Support Parole For The MOVE 9: Sign The Online Petition As the April parole hearings for The MOVE 9 draw near, the government (through the media) is stepping up it's campaign to keep MOVE people in prison til they die. There have been a number of news articles and TV news items recently about the upcoming parole hearings. Of course, the only position that is publicized is the position of the cops and prosecuters. Obviously, there position is that MOVE people should never be released from prison. We have to step up our campaign for the release of The MOVE 9. A hard working supporter, named Hans, has set up an online petition for the parole of MOVE people ( www.ipetitions.com/petition/move9parole) and we urge everybody to sign it ASAP so that we can print it out and send it to parole board officials before the hearings in April (it's good to say where you're from-your city, state and country when you sign on. We don't have an exact date yet for the hearings so we don't want to wait too long before sending the signitures in. Also, we encourage those who can to flood the parole board with letters and phone calls so that they know people are watching. Many many people are outraged about the recent parole board decision on my MOVE sisters. Everybody is asking what they can do now to continue their support of MOVE. What people can do is write articles, Op-Ed pieces or letters to the editor in your local newspapers. Make this the national and international issue that is truly is. Don't let it go unnoticed or be swept under the rug. This is the first step toward exposing this conspiracy against my family. People in other countries should translate all communications into their own languages and circulate the information. That is extremely important. Also send us a copy so that we can circulate it to people we know that speak that particular language. I will follow with more updated activities soon but we'll start with this for now. Below are Philadelphia newspapers that people can write to. Write to some in your own local. Thanks for your support---Ramona Philadelphia Daily News 400 N. MOVE WOMEN DENIED PAROLE!!! Today, April 22, 2008, MOVE women that survived the August 8, 1978 police attempt to kill off MOVE were denied parole by the Pennsylvania Department of Probation and Parole. The parole board says that MOVE women were denied parole because they minimized or denied the nature and circumstances of the offense; refused to accept responsibility; lacked remorse and because the prosecutors office said MOVE should not be paroled because we act outside the "law". In fact, it's the parole board that is "acting outside the law" by demanding that any inmate (especially those that have maintained their innocence from the very beginning) say that they are guilty when they are not. MOVE is innocent, we ain't guilty, we ain't gonna say we're guilty and the parole board has no authority to demand that we lie and say we're guilty. That is the height of arrogance when the parole board knows that countless people are convicted in the courts daily, are sent to jail and end up being released after 20, 25, 30 years because they are innocent just like they said they were. Where would any "remorse" come from when you are innocent? Why would anybody take responsibility for a crime that they didn't commit? Where is the wrong in denying something that you did not do. It is obvious that these officials are sending a very clear message to the people. The message is that they're gonna do whatever they want to do and they don't care about the truth , they don't care that they're breaking they very laws that they claim to have MOVE and millions of others in prison for breaking and they don't even care that people know that they're the ones that are breaking the law. Lynn Abraham (the district attorney of Philadelphia that used to be a judge) says that MOVE "acts outside the law" so we should stay in prison? In fact, She acted outside the law when she signed warrants for MOVE in May of 1977 even though the police commissioner said MOVE had committed no crime. Then mayor, Rizzo, "acted outside the law" on August 8, 1978 when he ordered MOVE HQ., vital evidence in a murder trial, the "scene of the crime" destroyed. The courts "acted outside the law" when they proceeded with the trial after destroying the scene of the crime because when they destroyed the evidence they destroyed the bases for any trial. Judge Malmed, the trial judge in the August 8th murder trial "acted outside the law" when he sentenced 9 innocent MOVE people to a maximum 900 years in prison for a crime that he could not say or prove that any 1 of the 9 committed, a crime that he admitted publicly that he didn't have the "faintest idea" who committed. Lynn Abraham "acted outside the law" when she knowingly signed fraudulent warrants for cops to come out and murder innocent MOVE people in May of 1985. The proof of just how fraudulent those warrants were lie in the fact that every single charge listed in those warrants were dismissed as having no basis, every single charge. Is there any question why MOVE people are so bitter, so full of fight and so motivated to keep revolting against this rotten ass system? JOHN AFRICA has opened our eyes and HE keeps us motivated, keeps us full of fight. They can hurt MOVE because we're alive, we have feelings, but thanks to JOHN AFRICA they WILL NEVER STOP MOVE! LONG LIVE JOHN AFRICA! LONG LIVE REVOLUTION!

