Current mood:tripping on mother fucking angel dust
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
i recently played Berlin and had an amazing time untill the dreaded moment of weakness in Panorama Bar with no sleep.
i warn anyone who plans to party in Berlin over the next few months to avoid, no matter how desperate, any pills from strangers unless you want to feel like mother fuckin' angel dust for 24 hours! if it's big and blue, don't use - you might die!
im just glad im still alive!

Caravan Records second release has made it onto Steve Bug's 'Bugnology 3' on Pokerflat Recordings. 'Invitation' by label boss October; is featured as the last track, on what is considered to be, the best bugnology yet! You can even buy it in Tesco's! heh

Normal 0 ELECTRONIC EXPLORATIONS - "I'm really looking forward to Caravan, Scuba played it out on his mix on the show the other week !!" - Opened podcast 31 with 'Houston' RESIDENT ADVISOR - " Really been enjoying his rather sideways view of the dancefloor so far, so hopefully we can make something happen with these new ones." INHALE - "Great EP. Will defo be giving this a review. Perfect stuff for my site" DROWNED IN SOUND - "October's good stuff." TILL VON SEIN - "i already wrote jules a mail couple of weeks ago… i really like this release, so much work in this shit..amazing!" PHILIP SHERBURNE - "this is absolutely fantastic. not that i'm surprised-- october has already shown that he has a distinctive sound and approach, and he really delivers with this one. the agnes/ripperton mix is genius as well!" PATRICE BAUMEL - "Listen, Move, Dance" is one of my favourite tracks of the year by one of my current favourite producers - sophisticated, interesting, great sound design. The track really explodes around the halfway mark! Heads and shoulders above your average techno track! Heavy rotation! MARK HENNING - "hey thanks for this :) love cvan004 - both tracks - very cool stuff - refreshing sounds :) and Listen, Move, Dance is really nice too.. great production. good work! TODD BURNS (RESIDENT ADVISOR) - "really digging raw. will try to get a review going!" QUARION - "Hey Oli. I received the tracks a few weeks ago from Jules (October) directly. Amazing stuff! Here's a proper feedback: Raw EP: October is an amazing producer and "Raw" is another mindblowing track! The "Ripperton & Agnès" RMX has that extra deepness that I love!" Houston EP: How more sick can you get? "Houston" is just out of this world! We DO have a problem if this producer doesn't get more recognition ! ;-) "Listen, Move, Dance" is also excellent! looking forward to the next ones! TIM GREEN - "As Jules knows, Houston is my favourite October song to date. Loved it ever since I first heard it! Played it at the weekend and worked a treat! Cheers mate ;)" SCUBA - "Really like 005, wicked stuff. Less keen on 004 but still feeling them." MARC LANSLEY - "You are a funny man. I like that. 'Cos there are not many of us left... And yes, indeed, you haven't heard of me yet. That's because I'm still underway finishing the reviews for the September issue of Raveline (that German Dance magazine I'm writing for). Of course both EPs are part of that package. I haven't written the reviews yet, but it's gonna be a good score (also because October is such a great project done by a very nice guy that needs every support, even by such an irrelevant little fuck not living in Berlin like I am...). I'm sending you the (German) reviews in a couple of hours, together with some short note in English (as DJ-Feedback). Is that ok with you?" MARTYN - "yeah I've been playing the caravan stuff out already.. its wicked!! was talking to pinch about it recently so I guess he got the feedback and I didn't mail you anymore sorry!!" JEFF SAMUEL - "tracks didn't work for me. thanks anyway…" APPLEBLIM - "mate, I love em. I told julian! PATRICE BAUMEL - "Raw EP: Deep. Deeper. October. This one slowly winds its way through central nervous system. Gets better with every listen. The Ripperton & Agnes Rmx works in the same territory but adds a surprising deep house edge to the original. Keepers! Houston: "Listen, Move, Dance" is hands down one of my favourite tracks of the year. Once that acid element kicks in around the halfway mark, the track just explodes in a dark, elegant way. "Houston" could easily function as a film noir soundtrack, full of dark twists. 5/5 stars. i've been playing listen, move, dance a lot, can't say enough good things about....there is an emerging group of producers that i see taking over: glimpse, holger zilske, anders ilar and october, too. expecting much more goodness in the future..." MARK LANSEY - "I gave both records 6 points out of 6. The review is not as tongue-in- cheek as my others, but it didn't seem to fit the music. And here's my reaction as a DJ:"Pure Genius, merging foggy Funk with serious sound design. Takes the 'J' out of Jazz. Great moments of musical intimacy. I'm a fan for lifetime." BRIAN FFAR - "CVAN004 - This is a very cool release. I like how dark and moody it is without being minimally cliche. It has a very authentic, artistic feel to it which I can really appreciate. The original is cool, but I prefer the remix for DJing purposes. CVAN005 - I think my head just turned inside out - where am I? Houston is TWISTED - I'm a big fan! My favorite of the two tracks." ALEX (CONNAISSEUR RECORDINGS) - "after his amazing "say again" release on perspective, julian again demonstrates his talent for weird grooves and spaced out soundscapes. both original and remix of "raw" are great groovers for after hour sessions. "houston" is more for the peaktime and is very close to "say again" by its making. last but not least is "listen, dance, move"...my fav of all four tracks. this is simply amazing. i can guarantee heavy rotation."

