Hello there

  1. In brief: 4tRECk has some gigs coming up in France (Reims and Nancy) and England (London and Exeter) and has a hand-painted one-off cassette release (edition of one!) in an exhibition at Cecil Sharp House (Folk' Mecca: http://www.efdss.org/), also there's a Facebook page too, ....and a new video on You Tube (can't remember if that's new news or old news..whatever).. and  Mp3s for sale at iTunes www.itunes.com/4treck

  • Not in brief: On the 17th of March (a Tuesday), I'll be playing a concert in Reims, France at a small theatre space near the College De Jesuites, with Canadian slomo downer pop troupe Barzin (think Low, Red House Painters a bit),and interval interventions by Pauline Easy Project (kitsch Ukulele covers n stuff like dat)

  • Doors are 8PM, I'm on first (at about 8:45 ish) 5 Euros will get you in.

  • On the 10th(Fri) and 11th(Sat) of April, I'll be playing in London.

The first one is at Ryan's Bar, 181 Church Street, Stoke Newington, London N16 - organised by Catapulte Records>> >www.myspace.com/mmmmmmmmmmmm catapulterecords.com with Private Trousers (Trashy, Country Teasers-esque, Fall-like, childish-showtunes, lo lo-fi, racket)>>>   www.myspace.com/privatetrousers and, Guess What (that's the name of the group, I'm not building up to something..) who make crackly, spacey, stereolab-y, french-y (they are actually French), 60s vintage keyboard swing. ...>www.myspace.com/leguesswhat   8pm kick off, a measly 3 pounds to get in.

The second is at Cecil Sharp House in Camden, near Regent's Park (home to the English Folk Song and Dance Society) on Saturday the 11th April. Its the closing night of an exhibition called Blank Tape Spillage Fete (in which I have a handmade hand-painted enlarged cassette box on display) . The exhibition is free and runs for only a few days (from the 8th to the 11th) and features lots of obscure musicians' hand crafted cassette creations with the music played throughout the day. Pay it a visit, why don't cha?

doors 7.30PM - 11PM, £4 ENTRY ON THE DOOR TREFUSIS HALL, CECIL SHARP HOUSE http://www.blanktapespillagefete.com/  www.myspace.com/blanktapespillagefete  There'll be lots of other performers (lo-fi experimentation and such thang)...go to the links for more info .

Thirdly (news just in) on the 13th of April I'm doing a gig at The Hourglass in Exeter .! Organised by a group of rare record collectors/fanatics, cinema enthusiasts, Djs etc called: Birds,Orphans and Fools birdsorphansfools.com www.myspace.com/birdsorphansfools possible with sultry folk chanteuse Le B www.myspace.com/monnomestleb  (le B)

  • On the 23rd of April I'll be playing somewhere in Nancy (Eastern France) with Chicago based minimalist/drone/abstract guitarist David Daniell (he's collaborated with luminaries such as Loren Connors, Thurston Moore, David Grubbs... all sorts of dudes) and released albums on the Table of Elements label.>> have a listen here  www.myspace.com/davidwdaniell  Check my myspace page for updates on the venue. The organisers are Association Monolithe www.myspace.com/assomonolithe have a look, if you want

P.s Je suis a la recherche d dates apres le 23 Avril.. quelques part pres de Nancy.. (Strasbourg...par example), peut-etre? Ou dans le sud (Lyon, Saint eienne...etc). Toutes vos suggestions et contacts sont bienvenues! or in fact any concert offers anywhere are welcome

There's a relativly new video made from photos of paintings on you tube to the song "April 97" >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHWJ_csgXeQ

I have a Facebook page. You can listen to more stuff there, see more photos, etc. Go to the easy to remember :

http://www.facebook.com/pages/4tRECk/113188605257 but i think you need to be a member to see it .

That's it for the moment. 4tRECk is a one-man-band (sam callow), home made bric a brac tropical music. I have new material to play and an evolved drum set up (I say 'evolved', but really just new bits and bobs sellotaped on to the existing kit..)

cheers
