Award winning Canadian blues artist Harry Manx has featured one of Miten’s Osho songs on his new album. The song ‘Love is the Fire’ was a long-time favourite in Osho’s ashram and was one of the first songs Miten wrote as an expression of his love and gratitude to Osho. You can hear it here.

Dear Friends,
Over the years we have received many messages from people with physical and mental disabilities. They have shared how listening to the mantras on our CDs has inspired them, providing strength, solace and peace.

We have all felt that power.

This has led us to look at how we could make the live concert experience available for these friends who may not otherwise be able to attend. The outcome is the creation of a program called Seva Seats. So from now on, a certain amount of free seats will be reserved at each concert for our friends with disabilities (adults and children). The number of seats will of course depend on the size and logistics at each venue.

Seva Seats are available for our concert in Houston, November 21 and will also be offered for our tour in Australia. The music can be found by CD title, and we have also just added a new listing by song title. Deva and Miten want to do whatever they can to help you establish your own Satsang circles. Also check our Forum to find Satsang groups near you, or post information about one you are hosting.

In a recent interview at MediaBlvd, Edward James Olmos, who starred in Blade Runner and as Commander Adama in the hit television series Battlestar Galactica, notes that Deva's mantras played a key role in helping him to fully develop a sense of character:

"I found Deva Premal’s albums, and ended up listening to them, which drove me into understanding Battlestar’s world, and they became the centerpiece. I take my hat off to that music. The mantras that she sings are kind of like prayers, but she had put melodies to them, and they were so enlightening. Almost like a cross between Gaelic and ancient music, just using her contemporary instruments, but they were so haunting that they became the centerpiece of how I could create this world…”

Welcome! It was great to see so many of you during this year's European Tour. What a blast we all had! Deva, Manose and I all felt that it was the most ecstatic tour yet - in fact, ever! Thank you so much for sharing your light with us.

In July, as a completion to the tour, we spent a week at the AsvaNara Horse Academy in Toscana, Italy in the region of the St. Francis Monastery. AsvaNara is owned by our friends Ariane and Edwin, who are very unique in their approach – and their love - towards horses. They communicate with them in a way that heals both horse and human (no fear, no threat) and their herd of 30 beautiful horses is unique in that the horses live naturally, and as a consequence, are open, inquisitive, friendly and contented. Deva and I really recommend you check their site and go visit them. To be there was an amazing experience for us – the horses taught us so much about communication and the transcendence of the busy mind. We felt we’d given our souls a great gift. Also, I want to say something about the Tantra-Mantra for Couples group in Mexico this December.This group is not booking as fast as in recent years, and we suspect it’s either because of the recession or because of the media induced fear of swine flu. I just feel to encourage you not to pay too much attention to it all, and follow your heart.

We all need time to nourish ourselves and our relationships. Now is the time to explore our freedom, in love and in deep connection. Tantra-Mantra gives us this opportunity. In these precarious times, what better gift to give each other than to live our passion!

In view of the recession, the Maya Tulum resort has agreed to reduce the accommodation charges by 10% and the cost of the group has also been reduced by $100. Hopefully this will help you take the jump into a week of pure delight!

If you love The Beatles and love reggae, it’s just a must! It is top draw.

Mantras For Precarious Times contains seven mantras chanted for an entire mala – 108 times. Vedic scriptures state that our bodies – physical and subtle - contain 72,000 energy channels, called ‘nadis’. There are 108 major nadis that meet in the ‘sacred heart’ (Hrit Padma). By chanting a mantra 108 times, the energy permeates the entire body and energy body.

While in London Deva and Miten were interviewed by Clare Soloway for Conscious TV. Clare was instrumental in encouraging Miten to get back into music some 25 years ago, after he had left his former musical career for a life of meditation with Osho.

We recently watched a movie on YouTube called Home – maybe you saw it? If not, we recommend you do. It is powerful – and a very realistic overview of the challenges facing our human family.

It is not news anymore, that we are destroying our ‘home’. We’ve all seen the films of the ice caps and glaciers melting, we watch the continuing destruction of the rain forests from our television screens, we all know about green house gas and its impact on the ozone layer. And we can see for ourselves the layers of pollution hanging above our cities.

But, unfortunately, as a species, we don’t seem to be able to put a stop to any of it.

And now the world economic crisis has underlined the fact that our reality - as we have known it – is changing forever. Where do we go for solace? We can’t rely on our leaders to bring us peace of mind –that the path of the mystic even exists. So it has to come from within each of us – and that’s the bottom line.

Osho often spoke about having many bottles of medicine, each one with a different label, depending on who was asking the question. But inside the bottle, he said, the medicine was always the same: meditation.

The music Deva, Manose and I make is nothing more than one of Osho’s bottles. We play and pray that it inspires you to take some time out from your busy lives to sit in meditation - to breathe, to chant, to listen to the wind, the birds, the traffic, the sounds outside your window...whatever god's orchestra happens to be playing at the time...and slow down for a while.

Nobody can give you this peace, and nobody can take it away. We will always do our best to support you in your meditation, because that is our mission. Meditation is the ‘last resort’. Distractions will always be there – it’s in the nature of things - but despite all the distractions, and all our obligations, we have one constant and faithful friend – our breath. Our awareness that all things come and all things will pass.

And from this awareness of ‘that which never dies’, grows the greatest gift – the compassion towards all living beings, human and otherwise. And ultimately, compassion directed back towards ourselves, which is where our journey begins.

So, please join us, even if it is for only 10 minutes a day, and chant a mantra, breathe it in – and see what happens! Don’t take my word for it. Try it, and see. If you have attended one of our recent concerts you will have chanted OM SHANTI OM with us, 108 times, so you know the benefits already. Give it to yourself, and to your friends, because right now, time is of the essence...
