So, I got together with my good friend Nadia Kent to record some new videos yesterday- the first in nearly NINE months. How is this possible?? Pshh I don't know. Who knows where the time goes...

I'm going to upload a new video everyday for the next four days.

The first video is of my Smiths cover I recorded for the TMS <3's MOZ compilation a little earlier this year. See it here, and check back for new videos over the next couple days:

So, while I've been back in Los Angeles for the past week, I've had the opportunity to record with a good friend of mine, Nadia Kent.

Nadia is an amazing songwriter, and it was a lot of fun producing her new song "The Gulch"

One of my favorite blogs, The Music Slut is streaming her new song right now.

Take the link, download the free song, it's absolutely gorgeous.

go to the songs section, and it should let you download them.
I have more stuff up @ thesixtyone.com, but figured this might be easier for some people.

So I posted this earlier, but for some reason it didn't register with myspace or I guess maybe I botched something.

anyways, the awesome cover compilation I'm on came out digitally a few days ago (the physical release should be some time in february) and so far it's been getting some great write ups in Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, and My Old Kentucky Blog to name a few. The record label that put it out, engine room recordings, has been nice enough to stream the entire album online through this nifty player thingy they created.

For anyone who was disappointed when I took my Katy Perry cover down, you can now listen to it here, in its new higher quality remastered form. The rest of the covers are really cool too- my favorites are by My Brightest Diamond, Matt Pond PA, and Jukebox the Ghost.

check em out and please help spread the word!

so, I had some free time today so me and my roommate went to nyu practice rooms with my new flip camera (courtesy of mtv- it almost makes up for all their bad reality tv programming and crap dating shows...almost) and recorded 2 of my new songs, and a live performance of my jazzy ace of base cover.

the new songs are products of this songwriting class i'm taking right now- every week we are a signed a new type of song as a challenge. The two new songs are my "sexy song" and my "literary song"- I chose Beowulf/Grendel as my literary reference heh- yes I am that much of a dork.

anyways i'm really happy with the these songs and I would love it if you'd check em out. There's also a bonus "live action" video that I really hope never finds its way into the hands of NYU administrators.

let me know what you think!!!

much love,

I put some new videos up for You Are, Hypochondriac Blues, and a silly interview type thing.

hypochondriac involves a very special cameo from my very close friend, Wayne.

hope you like it.

so last night I recorded videos of me singing some new songs at my friend's house and just uploaded them to youtube.

For some reason when they got uploaded they got slightly darker, but the sound quality is fine.

Let me know what you think of these new songs-

eventually these vids will be on myspace too, so watch out.

thanks

yeah, I'm that into alliteration...*drool*

I just wanted to share some of the music that I can't stop listening to with the world.
Track down these songs.

Tennessee Ernie Ford- Call of the Wild Goose
Kong Ling- Theme for a Dream
Dusty Springfield- In the Land of Make Believe
Sam Cooke- Sugar Dumpling
Etta James- Tell Mama
AwRy- Drizella
Laura Marling- Cross Your Fingers

guilty pleasure song of the moment: Vedera- Satisfy

also, get the soundtrack for Juliet of the Spirits by Nino Rota. Gus van Sant used some of these songs in the movie Paranoid Park, but the entire score is absolutely genius.
