We posted a new track titled Gathering from our album The Secret.  If you still don't have the album yet, head over to the Tribunal store or download a copy from iTunes. 

In other news, Jonin is currently recording a cover version of Faith No More's "Caffeine" for the Tribunal 100 compilation cover album that will be coming out early 2009 via Tribunal Records.   More news on that release soon. 

Writing for our new record, tentatively titled, "Thrown to the Wolves", continues...several songs are complete and many more in the works.  We hope to have a summer release in 2009.

We recently teamed up with Matt of Killwhitneydead. to shoot a video for our collaborative cover of the Corrosion of Conformity classic "Vote with a Bullet".  We had fun making the video and rushing to get it online as soon as possible.  Many thanks to Blake Faucette of All Aces Media for shooting, producing and editing the video.

We tried to throw some nods to the original video with the coloring and the message at the end of the video.  You can watch the orginal video here:


We chose to cover this song because we felt it's just as valid today as it was in 1992 when originally released on the Blind album (note: amazing record, do yourself a favor and buy it if you don't already have a copy).  We aren't trying to tell you how to vote or who to vote for; use your minds, make your decision and exercise your right to vote November 4th.

JONIN UPDATES

It's been a while since our last update so we just wanted to let everyone know what's been going on in the Jonin Camp as of late.

The new video for Flood is done and has been posted on our myspace.  We'd like to extend special thanks to Blake Faucette of Series DVD for doing an excellent job on the video and for being a pleasure to work with.

We will team up with Blake again next month to film a video for the Jonin/KWD collaborative cover of Corrosion of Conformity's Vote with a Bullet.  Expect to see that one online very soon as well.  Don't forget, Vote with a Bullet is a free download on our page and the Killwhitneydead page and more importantly don't forget to REGISTER TO VOTE!

Over the past few months we've been busy writing and demoing new material for the next Jonin album, tentatively titled "Thrown to the Wolves".  The material is shaping up to be a nice progression for us and we're very excited about this record.  We expect the album to be released sometime 2009 but we are taking adequate time to assure the best quality material. That's all for now.

Current mood:  focused
Per request, we posted the lyrics to each song we have on our myspace player.   Don't forget the lyrics also come with the CD so if you don't have a copy, hit up the Tribunal Records e-store and order yours today! 

We are currently working on writing the followup to The Secret.  Things are going pretty well so far and will only get better from here so stay tuned.   New music on the horizon.

Jonin will be taking an extended break from the live music scene to focus our musical efforts on writing the best followup to The Secret we have in us.  We hope to tread some new musical ground with our new material so hopefully it will be worth your wait.

For anyone with any booking requests/inquires, I'm afraid we'll be turning down any show offers for the foreseeable future.

Many people have asked recently how to order shirts and cds so we've setup a Jonin Merch store at Bigcartel.com where you can order the CD, shirts and stickers directly from the band using a secure credit card service.

We've got some new merch in the works from a pretty killer artist and we're working on getting a limited production run of the Heel video on DVD so be on the lookout for that as well. 

Please note that we ship all orders for the week out on Fridays due to busy work and school schedules.  Thanks to everyone for their support of the record and of Jonin.  It does not go unoticed and is truley appreciated.  Much love.

The Heel video is now online. If you have an iPhone or an iPod video then you can download the source file from the Vimeo website for a non streaming hi-res version. You can also leave comments on Vimeo as well; so check it out and let us know what you think.

Once again, we'd like to thank our good friend Chris Harris for all the hard work he did on the video. We had a great time shooting the video (outake reel may surface one day) and we look forward to more collaborations with Chris in the future.
