Decadance: memory file 07 with PATRICK FORGE
Categoria: Música
DECADANCE 07
ten years of cosanostra, ten years of music working together as a collective, changing the landscape of electronic music.
to
celebrate these ten years of fun with exchange and communication, radio
universidade de coimbra (www.ruc.pt) will broadcast, weekly, some of
the best recorded dj sets.
Saturday 06th JUNE 02 a.m. [107.9 fm / www.ruc.pt]: guest: PATRICK FORGE (Peacefrog) dj set @ Via Latina [?- 2003] Real Name:Patrick Forge Profile:Originally
from Ipswich, after moving to London and a stint working in Reckless
Records on Berwick Street, Patrick was one of the two DJ's that held
residency at the influential London club Dingwalls (the other being Gilles Peterson) on the clubnight "Talkin' Loud And Saying Something".
He was also the only DJ still doing a show on Kiss FM in London
from it's inception 21 years earlier, with his last show being
broadcast on Sunday 14 September 2008.
After originally doing a live act called Batu with friend Chris Franck earlier, they later realised they wanted to do a more studio-based project and the group Da Lata was started which had much success with the single "Prá Manhã" and the album "Songs From The Tin".
Currently he is based in Okinawa, Japan.
This is for those of you that don't always want your dance music
"harder and faster"! There's a whole world of alternatives out there, I
will try to help you untangle the confusing world of
post-chill-out/broken-beat/nu-jazz? etc. It's all about quality music
not confusing jargon.

Saturday 30th May 02 a.m. [107.9 fm / www.ruc.pt]: guest: Ian O'Brien (Peacefrog) dj set @ Via Latina [?- 2001]
Originally a UK music scholar, O'Brien was deeply influenced by the
Detroit techno sound of the likes of UR, a sound that decided him to
start recording his own music. This feverish mad mike disease had him
producing tracks first in conjunction with Asad Rizvi under the Memory
Tree moniker and then on a solo basis for a variety of UK techno
imprints.1997's Desert Scores, the man's masterpiece, is still
considered a landmark release by those who cherish the kind of
tech-jazz pioneered on the Galaxy 2 Galaxy EP. Though less innovative
1999's Gigantic Days was still the work of a man obsessed by music
rather than pose. Another album, The History of Things to Come,
followed in 2001.

guest: Dj Patife
dj set @ Via Latina [5 Dezembro 2003]
