Undecorated Veteranz Music To Make You Stagger EP
Made up of Optimas Prime..s DJ / Producer Stagga and emcees 4Dee and Joe Blow this is another 12.. made in Wales, showing the output is finally beginning to pick up. Having not record shopped over the border for too long, I..m not sure what impact these are having on the streets in the rest of the UK, but Wales appears to be seeing a slight resurgence of late.
The title ..Music To Make You Stagga.. points instantly to the production work and for me it clearly takes the limelight. Using some well know samples and some lesser so, Stagga concocts musical backdrops which come proper every time. The rock sample (..How Deep Is Your Loving.. - ??damn my memory??) on ..Getting Dark.. is the concrete standout, with the repetitive riff and party break this makes you wanna move! The emceeing on this project is likely to be the main barrier for people getting into it, as both emcees 4Dee especially, sound proper old school. This works well with the sample based work of Stagga, but it may well sound a bit too dated for some of the Nu Era hat wearing tarts.

If you like your emcees with a hefty pinch of old school flows and some proper break-based production this is ideal. If you..re expecting tales of someone discovering water on the moon, or how many kick-flips they did last week, this will not meet your expectations. Make up your own mind.