Alex Kid F-Comm Really nice EP, interesting music as usual with Caravan...
Jeremy P Caulfield Dumb Unit Dark and nasty .. it will be fun to play ..
Gavin Hardkiss Hardkiss / Hawke Been playing the emptyset material. Good minimal shit!!
Jeff Bennet Plastic City Bad move not to listen to this directly, Endoxa is massive! full support.
Dave Congreve Repeat Repeat this really is a great ep, all the trax are strong, tho' endoxa is my favourite, playing every set. will chart @ 8.
Cass Cutbush Deadset / Front Room - Episteme the one for me here. - Just loving that slightly crunchy/crackly minimal feel. Excellent.
Peter Kruder Kruder & Dorfmeister / K7 / G-Stone / Compost Deep stuff- but one has to careful when to drop it.
Danton Eeprom Fondation / Tsuba / Love Triangle / Infiné / Freak n'Chic Not for me this time. Still love the first caravan release though.
Ed Davenport Liebe*Detail yeah i like this one - nice deep stuff - im into endoxa the most - chuggy and atmospheric with some great sharp percussion!
Quinn Whalley Different Gear doxa ep is cool too, will definitely support
Mark S Krüx Urb (Techno Reviews) Good stuff...dark and stipped down. I see what people are saying with the dubstep comaparisons. Going to see 'em play tomorrow...looking forward to it. Will definitely play a couple of these...and probably review the release.
Justin Barratt Binni (Error) Endoxa for me, a deep techno cut rolling along with nice slow pace & acidy bassline. like it! Episteme has a great low frequency bassline guaranteed to shake the walls, slowly building ..good tool for early doors
Julius . CODEX @ AKA, JADED, VERTIGO / Moveout Magazine (Poland) / Nightlife Magazine (Italy) I like Episteme, i think is very good in after hours. The other 2 tracks are not for me, sorry
Sophie Oliver Retox / Get Out Really like Endoxa wicked rolling bass, and great sample work really well together.
Tim Green TG / 4:20 Epistēmē is lush. Deep, groovy and simple! played this out already-went down great in the wee early hours ;)
Ryan Johnson Cargo mint, love it!!
Hector Romero Really feeling 2 of the tracks here - will give it a run
Terje & Anders Lordag awesome release! full support!
Jo Mills Various this e.p is good but a bit too deep and sinister for me .....
Brian Ffar Siteholder / Tic Tac Toe / Gourmet / Redline Sessions I really like the Caravan imprint a lot, but unfortunately, I'm not feeling this release. Just not for me.
Christopher Milo DJ Three / Hallucination / Crosstown Rebels (The Rebel Agency) very cool stuff. unique, cold, bass heavy electronic techno. 'epesteme' brings hints of UR001 to mind. "endoxa" is the go-to cut..... good for the floor, but not at all derivative. THREE - HALLUCINATION LIMITED - NYC
Emerson DJ Emerson / freak waves / micro.fon / kiddaz.fm great label though its hard for me to play the releases i like this stuff very much
Raymundo Rodriguez Jaded / Wrong loving the drums in Endoxia
Eddie Richards Evil Eddie Richards my fave is Epistēmē
Dave Ellesmere Microfunk / Intacto / 100% Pure / Remote Area another corker from the ever cool caravan stable ... deep techno with a unique edge ...keep em coming boys !!!
