Hello Friends!

Much has been happening here in Music City, US over the past few weeks. For one, the weather has been trying to OWN us (it was 80 degrees 2 days ago & snowing this morning!)
More interesting than a lying ground hog, Jimmy has been hammerin' out some fresh tunes & and we hear with spring comes big news for Barret & Fans --Hint?--Jimmy and the band might be coming to a city and a radio station near you!!!
Like that moment in a horror film just before you know something crazy is about to happen, we'll have to keep you in suspense for right now - we promise a friendly surprise (like a surprise birthday party!)
Keep it Country Y'all -

Give Credit where Credit is Due. We owe a HUGE Credit to everyone who came out to support Jimmy Barret Tuesday Night! THANK YOU!

Lights flashed and the band rocked. Jimmy performed a brand new tune entitled "Believe" to a full house - standing room only. The show opened with the guitar-driven rock/country tune "Somethin' Good" & continued on an adrenaline high for the next 20 minutes. If you've never seen Jimmy perform live, you're missing out. Barret performances are by far the most high energy, exciting shows you can see outside a stadium. Later, the crooner mixed it up by throwing in a soothing acoustic tune - "Appalachian Love." With nothing but dobro, fiddle, and some well-placed harmony, Jimmy's mellow country vocals resonated with the audience leaving everyone in quiet appreciation. The later half of the show was made to match the first. The livley, fun-loving "Cheap Chicken in Barcelona" is always a crowd favotie while the power-ballad "Someone" moved all listeners to the edge of their seats & some close to tears. Jimmy's biographical song "Crossroads" & trademark "C Ya Soon" closed out the night leaving all wanting more Barret.

And...

Opportunity is knocking it seems as the show was also attended by a who's who of Nashville Music Industry Moguls. We'll be sure to let you in on all the latest Jimmy Barret Happenings and can't thank you enough for being such a big part of Jimmy's music-makin' career.

**They are playing "New Love" & "Single Standard Time" on Nashville's country radio fm station WKDF!!!! **And for live shows--Jimmy took the stage last tuesday night at 12th & Porter during the Billy Block Show. The set was a great one, with support from a stellar band--Jimmy performed many well-loved favorites, threw in some new yet-to-be-recorded new ones, & brought back a few covers not heard for quite sometime. A cheering crowd really got the band going and we thank everyone who came out to show their support in the icey cold weather. We also send "kudos" to 12th & Porter whose new sound system, hip vibe, and stage lighting will definiately bring us back.
Missed Jimmy this time around? No worries! Jimmy will be in Nashville again next month - watch for details.

Current mood:  vibrant

Amidst chaos & cheer, Jimmy Barret took the stage at Manuel's annual Cinco de Mayo/Birthday Bash Saturday night. The crowd welcomed him with a loud cheer as drunken strangers roamed the vast property. A band of Nashville's Most Talented (including; Dave Roe, Jerry Roe, Nathan Spears, Ann & Regina McCrary, Charles Butler, and Ollie O'Shea) kept the music bumpin' as Jimmy belted out some of his most beloved covers and inspired orginal music. Rosie Flores even took the stage to accompany Jimmy on "Alone Again Or."

Meanwhile back at the ranch...party-goers carried on merrily drinking themselves into oblivion. Not surprisingly, this led to a couple misshaps - including 2 drunken hombres being thrown from a tired horse. Both survived with a couple good bruises (and by bruises I mean, maybe a broken leg or minor concussion), and stories to tell.

All the while the band played on as others danced into dawn. It was a show to remember & a party never to be missed.

Until next year - !Buenos Amigos! Manuel!

Tus Amigos,

The Jimmy Barret Band & Crew
