Ow’z it hangin?
....
Sorry it’s been a while since my last update and blog but I
have been extremely busy working on the new record.
It’s progressing slowly but surely and I want to make sure I
get it right before I upload too many new songs. At the moment, I have over 25
songs to choose from with more still not even demo’d.
Personally speaking, I almost feel like I am losing my mind at the moment. My sometime musical partner in crime on the last mini album (THIS WORLD) Mon, has emigrated to Canada (and who can blame him) so I feel like I am in a bit of a musical goldfish bowl, swimming round and round, blowing the odd bubble, eating dry food and forgetting where I started. Of course my studio is a little bit bigger than a goldfish bowl but I still can’t swing a cat
....
Speaking of tracks, I just uploaded a new track from the
album called ‘All the things I do,’ which was actually inspired by all of the
stories in the news about people being made redundant.
It’s a bittersweet love
song about 'a fictional someone' who works all the time to pay the bills and provide for their family, then loses his/her job
to find his/her significant other has a wandering eye. It’s pretty rocky and
upbeat though. I see it as a positive song about the ups and downs of love. I
would of course LOVE to know what ya think about it. Good, bad or indifferent,
constructive comments are welcomed.....
Greg Morgan plays the drums perfectly in time and phrazing (doesn't he always), the rest of the musical'ness is provided by yours truly. I even bought a nice new Fender Jazz bass for the album (Not only was Mon my musical punch bag, he also engineered, mixed and played bass on THIS WORLD, so I have 'blagged it' as best as I can. Hopefully on some of the tracks, The guitar god that is Pete (sponge bob) Mason will be featured too. HE ROWK'S my SOWK'S!!!
....
I WILL sort a new video blog out shortly, hopefully
something happy and FUN, but for the moment I am putting my energy into the
studio and some kind of a ‘marketing’ plan for what on earth to do with my
music. (New website already started, as always –watch this space)
....
The GOODTIME GIRL
music video is actually done and dusted. I got a copy from the chaps at http://www.cd-inc.co.uk last
week. It looks great (although it’s always weird and quite off putting watching
yourself on high definition playback)....
....
I would LOVE to stick it onto youtube for ya, BUT I am
working hard on the new album and thinking about what I am gonna do with the
new material so I am holding off for now. (Well, ya waited this long, so
another coupla months can’t harm right?)....
....
I only have a few gigs coming up so if ya want to check out
some of the new songs, I suggest ya head over to THE RUBY LOUNGE where I will be Supporting Lucy Wainwright & Ella Edmondson

I do have some kind of a cheap entry list, so pay on
the door and tell them that you’re there to see me for cheaper entry, or it’ll
be FULL PRICE (tsk tsk)....
....
So there it is, my 2 pennies worth of an
update/blog/rabbit or whatever it is.....
