Day 2 of 5 by
Sam ;) Castro
All month I’ve been watching the
travel channel and traveling the world with Anthony Bourdain watching
him eat all kinds of interesting foods and I decided that to experience
the no reservations program to the fullest I had to incorporate an additional
sense (taste) and I would create the same dishes that Tony was eating.
Today I had nothing to do other than get ready for tonight’s show
in OC at the Coach House so I would dedicate the entire day to making
a great big no reservations dinner here in the comfort of my own home.
Today tony visited Thailand and I thought damn that might be kind of
hard but I went on google and got a recipe for pad thai and went
to the local oriental cuisine supermarket and several hours later we
were burning up and our mouths with spices noodles and goodness. Off
we went to the OC just the four of us Ismael, Dan, myself and of course
ipod or Ivan. The weather was amazing a beautiful sunset on the 5 set
behind the two power plant things that look like two boobies. We had
a few laughs on the way there while we listened to Miley Cyrus new hit
single party in the USA which is a perfect song to listen to if you
wanna get pumped and party even if you’re not in the USA but it’s
better if you are. We got there and received the royal treatment, I
wish we would have taken more people with us. We got a sweet room with
a tv, fridge and couches and drinks in the fridge. The place was a sweet
theatre and the sound was great. We met cool people and had a great
set and a good time. Day two has been even better than the first I believe
it’s a foreshadowing of tomorrows show. I have a feeling tony
and I will be eating a sweet dinner tomorrow night, can’t wait to
see what it is.

We're playing four shows in a row this week and we decided to blog about each one! Blog fun!
Wednesday night we had our first show downtown San Diego at The Bitter End. Downtown shows are always interesting, way different vibe than other kinds of San Diego shows for sure. The place we played was a club type of bar upstairs and a rock venue downstairs which was cool--I felt like we were at a club out of that Roger Rabbit movie... what was that movie called? Well, in any case, that movie was sweet and that cartoon girl was hot!
We got the show from our new friend Catherine Beeks who is the new local radio station host at 102.1FM! Hopefully she keeps playing our music. Every Saturday night at 9pm!
Right before we played, another episode of the UFC show was on and Kimbo Slice was about to fight some fat fool so I tried to stall getting on stage to watch the fight and it worked! The guys were all on stage waiting for me as a watched Kimbo get squashed by the fat dumb ass. I wish Kimbo would have won; oh well.
We played a great set in front of like two million people and got paid like 3 million dollars. After the show we stopped by The Silent Comedy show that was going down about a block away.
Fun times!

Had a great show in Hollywood last night with Music For Animals and Transfer at 3 Clubs--really cool little place we'll probably play more often.
Next show is at Soma on September 25th which happens to be Sam's 23 birthday so come on out and celebrate with him... unfortunately I think he wants to go to Tijuana after the show to keep the party going--I hope I'm not dragged to come along!
The Killers tonight in San Diego!

It's not easy being cheesy that's for sure. You try it. Maybe we should be doctors instead.
