a few corrections:
The tour was 7YRC and Warbler, not KIT.
George was not driving the van, Rob was.
"Christine" is supposed to be Christina Carter.

Current mood:  tired

Review from Aquarius (pretty good, except our drummer is called "Chest". I like it)

A Bay Area super group of sorts featuring Rob Fisk (ex-Deerhoof, Badgerlore), Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), Kelly Goodefisk (ex-Deerhoof), Chest Smith (superstar drummer, he's played with Tom Waits, John Zorn, Mr. Bungle, Nels Cline, Fred Frith, etc.) and George Chen (k.i.t., man about town). Ok now that we've got that out of the way on to the music. This is lovely and dark folk rock. You can for sure hear the remnants of the Deerhoof past that some of the members share, and a collective art-punk past that recalls moments of Saccharine Trust / the weirder side of SST, all delivered in a much more dusky, dusty woods kind of way. With one foot planted in improv free rock and another in darkwoods folk, 7 Year Rabbit Cycle hold tight to their punk roots with one hand while their other runs it fingers through dirt, leaves and soil.

And we are in the new issue of Dream...(I guess, I haven't seen it yet.)

thanks to all who made it out to the bottom of the hill on tuesday night. It was a little stressful: Rob got really sick that afternoon and had to cancel. There was definite trepidation about playing without him, but it was really hard to organize everyone together and we played some new songs that we had never played live before. Thanks to everyone for being supportive. Hopefully we will be able to do some more shows this summer.

this is sort of old news but free porcupine society's website hasn't been updated in a while, so it seems faster to use this forum.

the vinyl version of wind machines has been out for a few months. fps is being carried exclusively by revolver now, so it should be available at your better record stores, but the mailorder link is below, and there are short mp3 clips if you haven't heard it.

so miya and ches are living in la. they are doing well, ches is playing in night porter and good for cows as usual, and has started playing with marc ribot in new york. miya is in grad school and still playing in modern reveries when time permits.

rob just put out a new badgerlore record! it is super epic and amazing. the cd is on fps and the vinyl is on the ever-lovin' yik yak. badgerlore is rob with ben chasny, tom carter, pete swanson and now (for more flavor) glenn donaldson. all good dudes.

jamie just got back from an epic us tour with xiu xiu and yellow swans. new jams are great.

george is now playing drums in vholtz, and doing whatever other band-for-a-day presents itself. kit just put out a new split 7" with rose for bohdan on hug life/hello asshole.

we finished tracking and most of the overdubs for the new album we recorded at new improved. plans soon to mix the thing with john dietrich and release sometime in early 2006. hopefully there will be some record release shows to look forward to.
