Hi one and all!,
I just checked my last note/blog and it was from something like Jan - oops, guess I have been busy.  In fact I have been busy!!

Since we last spoke, or I last blogged, I have been working up the new tracks w Anna Phoebe for 2010 album Vatos Locos (young wildthings) - guitar and violin are almost complete and now whilst Anna is with TSO I am working up some ideas with percussionists/drummers, bass players and other musicians I know!
Either way, we have both vowed to have this album complete in 2010!

I have also just started work on a fresh idea for my live solo gigs next year, and that is to kind of not play them so solo anymore!, I have been working with nightclub percussionist Brothersnare on some new spins of old material and totally new tracks, its a different direction for me (taking on all my love of flamenco and bringing that to a cafe del mar/ibiza chillout arena), but after so many years of being completely solo its a refreshing angle for me, and keeps the music exciting and challenges me in different ways. I really settled on this direction after a residency in Ibiza venue Teatro Pererya with my friend and ace drummer Tom Worrall (of Cuba Libra band).  My travels before that took me out to Puerto Rico in the Caribbean and around the islands, what an amazing and influential place that turned out to be.
So the next few months are kind of behind the scenes for me, filming music videos and working on the new ideas for 2010.  It's going to be a busy and very cool year.  I am going to see new places and play some stunning shows, I hope you join me! and watch this space for updates on all my music news

Hey!

Just last week I have had two fantastic photoshoots for the new website (coming very very soon).

The site is being designed by Matt (of Invincible Recording Studios, Farnborough) - and features a fresh layout for 2009 ahead of the next couple of albums - speaking of which!, I am currently writing the follow up album to Oceano so will have some new tracks to play at live gigs v soon.

The two photo sessions last week where in done in London on the southbank and greenwich respectively, and despite freezing myself silly, both photographers where great with taking my mind off the cold, a few latte's helped too!

 -  I would like to say a big thanks to the photographers Anna Saverimuttu (annasaverimuttu@aol.com) and Ben Horsley for all your help -

Afternoon. If you've read Byron's last blog, hi I'm the Andy he was talking about. If you haven't read it then I'll tell you why I'm writing this and not Byron. Long story short, I'll be doing a lot of the admin type stuff so that Byron can get on and make some more music!

I'm a Scorpio, a radio DJ and enjoy keeping our many local venues in business. Check me out here www.myspade.com/andyvaleradio

As a present to you all I've just uploaded this video of Byron's version of Faithless - Insomnia. It has been getting a load of requests from people at gigs so I made him find some footage of it so I could upload it. We have other plans for this track, but that's in the future. For now, you can enjoy this! Pass it on to your friends as well.

Cheers!

Hi, here is an update for you on some of my recent goings on this past year in music

Well, first off it's been a crazy year so far, I have performed at high streets, art galleries, parks, cruise ships, theatres and festivals and award ceremonies.

This year I also managed to take my music international to the next level with the help of a good agent, that's something that should be more a feature in 2009 for me.

I also continue to host live music nights every Wednesday at local Guildford venue Fahrenheit 55, which is now a regular gig slot on the UK circuit for some very good musicians.

In September I hosted The Guildford Brit Awards, and that was quite a celebration.  To be honest it was a long overdue recognition to some of the great players of our time, and if you are wondering about the night I run you can check out the gig listings and info at www.myspace.com/strangersonatrain

And then of course there is Anna Phoebe.., Anna and I have become good friends this year, she is one of the loveliest kind hearted musicians I have ever met, and as so many of you know she is one dynamite violin player too!  Our current plan is to finish our joint album for a 2009 release, the current working title being The Delta of Venus, which is being produced by James McMillan. http://www.annaphoebe.com/

I know I am just about the worst artist for keeping in touch with people who enjoy my music! and so I have taken steps to make sure I don't fall behind again.  This has come in the form of radio presenter Andy Vale, who interviews and champions many artists on his regular shows with GU2 radio.  Andy is now working with me to assist with gigs, media/press and very importantly helping me keep in touch with you guys! So you may well receive messages from him on my behalf in the future

Next Big Show – My next big gig is at The Phoenix Theatre in Bordon on November 21st.  I have been asked to headline this event and would love lots of support from you all, so please come along if you can make it; here is a link for tickets/info

Hi guys!

Hope you're having a great summer so far!

We've been in the studio and doing loads of gigs around London which have been brilliant fun! The hot news is that Anna and myself are playing Canary Wharf - London this Weds 23rd July as part of a big competition/gig.

If we win the competition then we will have £1000 to put towards getting the new album out this year!

It would really mean a lot to us if you could please take a moment on Weds - TOMORROW!!!! - (between 2pm - 8pm UK time) to go online to vote for us

thanks so much, and if you are in London town please join us on the day at the gig and say hi!

Hi all,

well its all been a bit hectic to say the least.

I have been dashing of to St Tropez to play around the med, and met some fantastic other entertainers including Hungarian acrobats and sould singers from good ol' USA!

I got back from Italy in June, and promptly had to get ready for my show at The Royal Albert, which was the day after i flew into UK!!

so pretty tired, i rolled out of bed the enxt morining, gathered my gear and headed upto kensington.

As always, Mark Pearse and the programing team at RAH where excellent and I had a fantastic gig, and met many new fans from all walks of life and countries.  If your reading this, thanks so much for your support!!

Since then I have been darting off all around the country for shows, and just got back from an awesome time at Guilfest, where i played the acoustic stage.  For those that missed it, or are just wandering about catching up at a small  but inimate festty, I can recommned Weyest - weyfest.co.uk  which is in farnham surrey, i will be there this sept with Anna for more fun and games on stage, speaking of which we have now set up a dedicated mypsace page, with tracks, blog and info about shows, so if your reading this then check it out and say hi

http://www.myspace.com/annameetsbyron

we also recently nailed down our second track for the album in the recording studio - vatos locos, which now has a distinct and very punchy brazilian feel to it.

see you all soon at a gig i hope!

thank god, it all went well.  I was probably worrying way too much about the gig last night, but it did go very well.  The crew @ the bedford are seriously organised too, and soundchecks are fast, so you have to get comfortable quickly as these guys run unbelievably efficiently!

We played Vatos Locos (young wildthings) first, followd by a reworking of Cuba Libra track Tango In Gminor, then Habanera - which kicked arse!, finishing with Anna's track Goddess.

Thankfully Steve Jones, was in the audience last night to take some snaps last and also film the night of Anna + myself playing, hmmmm, I feel some fresh youtube footage coming here!

Solo gig news - its seems to be ages since I last played solo @ F55, so this weds I am going to play a feat length one hour set, from around 8pm.

Song news - I will definitely slot in my prized new cover of mad world, plus some reworkings I have been doing on Oceano tracks too.  I can feel new material is becoming ready to be written, and I think its time to play out a new and very off the wall song, influenced by my listening to DJ's Kruder and Dorfmeister, crossed with the oriental  guitar playing of Xufei Yang......

Hi all, just a quick note,

in case you didnt already know, I am now mostly corresponding with fans on the following facebook page

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Byron/43804060056

It just seems that myspace has become more for the industry, and facebook is more about the people that come to gigs and are into seeing me play live, so i have created the page especially for you.

Recent news, I have been working with Anna on some fresh material, which is going to be some of the most passionate music I have produced yet, I cant wait for you all to hear it, speaking of which I hope you can make our London debut gig at The Bedford in Balham in April 28th, all are very welcome and I believe ts free entry too!
