though... Republicans will be shooting themselves in the foot for letting gas get to $6 bucks a gallon in this region. We're gonna remember that for a long time to come, fuckers.
By the way, that took forever and 9 days. I started writing this at 9:19 am and its 9:59 now... so I appreciate you sticking around and reading it. If not and you bailed out, totally understand. Revising it I was even wanting to shoot me.
*Major spills is defined as losing more than 250,000 barrels of oil, many many many platforms lost 80-125,000 barrels of oil during Katrina

Life is what you make it. If you go around trying to make things for the better, your life will be for the better. If you try to love everything your life, it will be full of love.
Fucking horseshit.
If you go around trying to make things better, no one listens. If you go around trying to spread love, you get used and abused and tossed aside when your usefulness is up.
It was so much easier when I just smoked pot all day and played video games. Fuck this.

You know, if I were able to communicate with the dead I would dig up our founding fathers and inform them of the debacle thats going on right now with the American economy, attatch a series of magnets to the sides of their caskets and generate enough electrical power to send a space ship to the other side of Pluto and back.
Once upon a time America used to be the cats ass. We had it all man. Giant Cadillacs, 3 bedroom homes, Spot the dog, Freckles the cat, and the New York Yankees. While those things still exist today they don't hold nearly the prestiege that they used to. Owning a home used to be considered "Making it" in my beloved country. Now making it is relegated down to being able to eat dinner at night. In case you've been hiding under a cave for the last 5 years allow me to elaborate what's been going on.
5 years ago we started a war with a soverign country who did nothing to us. Sounds like Vietnam, right? It pretty much is. The President justified his actions by explaining to us that Iraq was harboring a terrorist group known as Al Qaeda, the same group who claimed responsibility for the 9/11 Attacks on New York City.
Americans didn't pay much attention to the debate that went on in the Senate as to whether or not we should attack Iraq. A few men stood up and voiced their oposition to the war, but more on that later. As it should happen we've been involved with Iraq for the last half of a decade and as a result over 4,000 of our brave men and women won't return home. We invaded a country that had nothing to do with our plight and what did we get for the return on our investment? 4000 families wrecked, our economy in the toilet, and the rest of the world thinks we're a bunch of anarchist hethans who hold no regard for the rule of law.
Iraq so happens to have an abundant natural resource that the rest of the world has come to rely so heavily upon: Precious, Precious, Light Sweet Crude Oil. Literaly the fuel for America. We go through 21,000,000 barrels per day of the stuff. If we went through 21,000,000 gallons of, well, anything else, that would be considered an epidemic. Before invading Iraq the price of a barrel of oil (bbl) was $36. 36 bucks gets you 42 litres of the stuff, just enough to fill up my tank. Currently the bbl price is $103.54 (1:18 pm today, www.bloomberg.com/energy) Thats almost a 300% increase in price folks. Not a 225% increase thats rounded up, ALMOST 300%. What gives?
I'll tell you what gives. After asking many questions and doing my own investigating I've determined that a long time ago, someone said that you don't actually have to do anything with the oil futures you buy, you're allowed to buy and sell them sight unseen. What does that translate to? Allow me to break it down for you.
Say I've got 50 grand sitting around. First off, I wouldn't be writing this blog. You guys wouldn't hear a peep from me because i'd be laughing at the cash I'd save later with my solar panels. In any case, say I've got 50 grand sitting in an account that I could invest with. I'm allowed to buy and sell oil, just like stocks on the stock market, without having to actually accept delivery of the oil. This means that oil's price can (And has been for the last year) artificially inflated, then turned around and sold at a higher price. And you don't even know what color the fucking barrel is.
Corruption on the corporate level has resulted in the artificial inflation of the price of a commodity Hundreds of Millions of Americans use every day. The long and short of it is this: Some people are wrecking the American Economy to make a few million bucks of their own. Hedge Funds and Futures Holders are selling out America so that they can artificially inflate the price for oil. As the Cost/bbl of oil goes up, so does the price of gasoline. Thats why we're paying $3.25 a gallon for gas folks, Some asshole in New York wants to make his millions and dosen't give a flying fuck about you or me. The Transportation industry has been feeling the effects of this artificial price hike for over a year and a half. We've been struggling to, forgive the pun, truck along and just get on with our daily jobs, in hopes that the price would regulate itself and settle at a level which is affordable for everyone. Then again, we're generally good people and are naive for believing that there are still good people in the world left in charge. What could change all this? Electing a common sense president. Please note that I said *could*, as my cynicism has even now turned on the political process itself: that sure-fire thing that we've had for as long as the country has been founded. We have a man running named Barack Obama who in 2002, when initial debate began for the Iraq War, stood up and said that this war isn't justified. These people are soverign and have done nothing to us. Naturally, no one listened because we were so angry from the black eye we receieved on 9/11.
