I have been listening to all my faves lately....
I'd like to keep an ongoing list of them... what are yours? What is the album (or albums) that you have worn into the ground?? The one(s) that are super nostalgic and you keep coming back to, no matter what??
Hmmmm, let me see....
Temple of the Dog
311 Music, 311 Grassroots
Pearl Jam TEN
Stone Temple Pilots CORE
Sarah Vaughn The Essentials
Jamiroquai- Traveling Without Moving, Emergency On Planet Earth
Sade Love Deluxe
Erykah Badu Baduizm
Chris Isaac Silverstone
Dido No Angel
Damien Jr Gong Welcome To Jamrock
Leona NAESS- Comatised, I Tried to Rock you but you'd only Roll
KT Tunstall Drastic Fantastic
John Butler Grand National
That's all I can think of now...I can think of songs on each of these that stir my blood, have brought tears to my eyes, and that I've totally jammed out to-some STILL make me sing my brains out....I'm sure I'll be adding more as I remember and even come across new albums I'll wear out....

YEP...it's true.
I am almost finished with my debut solo album.
For all my devoted PATIENT fans- Thank you.
I had most of it finished up until I formed my new back up band in February, and of course once we added the new energy and dynamic to the music, I HAD to re-record everything. I am so excited that we are about 95% finished with recording and you who are waiting will be able to finally hold it in your hands and put it in your iPods. Of course there's mixing and final preproduction stuffs, but it will be released in the next few months and just in time for me to start a tempest in 09'....
Oh you patient people! I promise you won't be disappointed! I am so eager to share it with you, and I it will be my pleasure.
SO word to yo Mamas!
Check back for details, and if you ain't on the email list yet, go www.nanyana.com and sign up so I can keep you updated.

Who of you out there are bookworms? Well, let me rephrase....Of all you bookworms, who reads fantasy?
I am a fantasy buff....I LOVE the escape. To me, it is much more fun...
I want to tell you about an amazingly talented author named George RR Martin and his infamous series "Song of Ice and Fire"....
This series is full of suspense, treachery, murder, war and fear.....but also glimers of hope and faith and love.... can’t believe I’m reading about such things-the war is an ugly one, and it’s sad sad, scary times for this setting- but I can’t put it down! It’s is the type of book for those of you out there ready for real MEAT when it comes to fantasy...NOT for the faint at heart.
What fantasy books do you recommend? And what do you think of the SoIaF series......

I found her months ago and just hadn’t gotten around to getting her cd - ’This is somehwere’ till last week...
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
Fantastic. My new favorite female rocker...don’t know if I Ever had a favorite female rocker-are there any out there? Well, I mean besides me, ...I suppose it’s preference and realitive......but she is a superb songwriter, plays guitar and piano/hammonB3, distinct voice..it’s a very cool rock sound bringing a sort of grassroots, classic rockness....LOVE it. Her band is great too, and they have tons of touring under their belts so they have a dynamic stage performance.........right behind ya Grace!

Yes, I have been rehearsing with a new full band...it is glorious to hear my tunes, which I've been playing acousticaly with one other guitarist for years now, to hear them with the energy and power of a full band....top it off-I have a marvelous groovin' percussionist and the songs are totally metamorphosizing (sp?) to something even more amazing....I am thoroughly enjoying the anticipatory vibes and can't wait to share the new pieces wit choo!
I'll be releasing a disc soon....you gonna like it!

Lo and behold! I am finally getting some recording done. We only have a few final touches of 'Outta Words' and we'll be moving right along to the next song......for those of you who don't know, I have forever been recording this new album, which is my solo album since Nanyana(the band), and I am happy to say I have made some progress. One down, and only a few more to go! Woo hoo! A lot of you have been asking me for a cd, and I just want you to know that I am going to try my hardest to get it out very soon. I am going to limit my gigs so I can have time to record. Hope you don't mind. ^__^ And, I am so glad that you have been thirsty for the new cd, and I promise you won't be let down! I'm fired up! I guess you can't rush a good thing, huh?

Current mood: sick
If you live in Ga. you know that we haven't had any rain in awhile.
I have been sick as a dog for about a week from all the pollution. The smoke that blew up from the wild fires in Florida and south Georgia smogged up our city and left some of us with respiratory issues.....like me.
I'm so sorry for the shows I've had to cancel! I will make it up to you who missed it, I promise!
So this year when the hurricanes come, I feel the need to go riding in the rain!