Philip Sherburne Earplug / EMusic / Urge / Pitchfork / Slate Here we go! SOLID. "Endoxa" is luscious -- love the heavy analog feel of it. (If it's not actually analog, well, that's ok too.) "Episteme" is nice and dark and groovy, bit more "modern" sounding but still tight. "Doxa" made less impression on me but maybe that'll change over time.
Till Von Sein Morris Audio / Trenton some interesting stuff again on this label.. will give it a closer listen during those calm christmas days...
Laurent Garnier cool atmospheric deep techno tracks will fit in the mix
Davide Squillace Ovum / Sketch / Minisketch this is the one for me . (emptyset) - Doxa - Caravan..deeppy!
Inigo Surio Dj Largo / Beiak Records actually yeah,3 quality tunes! my favorite one is ENDOXA , i have played last weekend in buenos aires and wow!!! cool reaction and people asking for it!! well done!!!
Grzegorz Demianczuk 3 Channels / Crosstown Rebels its ok but at this moment not what i like most :( voitek 3channels
Takaya Ito Kikiorix / Adrift / Ladies & Gentleman cool
Andrew Grant Circo Loco Endoxa is the shizzle 8/10
Bruce Tantum Time Out New York Another nice one that will probably work best for the late-night parties, a little dark but pretty damn funky. I particularly like Doxa, which kind of reminds me of a machine-tooled version of old Murk stuff (back from when they were good).
Neil Quigley Urban Torque / Bedrock Like the Endoxa track, but overall a bit too minimal and avant garde for my sets.
Damon Fonooni Habersham Caravan is stellar. This is yet another outstanding release! Episteme is durty durty pulsing music I LOVE IT!! Played it already this weekend and wrecked em with it... Doxa is my other fave, great bounce and great production on the whole package!
Chris Fortier all 3 tracks good. will be playing loads
Tommy Four Seven Kill Brique / Catwash Records Really into Doxa, like the trippy detail, defo in the bag!
Fra Soler Ferenc / Kompakt / Nitsa Club remarkable record! very subtle quality deep tech. I will definetely play this out!
Dave Mothersole MOS Radio i like the title track on this - the bassy one. doesn't do much but it's cool and sounds good in the mix.
Markus Guentner Kompakt / Ware good release ... i like the fantastic 'caravan-typical' grooves and drum-arrangements. also very cool deep basses. very nice ...
Raphaël Gros Ripperton / Lazy Fat People This is one of the most interesting label around. And this is a BOMB release. Ripperton
James Holden Not for me thanks! - No reason given
Nico De Ceglia Radio 1/Discoid mag/Codex 3 nice tracks!
Jeff Samuel Poker Flat / Trapez i like episteme...really chilled druggy track, not sure when i'll play it but nice tripped out production.
Kollektiv Turmstrasse Connaisseur we like but Enodxa is our one.
Sebastian Roya Conaisseur / Sender / Sounderground nice work, 3 track very nice
Santi Xpansul Xpansul Nice evolving techno. Episteme and Doxa I like.
Mathias Schaffhäuser WARE good release, especially the 1st track. i will play it + review it if a magazine lets me... cheers
Mark Henning Found Sounds / Trapez / Mos Ferry really like Endoxa - slow chuggy druggy track :)
Charles Webster Peacefrog all tracks good but a bit to minimal for me, 'endoxa' best track, but it sounds a little like 'awade'
enneth Broxgaard Patrick Bateman / Tic Tac Toe wow, another killer from Caravan! All 3 tracks are the bomb !!!!!!!
Renato Figoli Trapez / Traum Excellent tunes! My favourite track is Doxa! Great work.
Sean Palm Railyard really diggin' these trax. nice and deep. right up my alley. keep em' comin'!!!!!
Danny Wooton Dan J another quality release for the darker dancefloors. will support !!!
Sebbo (DJ) Liebe*Detail Nice one will play
Shlomi Aber Ovum Nice ep , ill try to see what I can fit in Tnx for sending

Jennifer Cardini - Crosstown Rebels Playing this a lot Axel Bartsch - Sportclub nice track for special moments. perfect for monday noon at bar 25 berlin. Alex - Kid F-Comm Great EP... i could play any of the tracks. Again a very very nice EP , very Elegant! Clive Henry - Peace Division / Circo Loco / NRK Really liking one of the trax off the Invitation EP-Listen-Move-Dance.Pretty cool and different.. Andrew Grant - Circo Loco Tape is awesome- nice lil wirey bass in the end 8/10 LMD- perfect mood changer!! 8/10 Invitation- I dont know what genre that is but its SICK 9/10 Kollektiv Turmstrasse - Connaisseur listen, move and Dance is cool we like that...
