OK FOLKS,ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR,JUST BEFORE WE HEAD INTO A NEW ONE WHEN I START TO LOOK AT HOSTING BANDS MERCH FOR REBELLION IN BLACKPOOL IN 2010.....

STREET VOICE ZINE DEC 08.
PRE RELEASE ALBUM REVIEW.

4PM – Guilty As Charged: If some one had told me that 4PM could still be writing excellent tunes after so many changes I'd have thought they were mad! I didn't think Pete and Co could write another album like 'Trials And Tribulations'. I was wrong! This sixteen track album shows Pete has still got it and I'm glad he's got a band that can deliver the goods but with sincerity too! When people say 'Punk Is Dead' they're wrong and this forthcoming 4PM album will put UK Punk back on the map. There's some cracking tracks on here including the opening number 'Only A Memory'. From there it just gets better with 'Fuck Them All', 'Going Underground', 'Waste Away', 'Solution Is War', 'No Feelings', 'Dead End Street' and 'Gordon'. There's not one filler here and what's more every track is worthy of being on here. This is Punk Rock at it's best. Well written lyrics that are socially aware sung away to some catchy solid Punk Rock tunes. I fucking love this baby!! 9.5/10

PRE RELEASE ALBUM REVIEW.

I'm going to put my hands up and say that a lot of the eighties UK punk bands left me cold. Their moto of fuck the system was tiresome within seconds of them growling it. Even now I find that many of them were/are mired in a myopic and moronic cul-de-sac with little to say.
However there have always been exceptions to the rule and 4 Past Midnight are my exception. I wouldn't let any of their releases pass me by, and anyone who likes aggressive all out sonic attacks that don't bypass melody should also delve into there back catalogue and check them out.
There latest release - Guilty as Charged - is the perfect example of how punk can still relevantly howl in outrage at social injustice. No subject is taboo for these guys. With a keen eye on what's going on locally to internationally they are never short of an opinion. That they can graft their views onto such powerful music without it resorting to the lowest common denominator of the punk ghetto is testament to their talents.
This band never give anything less than 100% and you can hear the attitude bleed from the speakers. Some bands never fade, but simply become more relevant with every year that passes. 4 Pat Midnight are one of those rare bands.
This will be one of the best punk releases of 2009. Essential.