I've followed this entire political season, from start to current, in great detai. Let me say that last night (March 4th), broke my heart and broke my trust in America. This country is doomed because the same set of people, who want to keep doing the same things that they've been doing, is going to wind up with control of this country. Far be it from me to question the Clinton name in politics, lord knows last time we had a president that shared that name we had a great 8 years. This is different though. We have a common sense candidate who shares the same view and hopes for America that many of its citizens did at one time, before they were jaded by the last 8 years we've had.
Barack Obama wants to rid Washington of all the lobbyists. The same type of lobbyist who for the mortgage industry last year, spent $180,000,000 trying to get senators and congressman to pass legislation that favors them. The result? Adjustable Rate Mortgages and the current housing crisis. Oil lobbyists (combined with "The Big 3" motor manufacturing companies) spend obscene ammounts of money trying to keep the emissions and miles-per-gallon regulations as low as they can. Its much easier to market a Dodge Charger than it is a Toyota Prius to the 18-24 crowd (The adults who have the most discressionary income to spend).
Yet last night Barack Obama was the victim of the game that is politics. He fell to the mighty Clinton campaign in some crucial states when he could have mathematicaly eliminated his competitor, thus sealing the nomination. The Old Guard in Washington fears Barack. Things have been far too cushy in Washington for quite some time. They're doing everything they can to make sure that another candidate who's spent plenty of time in the presense of those who're corrupted beyond saving, gets the nod and dosen't threaten the norm in Washington.
So there you have it America. You used to be great. You used to be what the world strived for, what we were all proud to be a part of. Then you became too complaciant. You know who else was complaciant? The Colonial settlers who first got here. They were fat dumb and happy too. We have essentialy done a complete 180 degree reversal. We're heading *back* towards monarchies and certain families being "entitled" to the presidency, and no one feels the need to change anything.
A simily for the situation we're in currently is this: Place a frog in a pot of cold water and the frog won't move. It'll chill out because its not threatened. Place the same frog in a pot of boiling water and it knows to jump out as fast as it can, because it can't survive that long. However place the frog in the cold pot of water again, then place it on the burner. In 15 minutes you'll have the basis for frog soup, because by the time the frog realizes that the water is too hot and it needs to remove itself, the muscles in its legs are already cooked.
Jump out America, while you still have a chance. Elect Barack Obama and lets get rid of the hedge fund managers who are crashing this economy for their own personal gain, get rid of the status quo in Washington who's become far too complacaint, and get rid of the lobbyists who focus only on whats good for business, not the American people. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Question and Answer time!
Statement: "We're fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them over here." - President George W. Bush
Answer: Know what Mr. President? Don't know if you passed geography or not, but there just so happens to be a 5,000 mile ocean between "Us" and "Them". If we see an army of a bunch of Al Qaeda members swimming across the Atlantic, guns in tow, BLOW THEM THE FUCK OUT OF THE WATER.
Question: "What about the terrorists who try to hijack planes, trains, and automobiles?"
Answer: You do realize we have a National Guard for a reason. Pull them out of Iraq, post them on the borders and at the airports, major highway checkpoints, and PROFILE. Fuck insensitivity, We were attacked! 3000 lost their lives in 9/11, almost 4000 have lost their lives fighting a bullshit war! Its time that we start addressing the problem we really face. Why were 3000 lives lost in the World Trade Centers? Because we were too lax in our national security.
Question: "Should the president be impeached? What should he be brought up on charges of?"
Answer: Yes. He should be impeached and brought up on charges of Treason, and charged with crimes in association with Terrorism. Any leader who instills fear in his people by saying things like "We're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them over here", implying that we would be attacked again, or, INSTILLING TERROR AND FEAR INTO THE LIVES OF EVERY DAY PEOPLE, LIKE THE FUCKING AL QAEDA ARE DOING NOW, should be charged with crimes associated with Terrorism.
Wake up people.