Fredo Pitch - Pitch & Hold / Love Triangle Music I we were to move to a city where techno is a common thing, we would surely be able to use these tracks, especially Invitation. but as it is... not for us. Renato Figoli - Trapez / Traum i like that tunes, so thanks so much! Anthony Middleton - Audiofly / Sleeperthief / Loose Lips yes...this guy is on fire....after three drops io couldnt wait to check his next work and we weren't disappointed....especially loving "listen, move, dance"....a little jewel....
Tom Mangan - Deadset / Frontroom some great production here, liking all three Jamie Odell - Jimpster / Freerange / The Bays Liking the sound of this one! Invitation is wicked. Spooky and very original sounding. Will stick out a treat in a set. Other 2 tracks very playable too. Quality stuff. Mike Monday - Playtime / www.pushfm.com / 107.7 fm (North London) listen move dance is wicked! luvverly deep funk. Brian Ffar - Siteholder / Tic Tac Toe / Gourmet / Redline Sessions Listen, Move Dance is my favorite of the three. Some really nice, deep afterhourse material. Will support this one, thanks! Andre Crom - Heimatmelodie / Leftroom / Sender / Liebe*Detail great ep once again on this cool label, three cuts of timeless and deep techhouse... my favourite is listen move and dance, will definitely get played at a lot of earlier or later nights. looking forward t the next ep's! Eddie Richards - Evil Eddie Richards listen move dance is my pick, i could use this at an afterhours..
Francis Harris Adultnapper Cool release. Not exactly what I am playing but definitely quality. thanks! James Holden great release, invitation i'll play, 'tape' has a perfect groove but gets a bit much for me later on. Sebbo (DJ) Liebe*Detail Cool moody tracks but not for my case Damon Fonooni Habersham This release from Caravan is even better than the first! I love to see well done slowed down twisted grooves---there should be more like this! My pick is Listen Move Dance----what a sick tune Oliver Klein Mutekki / MBF good production. but it dosn't fit in my set. Andy D MOS Radio Not really feelin this, will give track 3 some radio airplay though Alex Jones Hypercolour / Turbo / Viva listen, move, dance is the best here Chris Fortier all traks cool. but "tape" being my fav Danton Eeprom Fondation / Tsuba / Love Triangle / Infiné / Freak n'Chic Invitation ismy fave here, really good track, I like the stripped down arrangements. Will try it out for sure. Sebastian Roya Conaisseur / Sender / Sounderground Nice work!! this it is my favorite one, althogh all sound very well (October - Listen, Move,Dance) Cass Cutbush - Deadset / Front Room - Lovin the weirdy beardy sounds on Listen, Move, Dance. Cool. Nico De Ceglia Radio 1/Discoid mag/Codex 3 nice tracks here. I'll play them all. Alessandro Russo Slok (Saw / Get Physical) I like Invitation

Markus Guentner Kompakt / Ware again a great release from october ... i really love his beatstructures ... hope to hear something more from him in the future
Jeff Samuel Poker Flat / Trapez really interesting record. i love Listen, Move, Dance. will be a great end of set record or encore...and i really like Invitation until the halfway mark when the vocal comes in. any chance at all they have an instrumental/dub version? or else i could make an edit for myself if they supplied the WAV. Kiki . B-Pitch very interesting release! i would love an whole album of this stuff for homelistening and it also could be nicely twisted for some afterhours... yeah, like it very much. Davide Squillace Ovum / Sketch / Minisketch Invitation - Caravan is beautifull...if u paly it at the right time u ll blow people away...
