"The Treatment" is a blog we recently begun. Marty has posted his "Offshore" European tour diary over there. We'll be keeping it updated with random info including unreleased songs, practice out takes, tour ruminations, photos and other assorted oddities.

Current mood:  accomplished
We're pleased to announce our new album "The Treatment" IS coming out this Fall, in September if manufacturing goes smoothly. We will be touring the United States and Europe and Israel in support of the album so keep looking for dates posted here on our myspace in the future. In the meantime, check out our new web presence at earlydayminers.blogspot.com. Our official website got hacked a while back, and so we're abandoning it for the foreseeable future. All pertinent EDM news can be found here on myspace, over at blogspot, and/or at our record label's site secretlycanadian.com

More details as we get them. Thanks for your patience. The new album will be out soon enough, and hopefully we'll see you in your town! As always, we welcome suggestions for places to play live.

Well, again we apologize. Dan is still not getting any healthier after his bout with food poisoning during tour, so we had to cancel show in at The Spin in Indianapolis. This is something that EDM has never done before the Nashville show. Dan is really in a bad way right now and believe me, we were really looking forward to playing with some of Indy's finer bands, im sure the night was a blast, but health comes first. We dont have any new shows booked in our future so we can really crack down and finish the record, however, we entertain any offers for future shows. Please drop us a line and say hi. Stay healthy and stay away from the clams.

Hey all. Sorry about cancelling the show in Nashville. Dan had, what we thought was, stomach flu and ended up being food poisoning. Dan spent a day and a half in the hospital in Scottsburg Indiana because of severe dehydration. He is out of the hospital now and resting. As far as we know we are still playing the show this weekend in Indianapolis. Nashville, we owe you one. Look for us playing there in the spring. all the best. In the meantime, look at some pics of us playing in Tampa FL a few days ago by our new friend Nicole. Hard to tell that Dan is sick, but he knew that the show must go on.

After a brief vacation we're back to work on the new album, our follow-up to "Offshore".

"Return of the Native" (from the album "Offshore") was featured in Episode 9 of the television program "Army Wives" on Lifetime.

The pilot episode of "Quarterlife" will include a handful of EDM songs, including "Perish Room", "Longwall" and "In These Hills". Check out the Quarterlife site (Quarterlife.com) for additional information. The debut episode premiers Nov 11th on Myspace and Nov 12th on Quarterlife.com.

We were fortunate enough to stop in with the Daytrotter folks during our Midwest run of shows last month. No news yet as to when the live performance will be posted. We recorded three new songs and a rather 'drifting' number that came to us on the spot. Check Daytrotter.com or back here periodically for updates.

As we gear up for our mini-tour next week, we think about where we have been and where we are going as a band. Early Day Miners have survived many years with many line-up changes, but like a sneaky snake that sheds its skin every once in a while, it always remains ready to devour its prey. Wow, that was a load of shit!! Anyway,  yeah, we are gearing up for our little regional tour. First off is a show in Champaign Illinois at the Pygmalion Festival. We are really excited about this show because it is with label-mates Catfish Haven and Damian Jurado as well as step-label mates Okkervil River and Odawas (Jagjaguwar). We love festivals. Its a great time to meet up with old friend, have a few beers and meet new people. The vibe is always great and lots of times you end up getting lots of cool schwag (sorry about that word schwag...its an industry term I guess) After Pygmalion we head on over to Chicago to play with labelmate Dave Fischoff and again, Odawas at the Empty Bottle. Again, excitement and fun is planned as Chicago shows have gotten better for us over the years. The next night is the one we are really looking forward to, our Daytrotter session. What an honor for us as Daytrotter is really an amazing thing. Check it out and see what I mean at Daytrotter.com. When Sean Moeller layed his idea on me for Daytrotter a few years back when I was the publicist for Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar, I was really excited. So excited that I hooked him up with the Impossible Shapes and Catfish Haven who were two of Daytrotters first recordings. Since then it has gone on to record lots of great bands. EDM is very excited to be a part of it. We plan on recording 2 brand new songs (not on any record as of yet) as well as redoing an older song as yet to be decided upon. Will keep you updated on that. Finally we will head on down to Indianapolis to play a show at the lovely Radio Radio club with labelmates Marmoset. Kind of exciting because Marmoset live can be an interesting ordeal...a live grab bag band for sure. They write amazing pop songs and always put on a show that gets talked about. After that its back home to finish our songs that hopefully will be out soon on record. Until then, you will have Daytrotter.com songs to  hold you over. Thanks and see you soon
