Music SW - Come On Down!

Music SW is a music convention at The Watershed in Bristol on Weds 11th and Thurs 12th Nov. Lots of really useful information and tips for anyone involved in music. Ends with a heavyweight Demo Panel, where you can get immediate feedback on your music.

Thanks to everyone who ventured down last night - we had a ball. Simon Bailey RIP

Sad news this week of the death of Simon Bailey from lymphatic cancer. I didn’t know Simon personally, but he really was one of the unsung heroes of the Bristol music scene. I’ve been reading this week, especially on the Choke forum, how just about every Bristol act of recent years had relied upon Simon to repair their equipment at one time and how he was held in such high esteem.

Simon’s brother Martin had been caring for him 24 hrs a day toward the end and has forgone work to do so. Apart from normal living expenses, he now has a £2,800 funeral bill to pay and not much means of paying it.

Stanton Delaplane attempts the 3 Peaks Challenge

Bristol musician Stanton Delaplane (aka Climbing Simon) is attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge on Friday 4th September to raise money for the South West Cleft Unit at Frenchay Hospital.

Along with his father-in-law Pete and friend Andrew, he'll be attempting to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

I'm sure everyone associated with music in Bristol would like to wish these 3 mad men all the luck in the world. Don't break a leg!