Emerson DJ Emerson / freak waves / micro.fon / kiddaz.fm tape is a great tune - love it _ support again! Kenneth Broxgaard Patrick Bateman / Tic Tac Toe Great release !! Tape is my fave. Play and charting! Raphaël Gros Ripperton / Lazy Fat People I'm impressed and inspired by the work of October. These 3 cuts are fantastic! I want more release like that in my bag! Full full full support!
heinrichs & hirtenfellner lordag records / highgrade / subdub quality techno.....thats it Dave Martin Technique / Immigrant Very cool ep, love it. Kind of mixed up and almost uncomfortable but works in a very wuirky way. i will play all of the tracks from this ep. Full support Bruce Tantum Time Out New York Another nice one! All three tracks are kind of a minimalist take on the kind of thing Booka Shade is doing over at Get Physical. "Invitation" is my fave of the three, at least at first listen.
Tim Green TG / Dirtybird / Infant / Caravan Ive had invitation as well as listen, move, dance for a long time now! and everytime they are great great tunes-working the floor ;) Invitation is a classic!!
Terje & Anders Lordag "October - Listen, Move, Dance" - great starter track, this one is growing much. Rest of the EP doesnt give us much. thank you! T & A Yannick Labbé Trickski / Innervisions nice invitation this one is... cool cuts from the man of the month!
Alland Byallo Liebe Detail, Floppy Funk, Dirtybird, [KONTRO Interesting stuff. I like "Listen, Move, Dance" and "Tape." Slightly trancey, but in a good way. Sean Palm Railyard diggin' these bits. will play. thanx.
Jeff Bennet Plastic City "Listen Move Dance" & Tape are both real good minimal journey's, full support! Laurent Garnier very nice ep will play everywhere
Ryan Johnson Cargo love this mint release, will be playing it alot!!!
Alistair Wells Perc / Kompakt / Perc Trax Inventive, well produced tracks that I love listening to at home. Sadly not something I would play out though. I need little bit more bite and agression in my tunes. Really want to hear more from the label though as there is more thought and attention to detail in these tunes than a million turgid 'leccy house' promos. Ali. Philip Sherburne Wire / Earplug / EMusic / Urge / Pitchfork / Slate Intriguing stuff, could you send me more info on these folks? I like the lo-fi quality of the synths and the spaciousness of the arrangements -- almost like a "minimal synth" version of Troy Pierce or something. Spooky! Very nice, slinky rhythm programming on "Listen, Move, Dance." And "Tape," with those big, bending synths, is kinda heartbreaking! I'm just beginning to listen to this but I foresee it continuing to grow on me. Nice work. So refreshing to hear something that doesn't sound like everything else. Daniel Faulwasser Dan Drastic / Moon Harbour i like the grooves. cool stuff, will definitly play this.
Graham Goodwin Sian / Pokerflat / Karmarouge hey, ncie ep again from caravan!
Till Von Sein Morris Audio / Trenton soooo the 2 nd track is really good! and the third is a nice trip as well... the only one i dont like that much is the 1st one... but i think they re growers...will listen to them on my i pod while traveliing;) talk soon..
Danny Wooton Dan J blindingly deep ep!!!! loving tape and listen move dance. 2 big releases so far on this label. 9 outta 10 cheers
Tommy Four Seven Kill Brique / Catwash Records Tape is kickin' !! Supporting Dean Muhsin Bearweasel (supernature recordings) / Codex superb Santi Xpansul Xpansul Nice suggestive release. Specially into Listen, Move, Dance. Perfect for the beggining of my sets.
Dave Ellesmere Microfunk / Intacto / 100% Pure / Remote Area this is a superb ep ...love all the tracks .... :) will play it out and maybe chart it ... dont come knocking when the caravan is rocking !!!!
Mazi Namvar Various Interesting sounding deepness. Stuff I would listen to at home, not play in the club. I gotta say wish that 'jack' vocal snippet wasn't in the Tape track; detracts from the groove. Fra Soler Ferenc / Kompakt / Nitsa Club very interesting 12" with really beautiful sounds on it. Top quality

Markus Guentner Kompakt / Ware october is a cool and deep minimal ep ... 'homosapiens' is perfect for my sets !!!
Dave Ellesmere Microfunk / Intacto / 100% Pure / Remote Area october - three drops: this is very nice indeed. really tension building build up and when the kick drops in with the sliding bassline we're away. A really good first impression ... like it alot !!
Andre Crom Heimatmelodie / Leftroom / Sender / Liebe*Detail wow! really digging this one. homo sapiens is my favourite: great oldschool vibe, deep and highly danceable at the same time, epic arrangement... really cool, i would wonder if this wouldn't get a big hit... - the best promo i got from dispersion yet!