ONA MOVE, Everybody! This is an update on the MOVE 9 parole situation. Janine, Janet and Debbie were interviewed by Matthew Mangino in person and Judy Viglione watched ..d circuit TV. Janine told us that Mangino questioned her about the issue of innocence and then he didn't want to hear any information about MOVE's innocence. Janet and Debbie got to put out a lot of information about how many people sit in prison for 20, 30 years and have to be released because their innocence is proven so a conviction does not make a person guilty. Viglione asked Janet and Debbie a few questions about what they would be doing if they were released. The decision could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Our brothers see the parole board sometime this month but they don't have a specific date yet. My brother, Michael, was in the U.S. Marines before joining MOVE (he was around 17 years old) and after being around MOVE he decided not to go back to the Marines. He was AWOL (away without official leave). The Military Police came to MOVE Hq. and JOHN AFRICA gave them some serious information-they never came back. Now over 35 years later, when prison officials interviewed Michael to decide if they would recommend him for parole or not, they bring up this issue of Michael going AWOL from the military when he was 17. It's obvious that this government does not want MOVE people on the street again so we have to keep the pressure on them so they have no choice but to release innocent MOVE people. Stay strong and keep sending letters to the parole board, keep the pressure on. Ona Move----Ramona

Along with excerpts of archival footage from the Cohort Media documentary titled "MOVE", this video features a new interview with MOVE member Mike Africa Jr. Born in prison, he is the son of MOVE prisoners Mike Sr. and Debbie Africa, who are both eligible for parole in 2008, after 30 years in prison, along with the six other remaining MOVE prisoners. This video is the first in a series of videos to be released in the weeks leading up to the Parole Hearings in April. Recently I have written an article on THE MOVE 9 and interviewed journalist Linn Washington Jr. about covering MOVE since the 1970s. Also, Ramona Africa recently was interviewed by Uprising Radio. And of course, there is the documentary about MOVE, narrated by Howard Zinn, viewable online at Brightcove or You Tube. MOVE's website is onamove.com This April parole hearing is SO important. Letters and calls to the Parole Board now can really help. The eight remaining prisoners are Janine, Debbie, Janet, Delbert, Mike, Phil, Eddie, and Chuck Africa. It is probably a good idea for folks to send letters to each of the nine Board members. The chairperson was appointed by Ed "1985 Bomber" Rendell so don't count on her getting your message to the whole Board. Their individual names are on this web page: THE PAROLE BOARD MEMBERSLetters can all be sent to this address: [name of Board member], Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, 1101 South Front Street, Suite 5100, Harrisburg, PA 17104-2517, tel: (717) 787-5699 Please send copies of the letters to Phil Africa at: William Phillips Africa AM-4984, SCI-Dallas, 1000 Follies Rd., Dallas, PA 18612 Stay tuned for more information and coverage in the coming months! We want to thank Hans Bennett for beeing active and doing a great job!! This blog is written by him.

..>| Online petition against GBWR | ONA MOVE Everybody! The MOVE organization needs your help. The 2008 Guinness Book Of World Records lists MOVE under "Mass Suicides" based on the May 1985 bombing and MURDER of MOVE people. They also list us with "cults" and lists the source of this misinformation as "The Cult Information Centre". MOVE is not and has never been a cult. MOVE is an organization and certainly did not commit suicide. This is a malevolent and very dangerous lie. It's a deliberate tactic of this system to defame and misrepresent this organization so that when officials wrong us, treat us unjustly and even murder us, a lot of people will accept and dismiss it because of how we have been characterized by this system.
Please forward and spread the word!
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/OnaMove | | | ..> ..>..> ..> | GBWR Update | ONA MOVE Everybody! This is Ramona again. Let me start with contact info for those who didn't get it. Guinness World Records Limited C/O Craig Glenday (editor in chief) 184-192 Drummond Street,3rd Floor London NW1 3HP UK 44 207 891 4567 Cult Information Centre C/O Ian Haworth BCM Cults London WC1N 3XX UK 44 870 777 3800 Guinness World Records 1133 Broadway, Ste. 1520 New York, NY. 10010 212 645-3555 HIT (Henson International Television) Entertainment-North America 230 Park Ave. South, 13th Floor New York, NY. 10003 212 463-9623 lilyb@hitentertainment.com This woman is probably low on the totem pole but if she is flooded with emails, she will make her bosses aware of it. GWR is a division of HIT Entertainment Guinness World Records Attractions-World Headquarters 7576 Kingpointe Parkway, 188 Orlando, Fl. 407 345-8010 407 345-0801 fax (claims they only deal with the GWR museums) Now that we have this contact info, we can start to plan some action. We're thinking of a demo and a press conference at the New York location. We'll try to get a meeting right before the press conference then report on the meeting, if it happens, at the press conference. Many supporters have mentioned a law suit, which would be difficult to do in another country like the UK, but now that we have U.S. addresses, we should be able to do something here in the states. We're looking into it. We would like to have people from all over this country and all over the world respond to this issue, not only by writing letters or calling or emailing but thru some type of direct action. One possibility is demos in front of major bookstores that carry the 2008 GBWR. We don't aim to close up the bookstores or anything, just reach a lot of people by handing out flyers with info about why we're demonstrating. What do people think? An online petition was suggested also, so if anybody knows how to work that and has the time and willingness to take responsibility for that, let me know. I don't have the faintest idea how to set something like that up or how to work it. People can also keep researching offices for the GBWR and/or HIT Entertainment. Well I think that's all for now. As always we appreciate all feedback. Take care and stay strong----Ramona
