I'm in town DJing at 'Smile' at the Star & Garter on Saturday night (24th). It's their 14th birthday party, and I'm chuffed to be asked, as I used to go there a lot with my friends Chris, Chris and Dave back in the day.

It's not going to be everybody's cup of tea; it's eclectic, beautiful, whimsical pop rather than the more mainstream stuff we play on the radio show (think Belle and Sebastian, Sandie Shaw, the Flaming Lips, The Ronettes), but if you do like that kind of music, it's a great night with a lovely crowd full of misfits and starry eyed dreamers.

I'm not sure how much admission is, but I do know it gets busy, so if you fancy coming down, get there early or you'll have to queue.

I think if you put 'Star and Garter' into the Facebook search box, you'll find a couple of groups devoted to it.

Come down if you like the sound of it, (or know anyone that might) and make sure you come over and say 'hello'.
