Monday February 11, 2008

7:30 PM

Imago Theatre Ballroom

17 SE 8th Ave

www.imagotheatre.com

cityscope will be hosting the second Pecha Kucha Night in Portland, OR on Monday February 11th at The Imago Theatre Ballroom, located at 17 SE 8th Avenue.

Doors will open at 6:45, and the event begins at 7:30 pm. Entry is free and open to the public with a suggested sliding scale donation at the door.

Pecha Kucha, (which is Japanese for 'the sound of conversation'), was devised by Tokyo based architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham and has spread to other cities throughout the world, including Berlin, Glasgow, LA, Prague and New York, to name but a few. It is a cross-disciplinary event that creates a forum for designers, architects and artists to meet, network, and to show and discuss their work in public. Presenters are allowed 20 images, shown for 20 seconds each - giving 6 minutes & 40 seconds per presentation. This allows the audience to experience a diverse group of speakers in a relatively short space of time. After the presentations, the evening will continue with drinks and music, with refreshments provided by Rogue Ales and A to Z Winery.

"A grown-up show-and-tell for those in, or interested in, the "creative industries". - Times of London

"Say what you need to say in six minutes and 40 seconds of exquisitely matched words and images and then sit the hell down.

The result, in the hands of masters of the form, combines business meeting and poetry slam to transform corporate cliché into surprisingly compelling beat-the-clock performance art. " - WIRED Magazine

Another great graduation last night...my feelings are already so on the surface on nights like that that it makes all the other things even more glaring and vivid.

I feel a little raw, I had a wave of pure anger wash over me during intermission at seeing someone at the show who I never , ever want to see again.
Seriously, if you cross me stay away from me.
and anyone else who is out there consider it a warning.
when I am done,
I am done.
and with a few rare, rare exceptions.
I never ever want to see your face again.
you fuck with me.
you are dead to me.
In particualr cases they will never be let in the 3's again....
it's best not to provoke me,I am a slow burn , but if you cross the line-
my line-
I am one of the most vicious people you will ever meet.
