On Friday 21st March I lost a very old friend.

His name was Jason Saga and I was lucky enough to have spent my teenage years with him. He was an incredible talent and i had the privilege of working with him. We made graffiti t-shirts together (under the name U.NO.IT Productions) and in one Summer were outselling Stussy!

I had known him for 25 years and in that time had the ups and downs of any friendship, but he remained a distant soulmate and I am very sad to have lost him as I’m sure half of London is this weekend (look up the word popular in the dictionary and you’ll see his name!).

Jay, I’m numb with sadness, I miss you big-time and I’ll Love you forever. RIP

Going To France with Transcargo feels like an age away, something that may have occurred in a different lifetime. Almost like a summer school holiday, the memory of which is brushed with a wash of sunshine.

We went away for 10 days, them to record some new material, me to record them. Before we knew it time took on a kind of looseness, became flexible, the days were long, punctuated only by breakfast, lunch and dinner (carefully adhered to by Emily), food basically, sustenance. It’s hard work having fun.

Transcargo made work like play and this made us feel like kids. This, I think is why it feels like so long ago, because the memories of this trip are located in the same place that holds my first crush, my first fight, my Millenium Falcon and my 3 stripe Adidas t-shirts. Fond memories.
